N.C. Gov. Easley to Endorse Clinton

By Perry Bacon Jr.
North Carolina Gov. Mike Easley will endorse Hillary Clinton at a rally tomorrow in Raleigh, according to Clinton campaign sources.

The backing of Easley, who was reelected in 2004 but will leave the governor's office this year because of term limits, could help Clinton in a state where she trails Barack Obama in most polls. Clinton aides have attempted to play down their chances of a victory in a state where more than a third of the Democratic primary voters are black.

Much of the state's congressional delegation has endorsed Obama, making Easley's move a potential risk for him. The governor's office has not yet put out a formal statement on the endorsement.

Since his "endorsement" was crowned with a homophobic remark, since it is clear his use of "pansy" had nothing to do with gardening, I'm surprised that no one has criticized him yet - and that HRC stood there beaming,

Well Ellen....where's your voice on this?

I for one do not need a pastor for the next 8 years. I do not want to be preached to I do not need to be looked down on. I am tired of the Black People crying and blaming white people, Americans and Jews for evey single bad thing that happens in this country. Who are the real racist's? But whatever, we need someone who can work hard and get something done rather than give speeches and tell us how bad we are.

"making Easley's move a potential risk for him"

What is that supposed to mean? What risk? Is the congressional delegation going to beat him up?

Washington Post's "The Trail" rules for reporting Democratic presidential campaign endorsements:
1. If the subject endorses Sen Obama, the endorsement is significant, principled and potentially effective,
2. If the subject endorses Sen Clinton, the endorsement is of questionable value and character and must be accompanied by mention of relative endorsements of Sen Obama.

I'm glad to see Mr Bacon has observed the rules carefully. Can't very well have the anarchy associated with reliable, professional reporting, now could we?

CLINTON IS DEMOCRATES ONLY CHANCE IN GENERAL ELECTION

OBAMA NOT WRIGHT FOR U.S.http://www.dontvoteobama.net

"Wright is like an uncle you love and respect" As imperfect as he may be, he has been family to me for so many years, I can no more disown him than I can disown the black community" Wright "Calls for Justice and Repair," followed a statement in which he declared that "The Biblical principle of true repentance is that the offended party is given compensation to make up for that which has been stolen from them, the losses that have been inflicted upon them and their families." A reparations plan for blacks could extract several trillion dollars from American taxpayers' pockets.

DEBATE! DEBATE!! DEBATE!!!

It's time for everyone to face the truth. Barack Obama has no real chance of winning the national election in November at this time. His crushing defeat in Pennsylvania makes that fact crystal clear. His best, and only real chance of winning in November is on a ticket with Hillary Clinton as her VP.

Hillary Clinton seemed almost somber at her Pennsylvania victory speech. As if part of her was hoping Obama could have proved he had some chance of winning against the republican attack machine, and their unlimited money, and resources.

But it is absolutely essential that the democrats take back the Whitehouse in November. America, and the American people are in a very desperate condition now. And the whole World has been doing all that they can to help keep us propped up.

Hillary Clinton say's that the heat, and decisions in the Whitehouse are much tougher than the ones on the campaign trail. But I think Mr. Obama faces a test of whether he has what it takes to be a commander and chief by facing the difficult facts, and the truth before him. And by doing what is best for the American people by dropping out of the race, and offering his whole hearted assistance to Hillary Clinton to help her take back the Whitehouse for the American people, and the World.

Mr. Obama is a great speaker. And I am confident he can explain to the American people the need, and wisdom of such a personal sacrifice for them. It should be clear to everyone by now that Hillary Clinton is fighting her heart out for the American people. She has known for a long time that Mr. Obama can not win this November. You have to remember that the Clinton's have won the Whitehouse twice before. They know what it takes.

If Mr. Obama fails his test of commander and chief we can only hope that Hillary Clinton can continue her heroic fight for the American people. And that she prevails. She will need all the continual support and help we can give her. She may fight like a superhuman. But she is only human.

Sen. Hillary Clinton: "You know, more people have now voted for me than have voted for my opponent. In fact, I now have more votes than anybody has ever had in a primary contest for a nomination. And it's also clear that we've got nine more important contests to go."

Sincerely

Jacksmith... Working Class :-)

Mike Easley hasn't done crap for NC. I know I live here. Who does he think supported NAFTA that shipped all those factories in NC overseas? Who do you think voted for a war that has kills so many NC soldiers or who are still fighting? What has Hillary done to support agriculture? (suppose to be a big issue with Easley) What's Hillary done for the kind of health care reform that Easley has been pushing lately?

Don't kid yourself NC residents. Hillary will do just what Easley has done for us. NOTHING!

