No Re-Vote in Michigan a Blow to Clinton

By Chris Cillizza
The decision Friday by the Michigan Democratic Party executive committee not to hold a of re-run of their presidential primary further complicates Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's (N.Y.) chances of catching Sen. Barack Obama (Ill.) in the popular vote count.

For much of the past few months, Clinton's campaign has pushed hard for re-do votes in Michigan and Florida, knowing that without wins in the those two states it is extremely difficult for the New York senator to overtake Obama in the raw totals -- where he leads by more than 790,000 votes -- before the end of the nomination process June 3.

(The two states were stripped of their delegates by the Democratic National Committee as a punishment for moving their primary votes into January. As a result, none of the Democratic candidates actively campaigned in either state and Obama's name did not even appear on the Michigan ballot.)

In the wake of the announcement by the Michigan Democratic Party, Clinton's campaign released a statement expressing its displeasure with the decision.

Of course, Obama didn't expect FL and MI to count. Why? Because the DNC had already told those states that if the held their primaries early, they weren't going to count. Duh! Clinton violated a pledge NOT to campaign in MI and how can she declare victory when her name was the only one on the ballot? She says it will disenfranchise voters in FL and MI not to have their votes counted, but then says that there is "no such thing as a pledged delegate" and is trying to persuade pledged delegates to flip to her, thereby disenfranchising all the voters in those states that went for Obama. She wants it both ways and will do anything to get this nomination. She is a liar. Check her record. She was a part of the Watergate investigation and was fired from the job. Her superior said she was a liar and that she violated the Constitution. He would not write a recommendation for her. She lied about Bosnia. She lied about bring peace to Northern Ireland (unless you count on having tea with the ladies as bringing about peace); she lied about NAFTA. She can't be trusted and has proven that. I can't believe that her lemmings still support her. Heaven help us if she manages to steal the nomination. McCain is scary: check out his record as it relates to the U.S.S. Forrestal, he ranked 5th from the bottom of his class at the academy, wrecked 5 planes, only served 20 days in action, cheated on his wife, negotiated a deal to get current wife a get-out-of-jail-free card and a handslap with community service when she stole painkillers while serving with the Red Cross, has 59 lobbyists on his staff, doesn't know about the economy, needs Lieberman to help keep him straight on a Shiite v. a Sunni, thinks military action is the solution to everything, has a volitle temper that even scares some of his Republican colleagues in the Senate, is too old, a member of the Keating Five, etc. It is more of same that we have suffered for 8 years. Criminey, folks. If Hillary steals the nomination, just hold your nose and vote for her anyway -- ANY Dem in the WH is better than McSame.

Mrs. Clinton: Give it a rest.

It's over. Go back to being a Senator or whatever it was you were doing before this.

Enough of your shrill shrieks and accusations and misstatements and triangulations. Enough.

Hillary has just distinguished herself as a cheat as well as a liar.

The MI & FL votes were disallowed. That was the rule going into the vote, that is the rule under which the candidates conducted themselves during those elections, it must be honored now.

If Hillary steals the election with a mendacious scheme like this, you'll see riots in the streets of Denver & a McCain presidency, no matter what Bush or the economy do or don't do. You'll probably see blacks & young people staying home or voting republican for a decade after this. You can count on that.

C'mon Hillary, even your own supporters are not this stupid. You cannot talk about remaining voters and superdelegates in the same breath. The more you talk about your path to the popular vote, the more you support the nomination of Barack Obama. Split the delegates from Michigan and Florida 50/50 (the only fair and democratic solution), run the remaining 10 contests and allow the superdelegates to use independent judgement to vote whenever for whomever. Good luck.

Posted by: oneworld67352 | April 5, 2008 7:05 PM | Report abuse

Obama has already stated that he wants to seat the delegates and he will most likely have more than enough delegates to win without FL and MI. so, there really is not going to be an issue.
The CLINTONS seem to have no regard for rules or the democratic process. They agreed to the rules in the beginning and Obama's name was not even on one of the ballots so of course she "WON"
But, the bigger picture is that these people are desperate to maintain their power that they see slipping away every day and I expect that they will resort to even more desperate measures in the coming weeks...
Democracy and the Constitution are at stake in this election and any attempts to trample either should be exposed and resisted.

This is more a blow to two groups:

1) Michigan and Florida voters who are being suppressed, and

2) Barack Obama for suppressing their votes.... MI and FL voters will not forget this in Nov. if Obama is the nominee... they'll vote for McCain, especially in FL where Hispanic and older voters have made it known they don't want to vote for Obama

downtoearthfilms-Funny you should say that.

