Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (N.Y.) appears to have claimed a much-needed victory over Sen. Barack Obama (Ill.) today in the Pennsylvania Democratic primary as several television networks have called the race in her favor.

ABC, NBC, CNN, Fox News Channel and Reuters have all declared Clinton the winner. Clinton is also leading in the early vote returns.

Should Clinton win -- as appears likely -- the crucial question will be her margin of victory. A small single-digit lead would net her very few pledged delegates and a somewhat minimal gain in the popular vote while a double-digit margin would increase her pledged delegate and popular vote gains.
