Richardson Scorns Clinton Aides, Defends Clinton

By Zachary A. Goldfarb
New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson said today that the people around Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton practice "gutter" politics and that they feel entitled to the presidency, a day after an informal adviser to her campaign compared Richardson to Judas for endorsing Sen. Barack Obama.

James Carville told the New York Times that Richardson, a former member of Bill Clinton's Cabinet, had committed "an act of betrayal," adding that it "came right around the anniversary of the day when Judas sold out [Jesus] for 30 pieces of silver, so I think the timing is appropriate, if ironic."

"I'm not going to get in the gutter like that," Richardson responded on "Fox News Sunday." "And you know, that's typical of many of the people around Senator Clinton. They think they have a sense of entitlement to the presidency."

"I am very loyal to the Clintons," said Richardson, but he said he wanted something beyond "Bush, Clinton, Bush, Clinton." "You know, what about the rest of us?" he asked.

He called for "a new generation of leadership," and added, "I think Obama represents this new change of not just bipartisanship, but bringing people together, bringing races together, bringing America's role in the world to be respected again."

Richardson defended the Clinton campaign against the accusation of an Obama ally who suggested that Bill Clinton was calling Obama's patriotism into question.

The former president said Friday, "I think it would be a great thing if we had an election year where you had two people who loved this country and were devoted to the interest of this country. And people could actually ask themselves who is right on these issues, instead of all this other stuff that always seems to intrude itself on our politics."

Richardson should have just said that Carville peaked about 16 years ago and left it at that.

Nobody listens to Carville anymore unless he is shoved in our faces on Sunday mornings with his equally annoying wife.

"Hillary's grass roots, are growing, we are her foot soldiers, and we are all marching to the White House, so you all can just step aside, or get mowed down by all the feet that will be walking over you, We will win the White House, if we have to go, over, under, around, or through, anybody, or anything, to get to it." Posted by a HRC supporter above

There you have it, folks. HRC and her goose stepping jackboots don't care what the majority of us want. They WILL have what they want and will get it anyway they can.

Uh huh. Sounds like entitlement turned desperate to me.

As Bill said, "Chill out".

I think it's remarkable that Bill Richardson would set aside his personal relationship with the Clintons to endorse Barak Obama. Shouldn't we think an endorsement is like a photo, speaking a thousand words?
And James Carville needs to retire! Or at least get a chronic case of laryngitis!

My my, what venom and name-calling and rage and hatred from all you Hillary-lovers!

If Richardson is a Judas, then Hillary is our Lord and Savior?? Your comments are idiotic and, if your are a Christian, blasphemous. But then, the "Christ" means "the anointed one"--just the role Hillary had assumed for herself for most of year. Do you all remember those glorious days, when Hillary in all her glory was just biding her glorious time until her ascension to the throne of POTUS?

And then as Jon Stewart said, and then the people started voting.

BOYCOTT NEW MEXICO!!!

Calling Richardson a Judas is kind. Judas wasn't fat and pimply, like Richardson.

Obama wants to disenfranchise the voters of FL & MI. NEVER!!!

Posted by: cosmiccanine | March 24, 2008 2:13 PM

What's the problem?

Carville's white, Richardson's brown. He gets to call him anything he wants. Just like Bill Clinton and Barack Obama.

Don't you guys get it yet?

Four more years! Richardson 2012!

Posted by: lithium452 | March 24, 2008 1:32 PM

Gov. Richardson;
You stated that you were tired, of the fighting between the Democratic contenders, and then you endorsed the Obama camp, who's doing all the dirty tactics, they are very disrespectful to Hillary and Bill Clinton, and their supporters, you must don't read newspapers or surf the net, you will read the vile comments, Obama'S kool-aid drinking supporters, say about Hillary, at least when Hillary supporters say anything, we have proof. It's either Obama putting his foot in his mouth, or some pictures, articles, etc. that we can back up on Obama. So you jumped on the wrong candidate's back, that's Obama, going down, without a parachute. Enjoy the ride Governor, Hillary is not dropping out of the race, so you, Obama, and the rest of the kool-aid drinking bunch, can just put a sock in it.

