Obama an 'Underdog' Again

By Shailagh Murray
10:12 p.m.CHICAGO -- The VIPs are starting to arrive at the Barack Obama rally site. Mayor Richard M. Daley, one of the senator's political patrons, gave a thumbs up as he entered the ballroom. "He knows what it means to be the underdog," said Daley, as returns rolled in showing Hillary Rodham Clinton winning in key states like New Jersey and Missouri. "But what a difference in basically less than a year," Daley added.

9:32 p.m.CHICAGO -- When CNN called Delaware for Barack Obama moments ago, supporters gathering now in a basement ballroom here let out a robust cheer. But they really let it rip when CNN switched to a live shot of the room.

"Yes we can! Yes we can!" the crowd started to cheer for the cameras.

Then CNN moved on and the noise died down.

Meanwhile, campaign aides holed up at Obama headquarters a block away, deep in delegate math.
