Obama and Clinton, Together Again

By Jonathan Weisman
BUTTE, Mont. -- Putting their money where their mouths are, Barack Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton will appear together three times over two days next week, raising money for each other and further advancing the Democratic cause of unity.

Sen. Obama, the presumptive Democratic nominee, will go to New York Wednesday night to appear with Sen. Clinton, his vanquished foe for the nomination, at two different fundraisers, one to raise money for his campaign, the other to raise funds to retire her campaign debt.

The following morning, Obama and Clinton will appear together at a women's breakfast and fundraiser for his campaign.

In response to Justadad55+:

You did not properly address the issues I made about Obama in my post, you know why? I do, you know that Obama the gender-biased media and the corrupt DNC where wrong for treating Hillary the way they did, Obama needs Hillary Supporters to win this race, It's ashame you have the cake, but won't be able to eat it too.

You will find out that your candidate Obama is a crook and sham, You will get what you deserved for supporting a candidate just because he's an inspiring speaker sounding that tickles the ear deceiving you all the time for your vote, everything that sounds and looks good is not always good for you. Obama is now known for flip flopping on everything he promised you on the campaign stump and the general haven't even got started good yet.

Flip floppers end up losing elections in the end, John Kerry is a prime example of this happening in the 2004 Presidential Election, once a candidate flip flops on an issue, it's hard for him or her to recuperate from the blunder the damage is now done. the Republicans and the 527's will have a field day on Obama's flip flopping on the issues.

So, have a good time with your charlatan candidate Obama, the majority of the strong PUMA and Hillary Supporters are are not going to unite and pull him out of this mess he dug for himself due to his dishonesty, gender-bias, crooked Chicago politics and race baiting in order to get the majority of the Black vote to help him win the Presidency, I'm an African American who is voting on the isusses and experience, not on race, looks, speaking voice, empty promises, inspiration, or gender.

Well, Ms. Hillary did see stars, she did not break any glass ceilings, but she did break a glass-slipper. It's all over. End of sentence. Good night Princess.

From: Strong PUMA and Hillary Supporters

To: Strong Obama Supporters Whose Been Decieved and Brainwashed, But Dont' Realize It Just Yet.

You Strong Obama Supporters say that PUMA and Hillary Supporters are mad and hurt, because Hillary lost the Primaries,Well, You are so right, We are mad and hurt that Hillary was not treated fairly and just doing the primary season. By the way Hillary did not lose the Primaries she was forced out by the gender-biased media, the corrupt DNC and some Obamabot Congress Leaders along with Obama's Chicago style dirty race baiting politics. Hillary won the popular vote, the whole voting system needs tro be overhauled to reflect the true will of the people, the candidate with the popular fair should be President.

Well, We Puma and strong Hillary Supporters have news for you Obamab Suppoters, We're not going to get over it as you say or suggest, until things are made right towards Hillary and with her strong supporters, if Hillary would have lost the primaries fair and square,PUMA.org and all these other Hillary blogs would not even exist or contined after the primaries, We also would not be protesting by leaving the party and becoming Independent by the masses like myself, voting for McCain, Nader, or just staying home on general election day. We would have accepted the outcome and got behind Obama 100%,if the primaries where conducted on the up and up, but since the gender-biased race-biating media and the Obama campaign unjustly and unfairly stacked the deck against Hillary mainly because she was a woman trying to break the glass ceiling of becoming the first woman President, We are going to do everything within our legal power and avenues to try and block Obama's Presidency, because he's too inexperienced for the job, now he has become a flip flopper and liar.

Obama needs our votes, during the general election, but We or our voices did not count in his opinion during that time, Now Obama needs our donations, support, and vote, Well, Obama blew it for the majority of Hillary supporters who refuse to fall in line and unify around him and the corrupt DNC to help him become President. You will have a few Hillary supporters who would be willing to coward down and vote for your candidate, but not enough to help him win the White House, and since you Obamabots voices are the only voices that counted according to Obama during the primaries, you all should donate all the funds to pay for Obama's Denver Convention, you don't need our help to do this since Obama with his arrogant and elitist self brags constantly that he raised the most campaign funds during the primaries and can even help pay off Hilarry's campiagn debt, Well, we dont' want any of Obama's money to pay offf her debt, because with him he has strings attached to his offer, where if Hillary campaign andf help im win the Presidency he will help pay the debt, then that will make JHIlaary feel and be beholden to him, making her more willing to go out around that nation encouraging people to vote for Obama.