Hillary is a liar and a drunk. She is supposed to be a role model for young women like me, but she's off taking whiskey shots with old men and claiming to have some foreign affairs credibility from going on USO tours with Sinbad and Sheryl Crow back in the 90s. I have friends who have gone to more war zones than her. Plus, she's used to lying to cover up her husbands indecent acts all these years. How can anyone believe she's honest with the American people when she can't even be honest with herself. I don't want her fighting for me.

Gov. Mike Easley: Thank you for endorsing Senator Clinton. Hillary's resilience in the face of adversity is second to none. I firmly believe her when she says,"I'm in this race to fight for you...you know you can count on me." THIS PERSON IS A PERSON OF SUBSTANCE!! Thank you again,SIR!!

Dartmom -- I'm glad to note that you are speaking only for yourself. I'm surprised that you didn't join us in marching during the civil rights movement, but there's still time, and still hurdles.

My Irish family came over before and during the Civil War, and some of them died on both sides. cannon fodder to both groups of white men. It doesn't make me proud, just sorry that we've been so pigheaded for so long.

By the way, despite Hillary's shaking MLK's hand, I don't think she marched, either.

Rev. Not So Wright has done more to damage race relations in America than anyone in recent history. The easy answer it to blame "whitey" for all your ills. The hard truth is that the problems in the black community are brought upon by themselves - 7 out of 10 babies born to unwed mothers, poor parenting, lack of values being instilled in black youth leading to rampant crime, drugs and a complete absence of respect for anyone. If you work hard and play by the rules discrimination would end. Complaining about things that happened 100 years ago is not the way to get there.

Clinton supporters, blame Clinton's incompetent campaign staff which caused her the nomination and now advises her to destroy the Democratic party in revenge. That is not best for her future interests. They remain a bunch of good-for-nothing loyalists with no skills.

The ones who deserve to be smeared are her campaign staffers.

Mr. Wright is a "whackadoodle", however, that being said, he just didn't become a whacky guy. He has practiced these beliefs for 30+ years. So people that attended his church knew of his beliefs and many chose not to continue to listen to them. There in lies the problem and poor judgement that Barack Obama has shown rather than not listen to his hatred, incredibly he embraced these beliefs {his book as we all know is dedicated to Mr. Wright.} I very much want to have a Democratic in the Whitehouse, but after witnessing Mr. Wright's speeches this weekend I can no longer support Barack Obama because of his very poor judgment. For me the final straw was listening to Mr. Wright take gleeful pleasure in degrading the speech of John F. Kennedy, a great, great man. I don't know how Edward Kennedy or Caroline feel but it made me sick.

MY FELLOW "BITTER", STUPID, WORKING CLASS PEOPLE :-)

If you think like Barack Obama, that WORKING CLASS PEOPLE are just a bunch of "BITTER"!, STUPID, PEASANTS, Cash COWS!, and CANNON FODDER. :-(

You Might Be An Idiot! :-)

If you think Barack Obama with little or no experience would be better than Hillary Clinton with 35 years experience.

You Might Be An Idiot! :-)

If you think that Obama with no experience can fix an economy on the verge of collapse better than Hillary Clinton. Whose ;-) husband (Bill Clinton) led the greatest economic expansion, and prosperity in American history.

You Might Be An Idiot! :-)

If you think that Obama with no experience fighting for universal health care can get it for you better than Hillary Clinton. Who anticipated this current health care crisis back in 1993, and fought a pitched battle against overwhelming odds to get universal health care for all the American people.

You Might Be An Idiot! :-)

If you think that Obama with no experience can manage, and get us out of two wars better than Hillary Clinton. Whose ;-) husband (Bill Clinton) went to war only when he was convinced that he absolutely had to. Then completed the mission in record time against a nuclear power. AND DID NOT LOSE THE LIFE OF A SINGLE AMERICAN SOLDIER. NOT ONE!

You Might Be An Idiot! :-)

If you think that Obama with no experience saving the environment is better than Hillary Clinton. Whose ;-) husband (Bill Clinton) left office with the greatest amount of environmental cleanup, and protections in American history.

You Might Be An Idiot! :-)

If you think that Obama with little or no education experience is better than Hillary Clinton. Whose ;-) husband (Bill Clinton) made higher education affordable for every American. And created higher job demand and starting salary's than they had ever been before or since.

You Might Be An Idiot! :-)

If you think that Obama with no experience will be better than Hillary Clinton who spent 8 years at the right hand of President Bill Clinton. Who is already on record as one of the greatest Presidents in American history.

You Might Be An Idiot! :-)

If you think that you can change the way Washington works with pretty speeches from Obama, rather than with the experience, and political expertise of two master politicians ON YOUR SIDE like Hillary and Bill Clinton..