What I see is three Candidates left standing, two of whom, their White Skin is no issue at all;

and the Third, unable to see beyond His! :-(

There were rules that were broken and there were reprecussions because of that. It's simple as that, for all you narrow-minded racist, it's time to look at what's good for the future of America and forget about the color of someone's skin. You're time has past, racism must not prevent people from making the right decision for the future of America. You guys who voted for Bush twice are to blame, and your votes in this election should be waived for your past mistakes.

It's not fair. Look how many more votes Hillary got compared with "uncommitted."

Clinton 328,151 55.3%
Uncommitted 237,762 40%

She runs unopposed and still gets slightly more than half, and of a pathetic turnout -- because it was not supposed to count-- at that.

rat-the: Your logic on Obama is completely insane. "Threw his infidel g'ma under a bus?!" Uh, OK. His Christianity is really Islam in disguise? You wish we could expel him? You are one scary person. I hope the hate an anger in you someday finds another place to go beside at Obama. You dont have to vote for or like him, just stop with the lies, ok? I dont like everything about him (how can you, he is after all a polititian), but just stay on track with his past voting record rather than your opinions of his religion or grandmother or whatever.

Kevinlarmee-Trying to Boldface down criticism only works on the weak-minded.

Unfortunately, it does work on the weak-minded! :-(

His Muslim-hood? Funny how he managed to "Convert" to a Church that espouses the exact same rhetoric as al-Sadr or al-Nasrallah. Very convenient that!

Black? Try Happa Haole. In Hawaii racial differences are mostly joked about, and Haoles catch it the worst-IE: Slap a Haole Day!

White?-He did throw his infidel Grandmother under the Bus!

Patriotism-Very! To the World Labor Party. BUT, G' D' White America!

Finally, just what would you call someone who spent every penny of over $60,000 of Charity on: A Pro-Black Church, Black Scholarship Fund, Africa CARE, Wife's Black Dance Group, and other Black Based Organizations-Exclusively.

Me, I do not swallow Proclamations. I look for ACTIONS.

What Barack Hussein has, and has not done, has sealed my opinion of Him!

I wish we could expel him and revoke his Citizenship!

LOL! ;~)

CLINTON BODY COUNT

By: Ether Zone Staff

Here is the latest body count that we have. All of these people have been connected with the Clintons in some form or another. We have not included any deaths that could not be verified or connected to the Clinton scandals. All deaths are listed chronologically by date. This list is current and accurate to the best of our knowledge as of January 13, 1999 August 1, 2000.

Susan Coleman: Rumors were circulating in Arkansas of an affair with Bill Clinton. She was found dead with a gunshot wound to the head at 7 1/2 months pregnant. Death was an apparent suicide.

Larry Guerrin: Was killed in February 1987 while investigating the INSLAW case.

Kevin Ives & Don Henry: Initial cause of death was reported to be the result of falling asleep on a railroad track in Arkansas on August 23, 1987. This ruling was reported by the State medical examiner Fahmy Malak. Later it was determined that Kevin died from a crushed skull prior to being placed on the tracks. Don had been stabbed in the back. Rumors indicate that they might have stumbled upon a Mena drug operation.

Keith Coney: Keith had information on the Ives/Henry deaths. Died in a motorcycle accident in July 1988 with unconfirmed reports of a high speed car chase.

Keith McKaskle: McKaskle has information on the Ives/Henry deaths. He was stabbed to death in November 1988.

Gregory Collins: Greg had information on the Ives/Henry deaths. He died from a gunshot wound to the face in January 1989.

Jeff Rhodes: He had information on the deaths of Ives, Henry & McKaskle. His burned body was found in a trash dump in April 1989. He died of a gunshot wound to the head and there was some body mutilation, leading to the probably speculation that he was tortured prior to being killed.

James Milam: Milam had information on the Ives & Henry deaths. He was decapitated. The state Medical examiner, Fahmy Malak, initially ruled death due to natural causes.

Richard Winters: Winters was a suspect in the deaths of Ives & Henry. He was killed in a "robbery" in July 1989 which was subsequently proven to be a setup.

Jordan Kettleson: Kettleson had information on the Ives & Henry deaths. He was found shot to death in the front seat of his pickup in June 1990.

Alan Standorf: An employee of the National Security Agency in electronic intelligence. Standorf was a source of information for Danny Casalaro who was investigating INSLAW, BCCI, etc. Standorf's body was found in the backseat of a car at Washington National Airport on Jan 31, 1991.

