Romney Wishes Tom Brady Luck

By Glenn Kessler
CHICAGO -- Former governor Mitt Romney, barnstorming across the Midwest Sunday, won't be in Massachusetts to cheer on the home team. But he did trade e-mails with Tom Brady, the star quarterback of the New England Patriots.

Romney told reporters traveling with him that he sent Brady an e-mail on Saturday wishing him "good luck." Brady responded with a "friendly, personal note," which Romney, holding up his BlackBerry, suggested he would not be deleting any time soon. "It's kind of like not washing your hands after you shake" a celebrity's hand, he said.

Romney wouldn't disclose how he got Brady's e-mail address. "I have everyone's e-mail," he said. And, chatting with reporters before his plane departed for St. Louis, he steered clear of football metaphors for the campaign, including speculation about whether his campaign was more like the Giants or the Patriots. None of the politicians running for president, he noted, have had a perfect season like New England.

Romney joked that he'd sent Brady a few plays, before wistfully adding, "I wish he'd sent me a couple of plays."

Romney is the only candidate with the experience to save our economy. McCain is the only one that knows how to curse people out - see the Drudge report.