Thanks, but no Thanks, Strong Hillary supporters and her bloggers will help pay her debt off without the help of Obama or his supporters, we want Hillary to be free of debt when she goes to the convention and make her case to the superdelegates that she's the most qualified and experienced to be President as oppose to Obama who just came into the U.S. Senate a couple of years ago, and voted present the majority of times on key bills.

The DNC made an irresponsbile unjust, wrong decision putting this Charlatan Flip Flopper, liar Obama up to being the Democratic Party Nominee in the first place. We mean it, We PUMA and Strong Hillary Supporters are not going to fall in line and unify this party around Obama to help make him President.

We don't trust this Obama, or have enough faith in his ability to effectively perform the duties of the Presidency and Commander and Chief, talk is cheap. So we advise you not to listen to the gender-biased media or the Obama campaign when they state that We will soon come around and unite the party around Obama, because in our strong fact, belief and Opinion, that's just wishful thinking on their part when they state we will evenually come home, they don't control are minds, thoughts, and/or actions like they do some groups and voters, We're not weak-minded or passive when it comes to this issue.

We will not be brain-washed or decieved by sleezy decpetive marketing ploys, campaign ads and earthscattering speeches into accepting Obama, the gender-biased media the Obama camp, the Clintons, the DNC, or Congress can have all the unity campaign stumps, ads, slogans, and speeches all they want, they can just knock themsleves out if they so desire, We will not respond to them and unify, but protest and challenge them, and stay divided until the score has been fairly and justly settled with Hillary and her supporters. we know that Hillary is endorsing Obama just to save her politcal career in the Senate trhough the pressures of the DNC and her workmates in Congress who supported Obama over her.

Posted by: Darrell | July 8, 2008 1:07 AM

Hillary Clinton won the popular vote and we want unity in the party and a debt paid for a great leader ! Hope she's vice president !

Posted by: Peace Out | July 7, 2008 6:49 PM

LOL @ PUMA's - you guys are Republican tools - your group is run by a long time McCain fundraiser.

Posted by: Anonymous | July 7, 2008 6:03 PM

All Obama haters and Clinton worshipers need to get over their hatred and hurts because they are only hurting themselves. Obama will be President no matter how they feel. They just need a higher power to deliver them from their hatred and hurts. Otherwise, they will continue stewing with hurt and hatred to no avail.

Posted by: lclon | July 7, 2008 5:18 PM

Enough already! How can he stand the stench?

Posted by: sawargos | July 7, 2008 2:45 PM

Puma Supporter - I'm with YOU. I will NEVER vote for BO. I'm going to Denver and PROTEST, I feel that strongly about this election.

How DARE the DNC and Superdelegates select the unqualified, inexperienced male over Hillary who won the popular vote and would have the most pledged delegates had the DNC not found a corrupt way to count MI/FL.

We need to take back this party and get rid of Obama.

From: PUMA Supporter

To: Flip Flopper Obama, Obamabots, The gender-biased corrupt DNC, and media.

I hope all Pro Hillary Blogs are sending the Obama Camp, Hillary, The corrupt gender-biased DNC and Media, and Obamabots a clear and strong message that we're not going to fall in line with this Charlatan, Flip Flopper, Lair Obama. We are not going to vote for Obama no way no how, we will vote for Mccain, Nader, or stay home before we give this fraud our vote. We are not listening to Hillary's unity speech, because true Hillary supporters are not stupid, we know that she's being pressured to endorse this fraud or risk being politically black balled by the gender-biased media, some Congress members and the DNC leadership.

Hillary did what she thought she had to do publicly to keep the DNC from damaging her political career even further, but as Pastor Manning says in one of his lateast Youtube videos that Obama is trying to pimp out Hilllary just to help him win the Presidency and then after he's through with her, he will kick her to the curb like he did many of his former associates when they where no longer a Political asset of advantage to him. The DNC Leadership really did not care about Hillary from the beginning of this campaign season, that's why she lacked their support doing the primaries to become the party's nominee.

