Hsu Moved to
Colorado Prison

Disgraced Democratic fundraiser Norman Hsu now sits in jail, Colorado authorities have announced.

Mesa County sheriff's deputies took custody of Hsu shortly before 8:30 p.m. EST Wednesday at a Grand Junction, Colorado hospital, where he had been treated for undisclosed injuries sustained during his flight from prosecution.

Only weeks ago, Hsu was hob-nobbing in the elite circles of Democratic presidential contender Hillary Clinton's top fundraisers.

But now, the Clinton camp has returned the $850,000 Hsu raised for her, and Hsu has been booked into the Mesa County jail, where he is being segregated from other inmates because of the high profile nature of his case, sheriff's department spokeswoman Heather S. Benjamin said. Hsu is scheduled to be arraigned through a video hook-up Thursday and will immediately face efforts to return him to California.

California state prosecutors have been waiting 15 years to finish sentencing Hsu on grand theft charges stemming from a ponzi scheme they convicted him of running on more than a dozen people. Hsu had gathered more than $1 million in investments from the victims, purportedly to buy latex gloves and resell them to an Illinois company. But no gloves were ever purchased.
