The Election is rigged against Obama , we should have seen Media coverage all over this to be fair and balanced about Creditability issues and whose has the Best Judgment to be President , this is a Joke ; the Clintons are duping us all and the media is covering this up

The Lawsuit http://www.paulvclinton.com/060817_second_amended_complaint.swf
In an astonishing ruling by the Judge [on Friday, April 25,2008], Hillary Clinton may NOT be deposed about her role in the illegal solicitation and cover up of the largest contribution made to her Senate campaign until after the presidential election.
This is the same contribution Hillary denied knowing about or receiving when Lloyd Grove of the Washington Post asked her specifically about it and her relationship with the donor, Peter Paul, in August 2000.

I'm not a Hilary supporter, but I think the 'former Clinton pastor' mentioned in the article is actually from a town called Clinton, not a pastor *to* the Clintons. Therefore, no story.
Posted by: lebrooks | May 1, 2008 9:17 PM
Rev. Calvin Butts of Harlem's Abyssinian Church, whose endorsement Clinton sought and happily received in a joint press conference, invited Fidel Castro to speak at his church and said that Fidel was always welcome. Does Bayh think the Republicans won't use that if she's the nominee?
Posted by: timbnyc | May 1, 2008 2:03 PM
Makes you wonder how people like Bayh get elected in the first place. (Dumb) What a totally ridiculous argument. Put in context what little might pass for dirt on Obama to the GOP attack machine, they will need an earthmover to show Hiliary's.

Is It Hillary's Turn to 'Denounce and Reject' a Problematic Pastor?

The blogs are talking about it, but the mainstream news is not. Still, this is interesting. Blogs such as AdvanceAmericablog, commondreams.org, the National Journal's Hotline, and wakeupfromyourslumber.com are talking about the scandal that has enveloped the former Pastor of the Clintons, but it appears only the Utica, NY newspaper is covering the story. The rest of the mainstream media is silent. Perhaps the story isn't divisive enough for the mainstream media to take notice. Of course, it is as unfair to blame Hillary Clinton for her former pastor's abuses just as it is unfair to blame Barack Obama for Rev. Wright. Still, that means the mainstream media is far more enamored of condemning Obama for his Rev. Wright's tirades about 9/11 and race than it is concerned with the plight of a seven year old girl abused by Hillary Clinton's former pastor. From the Utica Observer-Dispatch:
UTICA -- When the Rev. William Procanick put his hand on the Bible during his sex-abuse trial in Oneida County Court earlier this year, he swore to tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth.
But as the former Clinton pastor was sentenced Friday to three years in prison for inappropriately touching a 7-year-old girl at his home last March, Judge Michael L. Dwyer said Procanick sacrificed his honesty the day he testified.
"As a minister of God, you got on the stand and you lied," Dwyer told Procanick, the 54-year-old former pastor of Resurrection Assembly of God church on Kirkland Avenue.
A jury found Procanick guilty Jan. 22 of first-degree sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child.
Let me be clear here. Hillary Clinton has nothing to apologize for, nor should she feel tainted because her former Pastor, William Procanick has been convicted of sexual child abuse of a seven year old girl. By the same token, Barack Obama has no responsibility for the words of Rev. Wright, nor for the words of his successors in the pulpit. All of these people have personal responsibility, and Rev. Procanick is going to be answering for his crime. Hillary Clinton has no need to "denounce and reject" the man. Indeed, it may be a good thing if she were to express her sorrow for his crimes and compassion for those the man hurt. But she has no obligation.
The irresponsibility here is on the media, who wish to blow out of proportion those issues which will inevitably divide Americans, by focusing on the behavior of Barack Obama's former Pastor, while ignoring other transgressions by the pastors of Presidential candidates, even though Hillary Clinton's former Pastor has actually been convicted of a crime.

