A Quiet Weekend?
On the heels of the latest in an endless string of conference calls from Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's campaign, an aide to Sen. Barack Obama offered what will have to pass as best wishes for the holiday weekend.
"Since the Clinton campaign had a news-less conference call, reiterating tired lines of attack with no basis in reality, instead of responding with a call of our own, we are going to give the press corps a break so that we can all enjoy this holiday weekend with our families and maybe even watch a little basketball," said Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton.
Both Clinton and Obama are slated to be off the campaign trail this weekend. Obama is even expected to slip away for a brief vacation early next week.