Hillary's grass roots, are growing, we are her foot soldiers, and we are all marching to the White House, so you all can just step aside, or get mowed down by all the feet that will be walking over you, We will win the White House, if we have to go, over, under, around, or through, anybody, or anything, to get to it.

So media, you can play your tricks, but you are not going to pick our President for US, we know who we want, so have your fun, thinking you are keeping our EYE OFF THE PRIZE, by playing your silly games. First you'll put something in the news, that Hillary supposedly said to get the Obama supporters angry, and go on the attack to Hillary, next Obama supposedly said something about Hillary and her supporters go on attack, and we are not focusing on the prize, so we will tune you out, and off.

Go HILLARY, GO TEAM, onward march, straight to the WHITE HOUSE, keep your EYES on the PRIZE, We don't have long, you know what to do, so, don't pay attention, to the crap. hillaryspeaksforme.com, taylormarsh.com, or hillaryclinton.com

Sharpton endorses Richardson [rumor].

Posted by: axxel | March 24, 2008 12:59 PM

I applaud Governor Richardson for his endorsement of Obama. Richardson is a classy guy. If the remaining candidates were Richardson and Clinton, Richardson would have my vote!

Democrats should be overjoyed that we have 2 qualified and electable candidates. Why are you bloggers coming out with hate and untruths for the candidates? I'd say that most of you are Republicans trying to rain on our parade. Dems don't need to stoop to their level.

I'm ashamed of Carville's remarks as well.

I've been told that as a woman I should vote for Hillary. But, after looking at her voting record and looking at the issues that concern me most I find that she is not the candidate for me.

I agree with Richardson. We need a President who can unite the country. We need a President who will speak the truth. We need a President who puts the needs of the people above the needs of special interests. We need Barack Obama!!

How can people continue to blame Obama for what happened in Florida and Michigan? The voters there knew full well by moving their primary up before Feb.5th that they would be sanctioned by the DNC over a yr ago. They need to put the blame where blame is due,on their Republican government that voted to make sure the democratic voters of both states would not count. Hillary herself knew it and now it's shame on Obama.Give me a break!!!!!!!!

To vs_sv: Incompetent MDP leadership led to the problems with the Michigan primary, not Obama's campaign. These incompetents will have to go...and they will.

The Obama Camp PROMISE RICHARDSON one of two things , EITHER the VP or to pay his election DEBT OFF. That was why there was a TENSE CONVERSATION BETWEEN HE & THE CLINTON CAMP, "THEY WOULD NOT BITE" So he went to Obama, BUT HE HAS JUST COMMITED Political suicide, he was the one a few month ago on Media STATEING THAT ALL SUPER DELEGATES go the way their State went well it may only been by a few thousands votes but NEW MEXICO WENT TO HILLARY a win is a win. RICHARDSON LATINOS DON'T LIKE BACK STABBERS, you sold out for POLITICAL GAIN OR CASH, as DID JOHN KERRY, TED. DONNA BRAZILE she said she was going to quit the DNC if SUPER DElEGATES starting DOING THIS DID SHE MEAN ONLY IF THEY DID IT TO OBAMA, I think SO HAVEN'T HEARD HER SAY IT ABOUT RICHARDSON, KERRY OR TED.

The "old" guard in both parties is going the way of the dinosaur. This is what infuriates a lot of them. Younger voters are not buying into one party or the other. They are crossing party lines to vote for whom they see as the answer to the gridlock in "DC". Most older people, including the pundits don't get it either..I do, and I fit into the older group. Once in someones life time someone comes along that is a transformational person, and I feel that Obama is that person. Do I think he is perfect? No, but I can live with his imperfections. I believe in separation of church and state, and religion isn't part of my consideration for a candidate, and no I am not against religion, only when used as a litmus test for a candidate. the conundrum facing Democrats this cycle is that we have an african american, and a woman running for office. We will eventually decide who will be our standard bearer, and that person will eventually become our president. We will all come together for the greater good. ( to get rid of the morons in office who have turned our great country into a third world one). On to Richardson, he stated why he is endorsing Obama, and I believe him, but am smart enough to understand that he is a politician first and foremost. The Clinton campaign thought they had this sewed up, and so did the news and pundits. They laughed at Obama, and by the time they realized what was happening, it was too late. Do y9u want these people answering the phone at 3 in the morning, asking for a do over? Food for thought, who went negative first, and who for the most part has taken the high ground? The Clintons are doing a disservice to the party, especially Bill. Go Obama