Danny was found dead in a bathtub in a Sheraton Hotel room in Martinsburg, West Virginia. Danny was staying at the hotel while keeping appointments in the DC area pertinent to his investigation. He was found with his wrists slashed. At least one, and possibly both of his wrists were cut 10 times. All of his research materials were missing and have never been recovered.

Victor Raiser: The National Finance Co-Chair for "Clinton for President." He died in a airplane crash on July 30, 1992.

R. Montgomery Raiser: Also involved in the Clinton presidential campaign. He died in the same plane crash as Victor.

Paul Tully: Tulley was on the Democratic National Committee. He was found dead of unknown causes in his hotel room on September 24, 1992. No autopsy was ever allowed.

Ian Spiro: Spiro had supporting documentation for grand jury proceedings on the INSLAW case. His wife and 3 children were found murdered on November 1, 1992 in their home. They all died of gunshot wounds to the head. Ian's body was found several days later in a parked car in the Borego Desert. Cause of death? The ingestion of cyanide. FBI report indicated that Ian had murdered his family and then committed suicide.

Paula Gober: A Clinton speech writer. She died in a car accident on December 9, 1992 with no known witnesses.

Jim Wilhite: Wilhite was an associate of Mack McClarty's former firm. Wilhite died in a skiing accident on December 21, 1992. He also had extensive ties to Clinton with whom he visited by telephone just hours before his death.

Steve Willis, Robert Williams, Todd McKeahan & Conway LeBleu: Died Feburary 28, 1993 by gunfire at Waco. All four were examined by a pathologist and died from identical wounds to the left temple. All four had been body guards for Bill Clinton, three while campaigning for President and when he was Governor of Arkansas. They also were the ONLY 4 BATF agents killed at Waco.

A videotape made by a firefighter was seized by the Marines. All four men had escorted Clinton on his flight to the carrier Roosevelt shortly before their deaths.

John Crawford: An attorney with information on INSLAW. He died from a heart attack in Tacoma in April of 1993.

John Wilson: Found dead from an apparent hanging suicide on May 18, 1993. He was a former Washington DC council member and claimed to have info on Whitewater.

Paul Wilcher: A lawyer who was investigating drug running out of Mena, Arkansas and who also sought to expose the "October Surprise", BCCI and INSLAW. He was found in his Washington DC apartment dead of unknown causes on June 22, 1993.

Vincent Foster: A White House deputy counsel and long-time personal friend of Bill and Hillary's. Found on July 20, 1993, dead of a gunshot wound to the mouth -- a death ruled suicide. Many different theories on this case! Readers are encouraged to read our report in Strange Deaths.

Jon Parnell Walker: An investigator for the RTC who was looking into the linkage between the Whitewater and Madison S&L bankruptcy. Walker "fell" from the top of the Lincoln Towers Building.

Stanley Heard & Steven Dickson: They were members of the Clinton health care advisory committee. They died in a plane crash on September 10, 1993.

Gunned down in his car on September 26, 1993 near the intersection of Chenal Parkway and Highway 10 west of Little Rock. Parks was shot through the rear window of his car. The assailant then pulled around to the driver's side of Park's car and shot him three more times with a 9mm pistol. His family reported that shortly before his death, they were being followed by unknown persons, and their home had been broken into (despite a top quality alarm system). Parks had been compiling a dossier on Clinton's illicit activities. The dossier was stolen.

Ed Willey: A Clinton fundraiser. He died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound on November 30, 1993. His death came the same day his wife, Kathleen, was sexually assaulted in the White House by Bill Clinton.

Gandy Baugh: Baugh was Lasater's attorney and committed suicide on January 8, 1994. Baugh's partner committed suicide exactly one month later on February 8, 1994.

Calvin Walraven: 24 year on Walraven was a key witness against Jocelyn Elder's son's drug case. Walraven was found dead in his apartment with a gunshot wound to the head. Tim Hover, a Little Rock police spokesman says no foul play is suspected.

Alan G. Whicher: Oversaw Clinton's Secret Service detail. In October 1994 Whicher was transferred to the Secret Service field office in the Murrah Building in Oklahoma City. On July 26th, Garrett canceled an afternoon meeting with his lawyer because he had to meet some people at the San Fransisco airport. Three hours later he was found floating in the bay under the Golden Gate Bridge.

Ron Brown:. The Commerce Secretary died on April 3, 1996, in an Air Force jet carrying Brown and 34 others, including 14 business executives on a trade mission to Croatia, crashed into a mountainside. The Air Force, in a 22-volume report issued in June of 1996, confirmed its initial judgment that the crash resulted from pilot errors and faulty navigation equipment At the time of Brown's death, Independent Counsel Daniel Pearson was seeking to determine whether Brown had engaged in several sham financial transactions with longtime business partner Nolanda Hill shortly before he became secretary of commerce.

