Obama Praises Webb and Kaine

BRISTOW, Va. -- Barack Obama was full of praise tonight for Sen. Jim Webb, the popular freshman from Virginia who stayed neutral during the Democratic primary but offered his enthusiastic support on stage at the Nissan Pavilion.

The Marine combat veteran, best-selling author and former Republican is widely discussed as a potential Obama running mate, and it was clear tonight that the presumptive nominee is a big fan. "If you're in a fight, and we're going to be in a fight, you want Jim Webb to have your back," Obama told a cheering crowd, saluting his colleague as "an indispensable voice for change."

But there was another prominent Virginian on stage who had clearly won Obama's heart: Gov. Tim Kaine, one of his earliest high-profile supporters. "There was one person, who about three days after I announced, was willing to stand with me in the seat of the old Confederacy ... and say that the time for change has come," Obama said.

"He's a man with the courage of his convictions ... somebody who like myself practiced civil rights law. Somebody who's shown the ability to manage a city [Richmond] and now manage a state. ... There are a lot of people who are your allies, and a lot of people who you've got commitments to. But you don't always have a lot of friends. The governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia is my friend."

We are having an election for president of the United States.

We are not having a campaign for HATE SOME PEOPLE HAVE LOST THEIR ABILITY TO JUDGE what they perceive as being correct...just because one makes comments to support their view... does not make it TRUE!

Actually,

No one has stood stronger against the war in Iraq than Cynthea McKinney

Senator Obama,

I suggest you nominate Michelle Obama as Vice President.

If she should decline. I suggest Oprah Winfrey.

Should John Mc Cain choose a woman to run against you, you will lose.

My preference to protect the legitimacy of your compaign and the integrity of the computer generated election results gives highest Honours to Cynthea McKinney.

I agree with the writer who said that -- "Obama is god's answer to our prayers is way over the top"

With the NBA Finals on, God has to concentrate on helping players hit jump shots. If he doesn't, they will stop pointing to the sky and thanking him for his help.

Whoever the guy is who said Obama is god's answer to our prayers is way over the top. God has bigger fish to fry than to worry who gets elected the next president of the United States. Besides I think our savior has already appeared. Obama needs someone with several years experience in Washington and in national security affairs to offset his obvious lack of experience and the related perceived weakness. Kaine wouldn't seem to fit the bill and Webb would be marginal.Liberal dems aren't going to decide this election. The more conservative 10-20% independent base is going to decide it.

Eat your heart out when you realize that comments like yours are precisely what will cost him the election. "Unifying" the rich, white collar liberal nation who already agrees 100% with you is not unifying the nation. Obama is having a hard sell on his Unity argument because so far, he hasn't been unified on anything in the senate...he has a 97% liberal voting record!

EAT YOUR HEART OUT, REPUGNANTS !!!!!!

There is "Obama-fever" going on around the country and watch out Repugnants - - the "flu" is going to a PANDEMIC !!!!!

"You mean Bristol, Virginia, right?"

No, it's Bristow, Virginia, outside Manassas where the Nissan Pavillion is located. Where else would you get 10,000 people on short notice during the afternoon of a work day when it's 90 degrees outside?

It's in Northern Virginia--you know, the place that pays for all the roads in the rest of the state, but can't get its own roads fixed. (We get 40 cents back in services for every dollar we pay in taxes)

Steve Boyington- Oh, poor deluded Stevie Boy.

Sorry, ain't hap'ning!

First, Barry will not be allowed to get someone like Webb, or Billary. His Puppet Masters won't allow it.

For the Kennedy/Kerry/Reid/ Pelosi/Daschle/Soros Multi-Headed Hydra; two Choices:

A Socialist Tool to bring in the Hispanics-while adding some Foreign expertise and a semblance of Executive ability, Bill Richardson.

Or, a Bona Fide Military Man to counter McCain's Military strength, while actually still a Boot-Licking Dimocrat Toadie; General Weaselly Clark.

McCain teaming up with a Toadie such as Lieberman, Pawlenty, Crist, or anyone OTHER than an Economic Business Genius-Well, why Bother debating-He Lost!

Read the Article about Un-Employment YET? :-(

Work Visa Overhauls, there McAmnesty?

No creo yo senor!

IF McCain does not Pick Mitt Romney(Who YEAH BABY!-Let's debate!), then I want Mitt and Mike Huckabee to be write ins on a Shared Ticket, and send McLame back to the Senate he loves sooo much! ;~)

Now all he needs to do is find a good VP. This site holds a Vice President Poll every week, so you can see what America thinks. Just visit:

http://www.votenic.com

and help your favorite candidate choose his/her running mate. They started a VP poll last week, and the results from that poll have just been posted. This poll is honest and represents all of America.

Jim Webb is a impressive guy and if he's not the VP this time, has a great shot at some day winning the brass ring of politics. Isn't he the one who said, and I paraphrase, that most politicians in
Washington think they they've done a great job if they can make the other guy look bad and keep from catching the blame for anything.

An interesting picture appears in my mind. Obama and Jim Webb leading a debate against McCain and Joe Lieberman.

Wonder how "Old, blood, and cuts" McCain would do in that debate.

Not just your friend. When, in those dark, long ago days; when we knew it was impossible, but, driven by the FIERCE URGENCY OF NOW, the governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia came out.

Thank you, Sir.

We are presumptive nominee today because YOU knew about the URGENCY.

I was at the rally, and what he actually said was "In politics, there are a lot of people who are your allies, and a lot of people you've got to work with, but you don't always have a lot of friends."