Posted by: woodard3 | March 24, 2008 10:26 AM

Clinton won in Richardson's state by 1/2 of 1% and those results have not been fully certified yet. That race was still a statistical tie. Therefore, Richardson is free to go either way he chooses. And, the idea that he is a Judas is ridiculous. The rationale behind such a statement is that it is wrong not to vote for someone based on race, gender or age, but it is ok to vote for someone simply because they think you owe them loyalty, right or wrong. Richardson did the jobs he was appointed to do during the tenure of his appointments. He owed the Clinton no more than this. Carville's statement makes it seem like the Clintons expected that these appointment were a downpayment on Richardson's soul forever. Although Carville sold his soul to the devil, others have not.

Posted by: friendlyfire | March 24, 2008 9:10 AM

Um, I'm not sure where you're getting this idea that Obama is solely responsible for expelling the delegations from Florida and Michigan, but you're completely and entirely mistaken in your assumptions.

First, the Democratic National Committee barred these delegations from the National Convention because they knowingly and willfully violated Party rules on when and how primary elections are to be held--we can't have every state changing their voting procedures and times willy nilly or candidates will have no way to properly campaign in all the places they need to. Second, Hillary's own advisors and campaign managers VOTED to keep these delegations out of the National Convention for violating the rules. Thing is, when they did that, they weren't in the Clinton campaign--they were hired on after she fired the first bunch with which she started this little adventure. Now that these twits are a part of the Hillary campaign and now that they realize there is no way in Hades that she's going to win in the popular vote or in the pledged delegate count, they want these delegations sat at the Convention just to bring the two candidates closer to a tie.

Of course, the reason they want Hillary to be much closer in pledged delegate numbers to Barack is because if it goes to the Convention the way things are, the Superdelegates would have total rebellion on their hands if they gift-wrapped the nomination for Hillary while Obama has such a commanding lead. No, if they're going to swing the Superdelegates their way, the Hillary camp needs these delegations to count, and that's just not going to happen on Howard Dean's watch--thank God!

Posted by: xiape | March 24, 2008 8:16 AM

Richardson knows the Clintons well, so he recognizes their propensity to fight dirty. What amazes me, however, is how naive the general public is, believing Hillary's blatant lies and falling for her dirty tricks. No wonder this country is in such bad shape; the people who get to vote are so slow.

Posted by: queenskid | March 24, 2008 8:04 AM

Nonsense is written by most bloggers concerning the Democratic primary. Bill Richardson made his endorsement when it became obvious Hillary could not win under the party rules (Delegate count). As much as Hillary supporters thinking she will be a better president, it no longer matters. The Democratic party will not push a candidate that won neither the delegates nor the counted popular vote. MI and FL were Hillary's last hope and with no new elections, she has lost.

Posted by: jameschirico | March 24, 2008 5:11 AM

Bill Richardson's endorsement of Obama can have a huge impact... It may help convince superdelegates to vote for Obama. Here's the analysis of the blogger "showze2"...

If Obama picks a hispanic VP then he is probably certain to win in november?

consider 15% black vote + 20% hispanic vote + 30% liberal white vote, that gives Obam about 60%, or more of the popular vote.

we could see a liberal democratic landslide in November

that's maybe why richardson endorsed obama, richardson is the likely choice for hispanic VP.

However, the Clintons records in the White House and after the White House speak for themselves...