I too think Dubai is lovely and is a model for the Middle East on many levels and concur that achieving financial superiority makes more sense than pursuing military jihad, but I don't think they or any other foreign country should own our ports.

here's GOP ammo for Clinton: 1)pending election fraud case in which she has to testify and there are claims that she lied under prior sworn testimony - Whitewatergate 2?; 2) ever changing positions- pro/anti Nafta; Columbia Free Trade, gas tax holiday, etc etc; 3)Bosnia sniper fire and her whole credibility question; 4) likeability factor...5) and let's not forget the unknown contributors to the Clinton Foundation and what they may be expecting to get from the white house if she wins....

A fringe playing, pinko, stool pigeon, with racist/terrorist ties, will never win the White House! Many mainstream Obama supporters are now changing course, intelligently understanding the ramifications. To all those who still "Beleive in Chaotic Change", my question is: How did you guys become such fringe playing Radicals? And, where do you get this fantastic dope you on?

"We hear time and time again voters are tired of this," Michelle Obama said in an interview the couple gave to NBC's "Today" show.

And the GOP would take a hands off on the Lewinski, whitewater, Peter Paul, Hsu, China, South America issues?
I see it now...an attack ad with Bill's "I never had sex with that woman" ...flash to...Hillary swearing not to stand by her man...then to Hillary blaming the right wing press attach machine followed by Bill's dissertation on the subtleties of is...followed by the pronouncement of his impeachement...and then a nice ending with the Rev Wright himself talking about how Bill "rode us dirty"
And we haven't even started on the recent baggage with Bill's dealings in Dubai, China and South America. Yes, her baggage has been rummaged, but she still has plenty in the trunk we haven't seen yet.

The Clintons former pastor was sentenced Friday to THREE YEARS IN PRISON for inappropriately touching a 7yr old in his home last March by judge Micheal Dwyer.
Accountable by Association ??
Why is Hillary pastor getting a pass. Why isn"t this story in the news?
THERE IS CLEARLY A DOUBLE STANDARD HERE or are we saying child molestation is OK in America, just like we don't ask Catholics to denounce, reject the Pope who has shielded and harbored their thousands of priest who have molested tens of thousands of young children.
What's wrong with our thinking, There is something fundamentally wrong with this picture.

Posted by: JakeD | May 1, 2008 11:29 AM
Sen Bayh says the Republicans will come after Obama and holler Wright! Wright! Wright! until everybody gets it.
But there will probably come a time when folks get sick of all this and so they are ready to hear about or have recalled for them the unsavory associations in the Clinton's past. And McCain's. Guilt by who you accepted money from. Who you hung out with. Who you pardoned. Who you spoke abusively to. Who you hugged and sucked up to.
Or maybe even how to ease our pain from all the woes in our material lives, and not just a placebo or a band aid or a mirage.
Why don't they use some of the oil they keep putting in strategic reserves?
Posted by: Jobless old white vet | May 1, 2008 11:25 AM
Listen to you folks...I am reading all these responses expressing worry about Rev. Wright and Republican tactics to suggesting a Bloomberg/Edwards ticket for the Democratic Party.
Obama has distanced himself enough from Rev. Wright that I don't think he will be comfortable enough to attend Trinity Church. By comfortable I mean, harsh feelings between Wright and himself as well as the congregation looking down on Obama. The Republicans will continue to make an issue of Wright regardless but they know that Obama has the strongest possibility to become the next President.
America has gotten to know Obama and Hillary a lot over the last 15 months. The Democratic turnout for these two candidates has set a record pace. A Bloomberg/Edwards ticket would lose. Hell, even Kerry wasn't able to carry North Carolina in the general election with Edwards on the ticket as VP.

Senator Bayh should really be directing his attention to the concerns of his state and how Clinton's policies would impact his constituents. So far, he's kept his mouth shut while she's lied on the stump and in ads showcasing the Magnequench plant--blaming such closures on Bush policies. But Bayh and Magnequench executives have previously stated on record that Bill Clinton's administration is responsible for this particular problem, along with much of Indiana's economic woes. Wouldn't it be better if Senator Bayh focused himself on relevant issues, rather than distracting the voters?

