McCain Makes Bush Wait

THE WHITE HOUSE -- President Bush had rolled out the red carpet for John McCain, emerging onto the North Portico of the White House, where he usually meets foreign leaders, to greet the new Republican nominee.

Only, McCain wasn't there.

"So, anyway," Bush said to the assembled reporters, there to see him shake McCain's hand. "As I was saying..."

Still, no McCain.

Someone yelled a question.

"He's gonna win," Bush said, adding, "There will be ample time for questions."

He smiled a bit, but no McCain. He did a mock soft shoe dance. "I'm just going to tap dance a little," the leader of the free world said.

He looked around. Then he looked at his staff.

"Who should be his VP?"

"There will be ample time for questions," he said.

"There's ample time now," a reporter said.

Still no McCain.

"Let's start over," an amused Bush told the reporters, turning on his heels and heading back into the White House. "Pretend like it never happened."

A minute later, a small, black Cadillac entered through the gates, Bush reemerged, and out strode John McCain and his wife Cindy. Bush shook McCain's hand, gave Cindy a peck on the cheek, and the three
went into the White House for lunch.

If you didn't know the "tap dance" story behind these photographs, it actually looks like Junior has slipped on an icy patch and is trying to recover his balance & keep himself from falling.

Didn't Larry Craig get arrested for tap dancing?

Michael, how was the bbq at McCain's house?

Did he say any more about privatizing Social Security? Did you see his lobbyist friends there, too?

Is it really accurate to describe Bush as the "leader of the free world"? In fact, Bush has authorized torture, secret kidnappings, and spied illegally on his country's citizens without warrants. That doesn't sound so "free" or "leaderlike" to me.

When Gen. Powell was late to a cabinet meeting, George locked him out. So why was George so accomodating to Sen McCain?

Quite amusing but W seems to have taken it in stride.

As another poster notes, other than Bush saying "Yea verily we have candidate," and McCain saying "Aw Shucks George, thanks," McCain should put as much distance as possible 'tween himself and W.

As Hillary has now opened the Clinton/Obama (or Obama/Clinton) ticket idea (a bit early for that, but I digress), McCain's ability to defeat one or the other has been turned into a very tough hill to climb.

LOL! I can hear it now.

"Sorry George, I had a Call from someone Important..."

George Bush: John McCain's Willy Horton.

Getting an endorsement from Bush is like having Bill baby sit your 18 year daughter. Both are headed towards disaster.

Run McCain run as far and as fast from the current Administration as your feet will take you. Boy will you be surprised when you see the actual state bag of stuff they have left you. Good luck.

In wrapping himself in George W. Bush's catastrophic failures, John McCain is sewing his own political shroud.

Mr Shear, I have the feeling this is going to get weird and uncomfortable for you. You should consider reassignment now, before it's too late.

3 minutes?

Oh LOL! :-)

I can't top that!