Charles Meissner: died: UNK - Following Ron Brown's death, John Huang was placed on a Commerce Department contract that allowed him to retain his security clearance
by Charles Meissner. Shortly thereafter, Meissner died in the crash of a small plane. He was an Assistant Secretary of Commerce for International Economic Policy.

William Colby: Retired CIA director was found dead on May 6,1996 after his wife reported him missing on April 27,1996. Apparently, Colby decided to go on a impromptu canoeing excursion and never returned. Colby who had just started writing for Strategic Investment newsletter, worried many in the intelligent community. Colby's past history of divulging CIA secrets in the past were well known. Strategic Investor had covered the Vince Foster suicide and had hired handwriting experts to review Foster's suicide note.

Admiral Jeremy Boorda: Died on May 16,1996 after he went home for lunch and decided to shoot himself in the chest (by one report, twice) rather than be interviewed by Newsweek magazine that afternoon. Explanations for Boorda's suicide focused on a claim that he was embarrassed over two "Valor" pins he was not authorized to wear.

Lance Herndon: Herndon a 41 year old computer specialist and a prominent entrepreneur who received a presidential appointment in 1995 died August 10, 1996 under suspicious circumstances. Police said no weapons were found at his mansion, adding that Mr. Herndon had not been shot or stabbed and there was no evidence of forced entry or theft.

Neil Moody: Died -August 25, 1996 Following Vincent Foster's murder, Lisa Foster married James Moody, a judge in Arkansas, on Jan 1, 1996. Near the time Susan McDougal first went to jail for contempt, Judge Moor's son, Neil died in a car crash. There were other reports that Neil Moody had discovered something very unsettling among his stepmother's private papers and was threatening to go public with it just prior to the beginning of the Democratic National Convention. He was alleged to have been talking to Bob Woodward of the Washington Post about a blockbuster story. Witnesses said they saw Neil Moody sitting in his car arguing with another person just prior to His car suddenly speeding off out of control and hitting a brick wall.

Barbara Wise: Wise a 14-year Commerce Department employee found dead and partially naked in her office following a long weekend. She worked in the same section as John Huang. Officially, she is said to have died of natural causes.

Doug Adams: Died January 7, 1997- A lawyer in Arkansas who got involved trying to help the people who were being swindled out of their life savings. Adams was found in his vehicle with a gunshot wound to his head in a Springfield Mo. hospital parking lot.

Mary C. Mahoney: 25, murdered at the Georgetown Starbuck's coffee bar over the 4th of July '97 weekend. She was a former White House intern who worked with John Huang. Apparently she knew Monica Lewinsky and her sexual encounters with Bill Clinton. Although not verified, it has been said that Lewinsky told Linda Tripp that she did not want to end up like Mahoney.

Ronald Miller: Suddenly took ill on October 3rd,1997 and steadily worsened until his death 9 days later. (This pattern fits Ricin poisoning.) Owing to the strangeness of the illness, doctors at the Integris Baptist Medical Center referred the matter to the Oklahoma State Medical Examiner's Office. The Oklahoma State Medical Examiner's Office promptly ran tests on samples of Ron Miller's blood, but has refused to release the results or even to confirm that the tests were ever completed.

Had been investigated by authorities over the sale of his company, Gage Corp. to Dynamic Energy Resources, Inc. was the man who tape recorded Gene and Nora Lum and turned those tapes (and other records) over to congressional oversight investigators. The Lums were sentenced to prison for campaign finance violations, using "straw donors" to conceal the size of their contributions to various candidates. Indeed, Dynamic Energy Resources, Inc. had hired Ron Brown's son Michael solely for the purpose of funneling $60,000 through him to the Commerce Secretary, according to Nolanda Hill's testimony.

Sandy Hume: On Sunday, February 22nd, 1998, Sandy Hume, the 28 year old son of journalist Britt Hume, was reportedly found dead in his Arlington, Virginia home. Aside from the statement that this was an "apparent" suicide, there remains in place a total media blackout on this story, possibly out of concern that the actual facts will not withstand public scrutiny. Worked for Hill magazine, about Congress for Congress.

