Murphy's Law
By Dan Balz
MANCHESTER, N.H. -- Who was spotted in the lobby of John McCain's hotel Sunday afternoon? Former McCain -- and former Mitt Romney -- adviser Mike Murphy.
The GOP strategist was there for tete-a-tete with McCain in the candidate's suite prior to Sunday's Fox News debate.
Murphy swore he is still neutral, given his friendship with the two candidates who are slugging it out here in New Hampshire. He was responding to a request from McCain for an afternoon chat.
Murphy said he would trade a few jokes with the candidate but nothing more. Hard to believe they won't talk politics.