You Might Be An Idiot! :-)

If you think all those Republicans voting for Obama in the Democratic primaries, and caucuses are doing so because they think he is a stronger Democratic candidate than Hillary Clinton. :-)

Best regards

jacksmith... Working Class :-)

p.s. You Might Be An Idiot! :-)

If you don't know that the huge amounts of money funding the Obama campaign to try and defeat Hillary Clinton is coming in from the insurance, and medical industry, that has been ripping you off, and killing you and your children. And denying you, and your loved ones the life saving medical care you needed. All just so they can make more huge immoral profits for them-selves off of your suffering...

You see, back in 1993 Hillary Clinton had the audacity, and nerve to try and get quality, affordable universal health care for everyone to prevent the suffering and needless deaths of hundreds of thousands of you each year. :-)

Approx. 100,000 of you die each year from medical accidents from a rush to profit by the insurance, and medical industry. Another 120,000 of you die each year from treatable illness that people in other developed countries don't die from. And I could go on, and on...

Our Gov is making the "wright" choice. Obama is on the down slide. People are only now seeing the real Obama and they don't like what they see. The person who ran a campaign based on his judgement, now displays some questionable judgement based on his associations. You are known by the company you keep. About his record: He was an organizer who didn't stand up for his community when they asked him to oppose the city takeover of historic black bldgs. He sat in the Il. senate for 6 years and accomplished 0. Controversial bills, vote present. It wasn't until he wanted to run for the US senate that his name was attached to 126 bills. Find one bill, one cause that he was passionate about, that he championed? You can't fool everyone.

If someone is still wet behind the ears, you can't say they have had experience. What has he seen? Would you associate with a person you worked with if you knew he was on a business board with you and belonged to The violence against America Group? I know he said he did not know at the time, but this does not look good.

I am for age on a person. Most know by experience of seeing the past wars, depressions and the Government rationing tires, gasoline, sugar and all the other valuables. I have stamps that were issued by the US government when I was a child. Each person was alloted so many stamps. It may come to this before our country gets back on its feet.
We need to know someone has seen this before. We need change but not for the worse.
If Mr. Obama gets the position I will be behind him 100%, But I feel Hillary will beat him at the Democrat Convention.

Sorry, but Im tired of hearing the experience argument favoring Clinton. Its like an echo chamber where falsehoods seem to propagate rapidly of their own accord. Compare the two side by side. Theres only 1 with the experience to lead this nation from the brink. GO OBAMA!

Most whites love all races. Anything that happens someone always yells racist. Just because they call themselves Reverend is no sign he can't pull the wool over your eyes. Whites are blamed for things that we never knew about. Blacks are blamed for things that they are not guilty of.
The main thing is if you do not get hate out of your heart and forgive--- even if the race has done or not done something to you, then you are guilty of hating your brother. America's leaders should not go around preaching hate and bringing up things that happened a 100 years ago.

Why is Clinton more "ready" than Obama?
I just received my voter pamphlet for my state of Oregon. It lists Hillary Clintons "government experience". You know what it said? Its real funny - NY senator since 2000, first lady and rose law firm. Hmmm real valuable experience there.?. Seriously - what valid experience does she bring? She was a Corporate Lawyer for more time than a public servant. Contrast this with Obama, who was a community organizer, constitutional law professor, state legislature, and senator. I prefer someone who works for the community instead of corporations, in areas of Public Service. I especially like the idea of a Constitutional Scholar in the White House at this point. GO OBAMA!

Polcomm @ 6:47--

It is nearly impossible for Hillary Clinton to win. Obama has a 150 delegate lead, with 400 left to be assigned.

http://www.slate.com/id/2185278

HRC must average 70% of the vote in all remaining contests to tie Obama. That alone would be pretty amazing. But it's even harder with Obama's certain victories.

Obama will win: NC, OR, MT, and SD.
HRC will win: WV, KY, Guam, and PR.
Up for grabs: IN

If Obama gets only 50% of the vote in his victories, then Hillary Clinton must win WV, KY, PR, and IN by 80%-20%

Those are ridiculous margins... and even then, that's only to TIE.

If she doesn't get those miracle landslides, she'll be the loser. Few Superdelegates will want to jump on the loser's sinking ship.

The fact is that Hillary Clinton is on a quixotic, extended ego-trip. She might be a little delirious. Or perhaps she knows what she's doing, and she's just murder-suiciding him so she won't have to run against the incumbent in 2012.

The man has done more to hurt race relations than anyone in recent times. One of the most telling things is Mr. Obama sitting in that church for 20 years.

Hmmm... lame duck governor, eh? At this point, does he still have the political machine to give this endorsement legs? Or have his politicos moved on to the other candidates?

After the two Democratic candidates for Governor supported Obama, and the commercials against them by the 527, the remarks today of Rev. Wright; added together, it was a very smart move by the Governor to endorse Clinton. It can only help the both of them. Clinton does not have to win NC, just come close enough to cause second thoughts. I think she will do that well in IN.