How could a independent ticket with Bloomberg with Edwards on the ticket as VP ever loose?...they'll get most of the democratic vote of the loser of primary...they''ll get a lot of the republican vote...most of the independent voters..they'll get most of Edwards supporters...all most all of the moderate..they certainly won't vote for a far liberal left winger ...which ever way the DNC decides to Michigan and Florida will not please those people..like myself...the voters were punished for something they had no part of......then after Bloomberg and Edwards win..everyone will rally around......

Facts are a stubborn thing. Obama cannot close his 20 year old relationship with Wright because there is so much video evidence against it. On the TV program THE VIEW, Obama declared that Reverend Wright accepted that his view were inappropriate and mischaracterized. That it had offended many people. Then weeks later Wright goes on a national Hate America Press Tour? This was a blatant lie. Or worse, Obama was fooled by Wright which is kind of scary. That a possible next president can be played by a character such as Wright. Check the video evidence yourselves. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j6J7yJ9R5p0

William Hagee's (McCain's spiritual advisor) comments about Katrina devastating New Orleans because of a gay pride parade, or blaming 9/11 on America's support of Israel are far more damaging that Reverend Wrights.
The media isn't covering it because without a close election - their rating are in the toilet and they lose money.
The media is ruining this country.
Posted by: Horace P Manure | May 1, 2008 10:27 AM
Any diversion will do, eh, Hillary?
I think something like these quotes may provide fodder for the GOP...
Hillary, 04/22: "I want the Iranians to know that if I'm the president, we will attack Iran," Clinton said. "In the next 10 years, during which they might foolishly consider launching an attack on Israel, we would be able to totally obliterate them."
Hillary, 04/30: "Rich people; God love us!"
I am simply amazed, but also really concerned that people continue to support her candidacy. If we enable her to rise in political power, we may actually fare worse than we have in the last eight years. I never thought I would say that, but the more of her you see, the more frightening it all is.
Posted by: Susan | May 1, 2008 10:27 AM
This is hilarious! Sen. Bayh is somewhat dilusional if he thinks that if Hillary somehow ends up being the nominee the Republicans will treat her any differently. There are so many stories about her that are not being covered by the media that will surely come up if she gets elected not to mention everything that we already know with probably a new twist.
There is a $1.2 million law suit against her and her husband.
There is her work in a law firm in San Francisco in which she assisted communist and black panthers.
And the trial with Norman Hsu.
This is ridiculous. Whoever the Democrats elect will face the same attacks coming from Republican operatives. In fact, she will really energize the base more so than Obama.
Posted by: Eros Wong | May 1, 2008 10:20 AM
The Wright issue will be a controversy as long as the mainstream media, Clintonistas, and the obnoxious neocons keep bringing it up. Civilized adults in this country really find the controversy created by the Hillary fools to be quite childish and mundane. I realize the media does not want Obama in the Whitehouse because he might actually use the FCC to eliminate these monopolies. Hopefully after all the damage and deception the Bush administration and propaganda outlets like the NY Times have caused, the people will vote to correct these isuues.

Wright just helped Obama clarify a painfully hard edge. I'm reminded of "You're doing a heck of a job, Brownie," which President Bush said to his Hurricane Katrina director of emergency services while dead bodies rotted in the nearby convention center and basic human needs were not being addressed days after New Orleans flooded.
Pres. Bush's limited capacity for accessing core values enabled Brown's incompetent lack of compassion. The result was devastating. I like the idea of a president who has the capacity to re-examine his religious thinking, and who is capable of wrestling with his conscience - even if it means ditching the guys who married you and baptized your babies. After seeing the results of a president who cannot self-reflect, I like the idea of a president who will ongoingly re-think such radical decisions as war and public policy. Obama didn't say, "heck of a job, Wrightie."
Taking his stand in regard to Wright helped articulate a facet of the gem that is Obama. Same is true for all of us, when we rub up against the sharp edges of our past, we're like rocks in a bag - we either crumble or are polished. I see an even better articulated gem emerging from Wright's shadow.
