Fred Davis Latest To Leave McCain

Fred Davis did the logo for John McCain's 2008 campaign and his firm designed the new Straight Talk Express bus. But Davis said today he has left McCain's campaign to pursue other work.
"That is true, sadly so," Davis said in a brief interview. "When there's not much media, there's not much need for media people."
McCain has lost all but one of his media team, which was announced with fanfare in January. "These guys are the best in the business, and should I seek the presidency, I am confident that they will help deliver our message of common sense conservatism to voters across this great land," McCain said at the time.
Now, Stuart Stevens and Russ Schriefer have left and with Davis' departure, only Mark McKinnon remains.
Asked whether he would join another presidential campaign, Davis declined to say. "I have a clue," he said. "But I did not leave [McCain] for someone else. Everyone really likes John...and the whole team."

John McCain is asking for small donations from us.What I do not understand is this--He is not willing to put a penny of his or his wife's fortune into his campaign but wants us to put our hard earned money into his campaign.He obviously thinks we are all stupid and at the end of the day the McCains will be left with all their money in their pockets and all our pockets will be empty. OUI?

How can a fiscal conservative be at a point were he is almost out of money. Everybody is abandoning ship and his lackluster speeches sound similar to Bush. It started going down hill when he was beating bush's drum and sided with him. The ideology of "stay the course" in Iraq and pretty much anything that is in the Bush platform is a thing of the past. John should really think about "cutting and running" out of the campaign trail.

The logo strangely lacked the requisite red, white & blue and the font and colors of the bus design made it look like a feminine protection product. The loss of Davis is no loss.

Afraid not H5N1 . . . the Express faced an uphill climb regardless due to past dust ups with the GOP base, and his positions on illegal immigration (certainly not his support of use of force in Iraq) is what really stymied it.

The Straight Talk Express augured into Shorja Market in Baghdad and McCain has been a dead man walking ever since. He has no chance of recovery at this point.

Only McCain knows why he continues to campaign. Perhaps only to keep his ideas in the media as long as possible. I believe Mitt Romney should choose Hunter for VP and Rudy Giuliani could choose from the rest for his VP. All that's left is Newt and Fred and neither one will be VP for anyone. This will shrink the lineup to four.