But in the end, I Pray that Hillary and her supporters have the last laugh in Denver, if the Superdelegates open their eyes and see that Obama is not the one to become our President, but instead realizing that Hillary is the most electible, experienced, and qualified to do the job of President starting "Day One" of stepping into the Oval Office, as opposed to Obama who's just full of hot air flip flops, lies, and beautiful deceptive speeches.

You hit the jackpot. Obama is all that and more.

Posted by: Steven | July 7, 2008 2:29 AM

What if Obama does nothing he promised he would? What if in becoming the "man", he acts like the man? Barack is changing before our very eyes. I don't believe that Barack wants to be the President who leaves Iraq and causes it to devolve into genocide as the world collapses into economic chaos - the prestige lost will be tangible as we see footage of Iran assume leadership of the Middle East and stock markets plummet worldwide. Obama will be in Iraq as long as McCain. This McBush stuff is idiotic. Pull your head out of your rears Obama supporters.

If Clinton does not campaign with the Chosen One all the Obama fans on this website will blame her for his loss in November. So as long as she is blackmailed into endorsing him by the corporate democrat bo$$es, he can pay for her time. He pays for everyone else.

Also Ninak,

for someone who talks about other's slandering and lies- how do you know so much about what went on in the oval office with Ms. Lewinsky??? WHO CARES???? All of their marraiges are their own business- I don't care what they like

(also remember that Barak is only senator from Illinois because the ex senator (R) was involved with his wife in soliciting a third party)

Posted by: Anonymous | July 6, 2008 12:09 PM

Ninak-

So immediately coming out (fall 07 )calling Hillary part of the old school and the problem and stating she lacked judgement, even though he did not provide proof with different policies (if anything hers were more laid out, ambitious and progressive than his) or different voting records (only 6 different votes of significance- of which atleast 50% he was less progressive, in 3 years together in senate) does not qualify as attacking????

He played politics. He gamed her- but he is the ultimate politician, not a "gentleman". He let his advocates create a swirl of the worst type of narrative around her, as a lying powerhungry lady Mcbethian bxxch- and had them create the idea that by hanging on with 50% of the vote- she was doing something awful to the party- starting in FEBRUARY. Now as he reverses every progressive stand (FISA, Death penalty, gun control, faith based initiatives, Iraq, campaign finance, the windfall tax, NAFTA/Free trade, etc.) you all just stand back admiringly.

I am voting for him (as there are no other choices) but I am grossed out.

I really did not want to bust your bubble but the oil companies are not the ones raising prices. The Middle Eastern countries are conspiring by raising the price of a barrel of oil in order to get Obama elected. Think about it. Hamas, the Terrorits (who are part of Saudi), Fidel are jumping in glee because they want Obama in control. The Muslims want to take over the Western World and they are doing a great job in Western Europe and are trying to get their man elected president of the u.s.a.

Has anyone thought of Obama as a sleeper? well, this is a strong possibility. He was raised by a step father who was Muslin and Obama lived in Indonesia during his youth (Indonesia is over 90% Muslim) and has Muslim friends, as he did in the U.S. The Nation of Islam. His father was Muslim, and had a Muslim funeral. His father visited in Indonesia for over a month. His brothers, sister, aunts and uncles, plus step grandmother in Kenya are Muslims. Youths are brainwashed very easily as we have seen in in U.S. We cannot afford to have him in the highest office of the land. He is a liar with a silver tongue. Now he's trying to act like he's a conservative Christian. Why did he stay in a church with Wright as his pastor for over 20 years, saying anti-American sermond, against whities. He says he never heard these sermons. Bull corn. He changes his positions almost daily to suit whomever he is speaking to in order to get their vote. This man is dangerous.

HRC is prostituting herself to Obama and he is enjoying every minute of it. She does not need to do this; she is much stronger and a better candidate than Obama. But she needs her debt paid. Now she is even with her husband. This is politics at its worse. She knows Obama is not worth a damn but she will support him because of her debt and because doing so will enhance her career. This is American politics at its worse.

Hasn't Obama screwed Hilary enough during the primary? The guy just doesn't know when to quit.

