Two Sides of The Clinton Coin
When it comes to fundraising, it seems neither party can get enough of the Clintons.
When the committee charged with raising campaign cash for Democratic senators asked top donors to help fund a "Media Response Project," they turned to Bill Clinton. "He gets an incredible response," said Matthew Miller, the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee spokesman.
In his letter, Clinton explained that the effort would help senators beat back Republican attacks during upcoming senate campaigns.
Those attacks may well be aimed at tying Democratic senators to the former president's wife, the senator-turned-White House hopeful.
The Republican National Committee's latest e-mail solicitation, sent out Tuesday, is titled "Stop Hillary!" and announces: "If we are to stop Bill and Hillary from returning to the White House, we must act now."
Turns out fear of "the 'Two-for-One' package you get if the Clintons are in the White House" may be just as effective a fundraising tool as the desire for "the 'Two-for-One' package you get if the Clintons are in the White House."