Under Bill Clinton's presidency, the democrats lost the house, the senat and many other legistlative seats. His presidency was plagued with violations to ethic codes:

- Most number of convictions and guilty pleas by friends and associates*
- Most number of cabinet officials to come under criminal investigation
- Most number of witnesses to flee country or refuse to testify
- Most number of witnesses to die suddenly
- First president sued for sexual harassment.
- First first lady to come under criminal investigation
- Largest criminal plea agreement in an illegal campaign contribution case
- First president to establish a legal defense fund.
- First president to be held in contempt of court
- Greatest amount of illegal campaign contributions
- Greatest amount of illegal campaign contributions from abroad
- First president disbarred from the US Supreme Court and a state court

Before he left office, he seems to have given favors in exchange of money... For example, shortly after beeing pardonned by President Clinton, fugitive financier Marc Rich had his ex-wife giving $400 000 to the Clintons library foundation: Source:
http://www.time.com/time/nation/article/0,8599,98756,00.html

Since then, he seems to be in much bigger suspicious money deals ... The Clinton foundation received recently a $31.3 million donation after Bill expressed enthusiastic support for the Kazakh leader's, undercuting both American foreign policy and sharp criticism of Kazakhstan's poor human rights: Source: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/01/31/us/politics/31donor.html

Bill and Hillary Clinton would be the target of many attacks by the republicans if Hillary is nominated.

Bill Richardson probably took this into consideration when he sided with Obama.

Bill Richardson is a Manly Man now that he may run for president of Mexico and Joe Lieberman the senator from Israel who lives in Ct. These guys shouldn't be allowed in the country! By the way wasn't Joe Lieberman and Bush who had a French kiss during the state of the union address! That kiss cost us plenty: $5,000.00 for every man woman and child in Israel. Free gift from BUSH $30,000,000,000 BILLION

I believe the time has come to stop directing so much Media attention to the Dimocrat Socialist Contenders faults, foilbles, and transgressions. They should be allowed to wind up in their Broken Convention to determine who is going to lose to President McCain without any more exposure by the Media making it any more painful than the process already is. It is stressful enough being a Leftist these days, I am sure!

There will be plenty of time to bring all of it back in October! ;~)

GOOD, now that a super-delegate from a state that Hillary won switched to Sen. Obama, All super-delegates from the states that Sen. Obama won can now go to Sen. Clinton freely.

I mean these super-delegates from red states and swing states. Jump ship now for self-preservation. After the "GODDAM AMERICA"fiasco, it will be a political suicide to stick with Sen. Obama. This man will certainly lose the election if he becomes the nominee. Go with the winner!

Clintonistas are sadly lacking in creativity and if they continue to put Hillary first ahead of most everything including the Democrtic Party, let alone the nation, we all suffer. The whole group needs a reality check, because like Hillary and her so called experience, they will soon find how much Americans like smoke and mirrors in 2008.

Obama says his own white grandmother was racist, so it is quite understandable Rev. Wright would be. What a great analogy by a brilliant presidential candidate. What a great speech. Ranks right there with Lincoln and JFK, thats what many journalist are saying. Would they lie? I didnt think I was a racist til I read that speech. Thanks Obama. I'm sorry, I just didn't know.
Damn, you are the only person in America that is not racist. Wow what a speech. Why would it take you 7 paragraphs to tell how Rev. Wright wasn't any more racist than your grandmother. You're smarter than that.I guess that would be the only negative I noticed. Wow, what a speech.

THE SPEECH --

The Apologia has arrived and once again the self-indicting, separatist-racist Barack Obama AKA Barack Hussein Obama, promises to heal the wounds of the world. The speech is the rude awakening of mass messianism of his campaign. Apologetically, Obama the MUSLIM double-cross X-boX-BorraX has an astonishingly empty two-prawn echelon explanation of his misjudgment.
In the first prawn: with regard to his connection to separatist-racist Rev. Wright; Obama summons voodoo and juju to express slavery as beginning and ending with the Rev. Wright.
In the second prawn: Obama's speech takes credit for Ashley's dream. A dream of unity Martin Luther King, Jr. borrowed from Ashley for his historic "I Have A Dream" speech. In Obama's speech, the connective bond Ashley, the elderly black man and Obama's grandmother share; represents Obama's self-indicting rise to the Harvard Yard. For Obama, the grand flag of language is the semi-fore of words, bestowed upon our nation by the messiah-alumni from Harvard. Obama's Swoon-Song Apologia to the nation represents a failed hymn -- a hymn that fails to heal the nation, repair the world, or make this time different than all the rest. Obama's speech is a brilliant failure.