Posted by: Jake
---------------
Jake, NOBODY "screwed" Hilliary in the primaries; she, Bill, and her campaign "screwed her and themselves". They ran a lousy campaign, in-fighting throughout the campaign, consistenly broke, and they are the ones who "screwed" Obama time and again with their trash-and-burn tactics of yesteryear. She acted like she was a plantation dowager and Senator Obama was her servant! Didn't you hear her loudly say when she was throwing one of her tempertantrums, "Shame on you Barack Obama, I expect more of you!". How would you like to be addressed in that fashion?? Senator Obama was "respectful and kind to Hilliary". Yes, he disagreed on issues, however he did not NOT attack her personally. Guess when you don't like someone, you never see the goodness in them?? I do not like HIlliary Clinton; however I did not call her an upside down pear in a pantsuit. Clinton supporters and guess now McCain's call him ignorant, a liar, an empty suit, stupid, he doesn't know anything, he's not a politician, he is just a politician, the Messiah (I laugh at this one, Jesus Christ was and is the ONLY Messiah). They have called him a radical Muslim (he is a Christian), they have called him just about everything bad there is to call someone. Senator Obama is a very brilliant and intelligent individual who at age 46 has accomplished, politically, what has taken John McCain 71 (soon to be 72) years to accomplish!! (That's a 25(26) year difference!! Senator Obama at the age of 46 has accomplished, politically, what has taken Hilliary 60 years to accomplish! (That's a 14 year difference! Have you ever stopped to wonder why McCain and Hilliary did not run for President when they were in their 40s?? Their 50s? Yes, I am aware McCain ran against Bush, but McCain was not the presumptive nominee, so I am not counting that. This in itself is indicative of Senator Obama's outstanding intellectual and brilliant mind, a vision like no other. Have you listened to his 2002 speech against going to war with Iraq? I suggest everyone google that speech, compare what he said with how the war has turned out and the consequences and ongoing results from that war. He is an expert on the Constitution and Constitutional law, we don't have to worry about him bypassing the Constitution in his decision making. He is a great leader and a great steward of fundraising and campaign expenditures (Both recognized as the best in U.S. history) He has out fund raised every candidate in U.S. history as well. Senator Obama will be a great President and Commander-in-Chief.

I will contribute $2,300 (the max) to Hillary if she gives Obama a Lewinsky on FOX News.

Posted by: Daddio on the Paddio
-------------------------------

It is Bill Clinton who was giving himself a Lewinsky in the Oval Office and next to the Oval office. Please do not degrade Senator Obama, he has a lovely wife and two beautiful children; he has been married to Michelle for 16 year. You see, Michelle and Barack not only love each other very much, they also have great respect for one another. Unfortunately Bill Clinton, the cigar guy, never had much respect for Hilliary or he would not have been the insatiable predator that he was for decades.

Senator Obama does not need Bill Clinton on his campaign and Bill Clinton does not need to campaign for Senator Obama, most especially if he is doing it begrudgingly; there is NO requirement for a former president to campaign for a candidate. The ONLY reason Bill got involved w/Hilliary's campaign is because she is his wife and he had/has a lot to make up for. It is only political protocol that Hilliary campaign with and for Senator Obama. Don't you see Mr. Romney out there campaigning with and for McCain?

Posted by: NinaK | July 6, 2008 2:49 AM

Nothing worse than resentful, bitter, and hateful people who cannot see beyond their noses. They have formed their opinions on lies and deceit and do not bother to research anything. They sound like little children: Jimmy got a bigger piece of candy than me; jimmy took the ball away from me (when the ball was never yours to begin with, it was Jimmy's). Noone is asking you to "like" Senator Obama. What I am asking you is to lay off your slandering and lies. One of the Ten Commandments is: "Thou shalt not bear false witness against others"; another is: "Love thy neighbor as thyself". IF you are a believer, you sure as heck do not honor God's words. I have never seen such bigotry, hate, and downright ugliness as I see in some of these posts. How would you like it if others publicly said those same terrible things about YOU?

Posted by: NinaK | July 6, 2008 2:35 AM

So Clinton has figured out that to get Obama to keep his implied promises of helping retire her campaign debt if she conceded the nomination to him (which she did), she has to make him keep his promises on a pay-as-you-go exchange for her support!