Jim McDougal: Bill and Hillary Clinton friend, banker, and political ally, sent to prison for eighteen felony convictions. A key whitewater witness, dies of a heart attack on March, 8 1998. As of this writing allegations that he was given an injection of the diuretic lasix has not been denied or confirmed.
Died on March 8, 1998

Johnny Lawhon: 29, died March 29, 1998- The Arkansas transmission specialist who discovered a pile of Whitewater documents in the trunk of an abandoned car on his property and turned them over to Starr, was killed in a car wreck two weeks after the McDougal death.. Details of the "accident" have been sketchy -- even from the local Little Rock newspaper.

Charles Wilbourne Miller: 63, was found dead of a gunshot wound to the head on November 17, 1998 in a shallow pit about 300 yards from his ranch house near Little Rock. Police found a .410 gauge shotgun near Miller's body and a Ruger .357-caliber revolver submerged in water. Investigators concluded the Ruger was the weapon used by Miller to kill himself. Yet, two rounds in the handgun's cylinder had been spent.

He had long served as executive vice president and member of the board of directors for a company called Alltel and was deeply involved in his own software engineering company until the day he died. Alltel is the successor to Jackson Stephens' Systematics, the company that provided the software for the White House's "Big Brother" data base system and that was behind the administration's plan to develop the secret computer "Clipper" chip to bug every phone, fax and email transmission in America.

Carlos Ghigliotti: 42, was found dead in his home just outside of Washington D.C. on April 28, 2000. There was no sign of a break-in or struggle at the firm of Infrared Technology where the badly decomposed body of Ghigliotti was found. Ghigliotti had not been seen for several weeks.

Ghigliotti, a thermal imaging analyst hired by the House Government Reform Committee to review tape of the siege, said he determined the FBI fired shots on April 19, 1993. The FBI has explained the light bursts on infrared footage as reflections of sun rays on shards of glass or other debris that littered the scene.

"I conclude this based on the groundview videotapes taken from several different angles simultaneously and based on the overhead thermal tape," Ghigliotti told The Washington Post last October. "The gunfire from the ground is there, without a doubt."

Ghigliotti said the tapes also confirm the Davidians fired repeatedly at FBI agents during the assault, which ended when flames raced through the compound. About 80 Branch Davidians perished that day, some from the fire, others from gunshot wounds.

Mark Corallo, a spokesman for the congressional committee chaired by Rep. Dan Burton, R-Ind., said that police found the business card of a committee investigator in Ghigliotti's office. Corallo said Ghigliotti's work for the committee ended some time ago.

Tony Moser: 41, was killed as he crossed a street in Pine Bluff, Ark on on June 10, 2000. Killed 10 days after being named a columnist for the Democrat-Gazette newspaper and two days after penning a stinging indictment of political corruption in Little Rock.

Police have concluded that no charges will be filed against the unnamed driver of a 1995 Chevrolet pickup, which hit Moser as he was walking alone in the middle of unlit Rhinehart Road about 10:10 p.m

Police say they have ruled out foul play and will file no charges against the driver because he was not intoxicated and there was no sign of excessive speed.

Over the last five weeks, Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York has featured in her campaign stump speeches the story of a health care horror: an uninsured pregnant woman who lost her baby and died herself after being denied care by an Ohio hospital because she could not come up with a $100 fee.

The woman, Trina Bachtel, did die last August, two weeks after her baby boy was stillborn at O'Bleness Memorial Hospital in Athens, Ohio. But hospital administrators said Friday that Ms. Bachtel was under the care of an obstetrics practice affiliated with the hospital, that she was never refused treatment and that she was, in fact, insured.

"We implore the Clinton campaign to immediately desist from repeating this story," said Rick Castrop, chief executive officer of the O'Bleness Health System.

Linda M. Weiss, a spokeswoman for the not-for-profit hospital, said the Clinton campaign had never contacted the hospital to check the accuracy of the story, which Mrs. Clinton had first heard from a Meigs County, Ohio, sheriff's deputy in late February.

A Clinton spokesman, Mo Elleithee, said candidates would frequently retell stories relayed to them, vetting them when possible. "In this case, we did try but were not able to fully vet it," Mr. Elleithee said. "If the hospital claims it did not happen that way, we respect that."

The sheriff's deputy, Bryan Holman, had played host to Mrs. Clinton in his home before the Ohio primary. Deputy Holman said in a telephone interview that a conversation about health care led him to relate the story of Ms. Bachtel. He never mentioned the name of the hospital that supposedly turned her away because he did not know it, he said.

Deputy Holman knew Ms. Bachtel's story only secondhand, having learned it from close relatives of the woman. Ms. Bachtel's relatives did not return phone calls Friday.

As Deputy Holman understood it, Ms. Bachtel had died of complications from a stillbirth after being turned away by a local hospital for her failure to pay $100 upfront.

