Michigan Set; N.H. to Announce Today

Well, it's about to be official. After months of delay and speculation, New Hampshire Secretary of State Bill Gardner has scheduled a news conference for 3:30 p.m. today to announce when his state's primary will be held.

The betting is that he will choose Jan. 8, five days after the Iowa caucuses and a week before the Jan. 15 Michigan primaries. The Michigan Supreme Court ruled today that the primaries could be held on that date, despite prior rulings that called that into question.

So stay tuned. The calendar chaos may soon be over.