In this pay-as-you-go system, Obama got a 2-for-1, which means Clinton would have to make a lot of support appearances for him to pay off her debt.

And Clinton has figured out that, despite how easily Obama makes offers and takes stands, he has to be pushed, step by step, to actually keep his promises and live up to his facile words.

Posted by: AsperGirl | July 5, 2008

AsperGirl, Hilliary did NOT concede the nomination to Senator Obama! He WON the nomination, Hilliary did not. Some of you Clinton supporters are really pigheaded. Just because you have convinced yourselves Hilliary SHOULD have won, that does not mean she WON. You know, it is time for you and others of your thinking to admit Hilliary did NOT concede; Hilliary did NOT win. The Primary was and is all about delegates, Senator Obama was ahead on all counts: Delegates, Superdelegates, States won, popular votes. Yes, I know Hilliary insisted she had won the popular vote, problem is she was leaving the millions of voters from the caucus states out of her equation. Come on, face reality and stop deluding yourselves, it will only make you resentful. In every race we have a winner and a loser, that is how things work.

The greatest asset that Obama has is he is running against a third rate intellect and a third rate pilot. McCain is a step down from Bush. That is why those who attack Obama focus on the trivial. If they spoke the important things McCain would compare unfavorably.

Posted by: G8tr | July 5, 2008 11:39 PM

It is good to be strong as Obama appears to be. However, folks must remember, the more things change the more they appear the same. WUWC&O appearing that all is OK?
There is something wrong with this being together that appears phony. Does anyone really think America will go for Hil as the VP? This will destroy the dream, and who knows when we will ever get this close to getting a black or female President again. Wake up dreamers, This team will never go to the WH together. On the same ticket? It's a sure way to get JMcBush elected. What the America & the world needs
now is a strong Man who is capable of making good judgement and one who has not been tied up in 5's before, that was not connected to him being honored as a POW. No we don't need a page from the past called Hil nor JMcC , we need to move on from the page and get back on track. We love America and it's time to bring beauty back to our country..settle the country's debt, bring the troops home and settle this economy. Then we can build the bridges, fix the school system with Reg Weaver, and make our country green. That's what we meed. Listen to our Generals. Make our troops strong and safe as they protect us. Recall America's needs not the folks associated with this war. What about our debts? War is not the answer. stop the war and stop the pandering.

Posted by: Judith | July 5, 2008 2:33 PM

Yeah, right. Obamacons will rush to McCain or stay home if they don't get the VP they want. Hopefully they are not all this stupid but on the other hand they are ignorant enough to support a candidate who has not demonstrated a solid position on one single important issue facing our country. Even the media is starting to catch on.

The person who asked me if I would perfer to vote for Mcbush(umm can we use his real name McCain how about a little respect that your candidate says he's for) didn't use their name, they never answered my question why is it okay for Obama to call someone typically white? if hillary had said well you know such and such is just a typical black person there would be out rage. I am gonna be real here, for all of my highschool years I went to a mostly white highschool and, most of the kids who werent calling me racists names were just the white kids who thought it was cool to call themsleves names in an effort to look look cool. Its not right for any race to generalize another race, there is no typical white person and there is no typcial black person and rev al and jesse no more speak for me than newt gengrich, and rush limbaugh speak for the majority of white people. I will answer the question even though mine was never answered. I am not voting for McCain but my heart is not really in it to vote for Obama, I may due it out of shear desperation at the us state of affairs, but shouldnt we have better alternative then I will vote for him because he's note him? or i will vote for him cause wouldnt it be cool to have a black president(even though he's not really just black cause you know he's gotta a white mama). I am tired of the DNC picking its candidates on looks and other trivial crap. Its nice that they are now saying oh there was sexism during the primaries even michelle was singing that tune on the view, would have been nice had they said something during the primaries.