"I mentioned this story to Senator Clinton, and she apparently took to it and liked it," Deputy Holman said, "and one of her aides said she'd be using it at some rallies."

Indeed, saying that the story haunted her, Mrs. Clinton repeatedly offered it as a dire example of a broken health care system. At one March rally in Wyoming, for instance, she referred to Ms. Bachtel, a 35-year-old who managed a Pizza Hut, as a young, uninsured minimum-wage worker, saying, "It hurts me that in our country, as rich and good of a country as we are, this young woman and her baby died because she couldn't come up with $100 to see the doctor."

Mrs. Clinton does not name Ms. Bachtel or the hospital in her speeches. As she tells it, the woman was turned away twice by a local hospital when she was experiencing difficulty with her pregnancy. "The hospital said, 'Well, you don't have insurance.' She said, 'No, I don't.' They said, 'Well, we can't see you until you give $100.' She said, 'Where am I going to get $100?'

"The next time she came back to the hospital, she came in an ambulance," Mrs. Clinton continued. "She was in distress. The doctors and the nurses worked on her and couldn't save the baby."

Since Ms. Bachtel's baby died at O'Bleness Memorial Hospital, the story implicitly and inaccurately accuses that hospital of turning her away, said Ms. Weiss, the spokeswoman for O'Bleness Memorial said. Instead, the O'Bleness health care system treated her, both at the hospital and at the affiliated River Rose Obstetrics and Gynecology practice, Ms. Weiss said.

The hospital would not provide details about the woman's case, citing privacy concerns; she died two weeks after the stillbirth at a medical center in Columbus.

"We reviewed the medical and patient account records of this patient," said Mr. Castrop, the health system's chief executive. Any implication that the system was "involved in denying care is definitely not true."

Although Mrs. Clinton has told the story repeatedly, it first came to the attention of the hospital after The Washington Post cited it as a staple of her stump speeches on Thursday. That brought it to the attention of The Daily Sentinel in Pomeroy, Ohio, which published an article on Friday.

Neither paper named the hospital or challenged Mrs. Clinton's account.

Before you throw Clinton under the bus do some serious research on Obama because once he gets the nomination you cannot call DNC and say "sorry, we have changed our mind about him" You may want to do that if he gets the nomination and the Republicans and the media start releasing some hidden things about him ..
Its amazing how some people are falling for this Change motto. Obama isn't changing anything. He is doing what others have done- saying one thing and then doing another. He talks against Nafta then tells the Canadians not to worry -its just campaign talk. When he is confronted with it he lies until there is evidence, then he give another speech to cover it up. He tells you he worked for slumlord Rezko for "5 hours"- another lie, there is a long association between them and hundreds of thousands of dollars in deals and influence. He says he didnt hear racist Pastor Wrights cursing of American and the n when he is confronted with the evidence he gives another speech to actually defend that church. He takes money from gas and oil companies and then says he will not be controlled by lobbyists. He is for the "people voting" but then tries to stop the Florida vote because he lost here after camapaigning on T.V. He says he is for Health care and the poor yet his wife works for the Univ of Chicago hospital that charges minorities without insurance 5 times more than whites with it. Michelle says she came from a poor background, yet her upper middle calss brick home shows what a farce that is. Obama was handed legislation in illinois and he claimed it as his own after others had worked hard on it- he steam rolled others there and then spit in their face. He says he was "against the war but has voted numerous times to keep on funding it and he even voted aginst troop withdrawals. Wake up people. The list goes on and on. Who knows what the Republicans will dig up on him when they are backed to the wall. Obama missed his calling, he would be a good replacement for Rev. Wright. Wake up America before its too late!

So when it comes to policing their own party they are willing to disenfranchise the voters of the state of michigan. Where Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson when you need them. Gentlement this is a real issue that you could use to get a photo op and it's valid to boot. It this the Wright thing to do?

First off the Repb Leg. voted to move up the primary.I live in Fla and Obama ran ads on MSNBC & CNN in Fla.I don't hear the media on this. i don't think it was a coincidence the ads stopped on the day we voted. Lets hear something Obamaites.

Lets try and get out of La La Land. There is no way Mi. and Fla. can be discounted by any foolish rules made that can, and will be "unmade". The stupidity of the Dem party "Punishing" these two states when others moved their Primary/Caucus ahead in order for them to have more of a say in the selection of the nominee is in a word "Ridicules". The Convention is where this should and will be worked out by all members.