Thank you New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson for endorsing U.S. Senator Barack Obama! Thank you also for the way you responded to the negative comments by some of the Clinton's Aides regarding your endorsement. Apparently they still want to run with the "Good-old boy and girl system" - I hope to see your name in a Obama-Richardson ticket for US President and Vice-President. This is the "new" leadership this country needs.

It is typical of the Clintons and their supporters that the more they fall in the realistic chances of winning the nomination the more their ugly politics of hate and destruction rises to the top. Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton and James Carville will do and say anything no matter real or not whether it hurts their party or their country as long as they can win. Hillary, Bill and Carville are exactly what is wrong with this country and the sooner they are gone from the national scene the better for America.

The release of the schedules of Hillary Clinton as a first lady reveal a picture that differs vastly from her claims. She has nowhere near the experience Rendell is talking about. We did some comparisons on our blog:

Obama's efforts to connect to the Republican Party, specifically Bush, and Dick Chaney, of the Halliburton Company, dates back to the Presidents Grandfather, Prescott Bush, and indeed Chaney was once an executive officer of Halliburton.

The American military pounds Iraq with Artillary, bombs, and the like, destroying large sections of cities, and infra-structures, then Halliburton comes in to rebuild. Halliburton and Halliburton associated companies have raked in ten's of billions.

Obama is just like the BIG HALIBURTAN. Haliburton has contracted to build detention centers in the U.S. similiar to the one in Quantanammo Bay, Cuba. Halliburton does nothing to earn the Two Dollars for each meal an American Serviceman in Iraq eats.

http://www.halliburtonwatch.org/

Halliburton was scheduled to take control of the Dubai Ports in The United Arab Emiirate. The deal was canceled when Bush was unable to affect the transfer of the American Ports.

Now we see what some might suspect as similiar financial escapading from the Democrats.

Two years ago, Iraq's Ministry of Electricity gave a $50 million contract to a start-up security company - Companion- owned by now-indicted businessman (TONY REZKO) Tony Rezko and a onetime Chicago cop, Daniel T. Frawley, to train Iraqi power-plant guards in the United States. An Iraqi leadership change left the deal in limbo. Now the company, Companion Security, is working to revive its contract.
Involved along with Antoin "Tony" Rezco, long time friend and neighbor of Democratic Presidential hopeful Barack Obama, and former cop Daniel T. Frawley, is Aiham Alsammarae. Alsammarae was accused of financial corruption by Iraqi authorities and jailed in Iraq last year before escaping and returning here.

LIKE FATHER LIKE SON --
Recently, Obama's campaign staff have been vetted by the IRS to disclose his connection to the criminal money generating underworld. Besides, his connections to the REZCO MAFIA types, his up-coming tax fraud charges -- Obama needs to disclose why he is a MUSLIM "PATWANG-FWEEE" and disclose Obama's MUSLIM Farrakhan mob connection to Chicago's Trinity United Church of Christ. Its minister, and Obama's spiritual adviser, is the Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr. In 1982, the church launched Trumpet Newsmagazine; Wright's daughters serve as publisher and executive editor. Every year, the magazine makes awards in various categories. Last year, it gave the Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr. Trumpeter Award to a man it said "truly epitomized greatness." That man is Louis Farrakhan. Farrakhan and Chicago's Trinity United Church are trumpeting Barack Obama AKA Barack Hussein Obama as the second coming of the messiah. Obama should stop suppoting our intervention in IRAQ. The face had drifted through American pictography for decades before being claimed by Mad editor Harvey Kurtzman after he spotted it on the bulletin board in the office of Ballantine Books editor Bernard Shir-Cliff, later a contributor to various magazines created by Kurtzman.

Obama wants to keep Florida and Michigan out which in terms of population is equal to keeping 20 states out ( like Arkansas, Kansas, Utah, Nevada, New Mexico, WEst Virginia, Nebraska, Idaho, Maine, New Hampshire, Hawaii, Rhode Island, Montana, Delaware, South Dakota, Alaska, North Dakota, Vermont, Washington DC and Wyoming). My 10 year old did the math and told me so

Shame on Obama and to the democratic party for RIGGING the elections and not letting FLORIDA and MICHIGAN count.
