Clinton's Birthday Haul

Forget the roses. Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton will gladly take a cool $1 million for her 60th birthday tonight.

To clarify, that will be $1 million in campaign contributions she will bring in at a grand birthday party at The Beacon theater on the Upper West Side in New York City. The star-studded event is being hosted by the New York and New Jersey governors, will be emceed by Billy Crystal, and will include musical performances by Elivs Costello and The Wallflowers. Vendors will be handing out hot dogs and beer.

Husband Bill Clinton will be on hand, of course. And campaign chairman Terry McAuliffe and manager Patti Solis Doyle will address the crowd of roughly 2,500 guests who will pay top dollar to attend. Orchestra seats went for $2,300. But there were also a few $100 nosebleeds available.

Tonight's event is actually the second birthday bash for the Democratic front-runner. Hollywood mogul Rob Reiner hosted an event last weekend at his Brentwood home that brought in about $500,000.

All in all, not a bad birthday haul.

Hillary ought to be ashamed of herself. I imagine that she is in favor of campaign finance reform.

She and her husband are all about money and cronyism.

Her fundraising birthday bash reminds me of Starr Jones and her wedding sponsored by JC Penney and Payless Shoes.

Starr lost her job at the View partially because of her wedding blunder.

Hillary flaunts her fundraising prowess. Perhaps she ought to seek a job as a university president instead of President of our country- she could then spend the majority of her time buttering up alumni for big donations.

Awesome for Hillary, hopefully she can spend number 62 in the Whitehouse.

That's just tacky.

Is there no end to what Hillary will exploit to win the nomination?