Let's be real here. If anyone is at fault for the Michigan/Florida predicament, it's the Democratic Party officials of both states who violated party rules and decided to hold contests earlier than allowed. I agree this could hurt Democrats in the general election, but, where blame is concerned, the fingers haven't been pointed in the right direction. Senator Clinton certainly hasn't made the situation any better with her attempts to steal delegates in a very self-serving way. She and other Democratic contenders for president agreed not to campaign in those two states at the request of the DNC, but that was when she thought her nomination was a foregone conclusion. Now Senator Clinton claims to be the Evita Peron of "disenfranchised" voters. What's needed in this process right now is a heavy dose of honesty. Michigan and Florida Democratic officials have none to blame but themselves for the debacle they've created, and Senator Clinton's disingenuous appeal for fairness deserves to be ignored. If Democrats fail to win the White House in November, I know in which direction my finger will be pointing.

Posted by: leo2thenet | April 5, 2008 2:26 PM | Report abuse

If the DNC does not find a way to get a fair vote and count it in Michigan, I will not vote Democratic and will withhold funds to the DNC. The DNC is not God, and they are disenfranchising voters. They can tell MI to find a way to vote and help pay for it. They sure do want our money. And if Obama stands in the way I won't vote for him. If you tried to disenfranchise a state that was primarily black voters how would he like that? jm

This is no blow at all! All along the best thing for Hillary Clinton is to get to Denver and have them seated as is there! This is a win for her! On National TV the Democratic Party is not going to kick 2 states out of the Presidential selection process! Hillary Stand strong and fight for us and know that we have your back! NO DEALS>>>DENVER IS OUR FRIEND!

Posted by: snags85 | April 5, 2008 2:09 PM | Report abuse

This is not just a blow to the Clinton campaign - it's a blow to the Democratic Party. Michigan voters will not forget what the Obama campaign did to them come November, if he's the nominee and Florida voters will think the same if there delegates are not seated in a way that reflects the will of the Democratic primary voters.
There will be fall-out from other states as well who look at the unfairness and hypocritical enforcement of "rules" that only punish the voters in these 2 states who were caught in the middle of something they did not create.
I thought the Democratic party first and foremost was about democracy, that each and every vote does count. But obviously slavishly abiding by rules in some instances and then totally disregarding them in others (see article in "The Jewish Herald Voice" by journalist Michael C. Duke, dated 4/3/08. I'm new at the "internet" so I don't have a link but you can contact Mr. Duke at "michaeld@jhronlin.com") like some of the caucus states. The article I refer to above was about what has been happening in Texas to determine the delegates from the caucuses for the Democrats. It makes a mockery of our whole voting system. We might as well be a 3rd world nation - considering how votes have been determined using the caucus system this year.
By the way I live in a caucus state and I witnessed first hand the chaos and lack of organization which was rampant throughout the whole county - county and a state which will undoubtedly go "red" come November no matter who the Democratic candidate is.

NEO-CONS FOR HILLARY ! ! !

Pretend that you're a Democrat (Hillary supporter)

Smear Obama with any of the following:

1. He's a Muslim
2. He's not Black enough
3. He's not White enough
4. He's not patriotic
5. He's a racist

note: never address any "issues", instead smear him with any association: his pastor, someone who endorses him, his wife, his father, etc. always make racist commments (i.e. compare him to Jim Jones), put his middle name in capital letters...and MOST IMPORTANT repeat it over and over (check FoxNews for latest smear)

remember: Americans are stupid! (look how we got them in the Iraq war!)

if you repeat anything enough, they'll believe it.

then

SAY IF OBAMA IS NOMINATED, YOU WON'T VOTE DEMOCRATIC IN NOVEMBER

* note: this is generally true, but if Hillary is nominated, it doesn't matter who gets elected...you can vote for whomever you want....McCain is slightly better, but both are in our lobby's pocket, i.e. both Clinton and McCain will put America in our WARS

THE NEOCON LOBBY OWNS BOTH MCCAIN AND HILLARY.

but not Obama

WE MUST STOP OBAMA !

You go ahead and enjoy making fun of people in FL and MI now because they will have the last laugh in the general sending Barrack back to Chicago as the junior senator.

Ah Cowboy...sorry that the rules have been enforced in Michigan and Florida. Those voters have no one to be mad at than there own Democratic "leaders." Vote those sorry people out of office for screwing up so bad and start with Gov. Granholm in Michigan who tried to move her primary up to benefit her buddy Hillary. Leanr a little context and history Cowboy. Why did Florida and Michigan try to move up in the first place? What was the motivation? It was to front load the nomination process in Hillary's favor. The thinking was she'd win thse small and large primaries and create a tsunami of delegate victories that swamped Obama and Edwards and the other pretenders. But when Obama kicked her butt in Iowa and the DeanNC didn't back down to her demands, Hillary was left on an island. In Iowa and New Hampshire she told the voters there that Michigan and Florida wouldn't count. Don't worry, she told them, rules are rules. Then she got buried on Super Tuesday and her pathway was blocked by Obama's stellar campaign. What to do? So now Hillary is all about counting Michigan (where she beat some guy named Sen. Uncommitted by just 15 points) and Florida, where she got by with name recognition from ex-New Yorker bluehairs sunning their leathery bodies in the coastal sun. Obama said we can revote in Michigan as long as you allow all people to revote. Hillary said NO, anyone who cast a vote for a Republican knowing that their vote would not count wouldn't be allowed to revote. Hillary only wanted people who voted for her in that joke of a first primary to get the chance to revote. Don't get me started on Florida's incompetence of running a fair election. Three presidential elections in a row and they're no closer to a clean election than some backwater South American nation. The entire Florida state legislature down there should be recalled, as far as I'm concerned. And Cowboy, Obama has played the race card? That's laughable. You're kidding right?

Posted by: markiebee001 | April 5, 2008 1:41 PM | Report abuse

If Obama was confident, he would have supported a re-vote early on in the process. His strategy was based on FL and MI not being counted from the start of his campaign. Now that people are getting to know him, he is losing the support of common sense thinking Democrats. His numbers have gone from a 16-point lead over Hillary in February to 3.

Obama supporters are energized by his elegant speeches and the belief that he will end the war in Iraq. I really do not believe Obama is going to end the war. We have heard two different opinions from Obama advisors about removing troops as well as Obama wanting to keep a strike force. We need to know how many troops will be left for a strike force. Will it be 60,000- 80,000 troops. He has been moving to the center on this issue preparing for general, so you folks that believe Obama will end this war will be sadly mistaken if he is elected.

Posted by: Skinsfan1978 | April 5, 2008 1:40 PM | Report abuse

Hillary's goose steppers really need to understand that Obama has won and she has lost. All this shilling for a lost cause, Hillary, only enhances McCain's chances. Of course that is probably the idea, given how many of Hillary's supporters are Rush Limbaugh dittoheads. The rest will vote Obama, they have nowhere else to go. The Clintons and the party have taken Black America for granted for far too long. In the words of Harold Washington, "It's our turn"! Indeed it is, you're out Hillary!

Obama and his Obominites want it both ways and when they can't get it they throw the race card and now blocked a re-vote

Cowards.

This really isn't about democrat and republican anymore, and anyone that thinks it is, is suffering from very limited mentality. It's really about integrity versus manipulation, and about heart versus force. The democratic party made the primary rules and Florida and Michigan violated them. The path of integrity is to abide by the rules, even if they aren't fair, since everyone knew them in advance. Hillary is not showing integrity by trying to manipulate around the rules to get elected. All this manipulation and lack of integrity is what we all are sick of from BushCo, so why sign up for more?
Similarly, McCain is about force. Problem? Blow it up! He's also unpredictable and angry, a bad mix in a president who can create or destroy world peace. BushCo has shown us that force is a zero-sum game nowadays: whenever you use it, you lose something else. We've lost our economy and the good will of the world. We don't need any more of that from McCain. McCain's trying to use 1900's solutions on 2000's problems. Contrast that with Obama, who has faced up to America's race issue squarely: http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/g/a/2008/04/04/notes040408.DTL&nl=fix

If Florida and Michigan is not counted, this nomination is flawed and should be rejected. Obama wants to keep Florida and Michigan out which in terms of population is equal to keeping 20 states out ( like Arkansas, Kansas, Utah, Nevada, New Mexico, West Virginia, Nebraska, Idaho, Maine, New Hampshire, Hawaii, Rhode Island, Montana, Delaware, South Dakota, Alaska, North Dakota, Vermont, Washington DC and Wyoming).

I will be a democrat proudly voting for McCain, if Michigan and Florida are not counted democratically. Time for bumber stickers "McCain Democrats"

scharb-Yes the last few years have been hell. But, when it comes to a President with a 33% Approval, and a Congress that President McCain was often at odds with, having an 11% Approval;

I would have to say Congress is NOT the Answer, but more likely the Problem!

McRomney is NOT Establishment! It, might be the solution!

IT, is most definitely EXECUTIVE-as opposed to Congessional!(Legislative!)

Lets be fair on this. The Clinton campaign aggressively fought a caucus plan that was ready to run almost two months ago. So, they didn't so much want a revote, as they wanted one on terms that were most likely to benefit them.