Hey, Ralph Faulkner, what principles of Obama's are you commenting about? He has none. He says what will get him votes, that's it. He changes his mind more than my 4 years old grandson. CHANGE to Obama means his daily change of opinions on his church, Wright, gun control, partial birth abortions, Iraq, whether to wear a flag pin, whether he thinks he is a conservative Christian, etc. etc. CHANGE EVERY DAY YOUR OPINIONS, THAT IS OBAMA'S SLOGAN. How in the hell do you vote for someone when he does not even know what he stands for? You don't.

LEST NOT FORGET THAT FOR HER LEGACY HILLARY DOES NOT NEED VP POST. SHE HAS ALREADY MADE HER PLACE IN HISTORY. THERE ARE MORE THAN 18 MILLION PEOPLE WHO SHOWED THEIR LOVE FOR HER AND THERE ARE MANY MORE WHO LOVE HER.
ACTUALLY MCCAIN MAY PROVE BETTER THAN OBAMA TO DEAL WITH MAJORITY OD DEMS IN CONGRESS AND SENATE.
_ OBAMA MUST LOSE THIS ELECTION FOR THE DEMS TO CLEAN THEIR HOUSE OF GENDER BIAS AND INVERTED RACISISM.
I AM A PROUD DEMOCRAT WHO WILL FEEL PROUD TO VOTE FOR MCCAIN THE REAL AMERICAN HERO AND NOT AFAKE HOT AIR BALOON LIKE OBAMA

Obama would definitely win in November with Hillary as vice president -- no matter what all the Clinton haters (Dems and GOPs) think! If he doesn't pick her -- he's a LOSER and the most STUPID politician on earth! Guaranteed! American voters know who has the smarts, savvy and solutions to help lead this country OUT OF THE MESS IT'S IN. Afterall, Obama is using all of Hillary's centrist postions now anyway! Will Obama do the right thing? It's clearly up to him.

INTERESTING COMMENT.

W YOU AS A NON-AMERICAN, WHAT DO YOU SEE AS OUR CHALLENGES AND MISSION ?

Obama has consistently lied about Iraq. That´s why he got nominated by the Democrats. If he hadn´t been lieing Hillary Clinton would have been the nominee. She should be careful when she appears together with him.

Posted by: Anonymous | July 5, 2008 6:15 PM

As an non-American I find the comments of what is presumably a democratic respondents pretty low-brow and disappointing. Your country has a huge mission and some big challenges. I hope that you wake up and stop attacking each other.

So Rachel - you would rather vote for McBush? EVERYONE messes up. The difference between Billary and Obama is that Obama does blame himself - Billary blames everyone but themselves...especially the Right Wing Conspiracy.

I am a white man living in the South that is voting for Obama - after years of voting Republican or Libertarian (I did not vote for Bush). I have no heartburn with Mrs. Obama's comments about white America - most of them are true...actually, I admire her restraint.

GO OBAMA...kick butt. Stay far away from Billary.

Posted by: Anonymous | July 5, 2008 4:43 PM

Umm for everyone who says hillary has lost the black vote umm you been listening to reverand al, and jesse jackson too much. I am an african american female voter who voted for Hillary in the primaries and would have no problem voting for her again. I think people need to get off the race thing why is it okay for obama to call someone typically white and not okay for bill and hill to point out that jesse jackson won south carolina ? In a way I hope he doesnt want hillary's help so when he starts messing up they can blame it on Hillary. The man has already been messing up by changing his positions.

Nice family!? If they get in, Michele will put her Black Panther uniform back on and trying to make the U.S. pay reparations.

Posted by: Paul | July 5, 2008 3:48 PM

At least Obama has wit and charisma. McBush is pushing his tired old self to think... never mind orate! Do we want a 72 year old philandering President with stage one syphilitic dementia, or do we want a smart younger man with a nice family?

Please - vote for OBAMA.

An open letter to Sen. Boxer as Chair of the Senate Ethics Committee:
During the primary campaign we learned that Hillary Clinton received millions of dollars from foreign governments while she sat in the US Senate. She reported this activity on her disclosure forms merely as " As a New Yorker I respectfully ask that you initiate an investigation of this matter forthwith.

I sent the Obama campaign my donation earlier today. I want to make sure that I do all that I can to help him win, within reason. If McCain gets into office, we will probably drop to being a 2nd world country. Our economy is shot. Barack should do it himself and leave the Clintons to their own devices. Barack for President!

Posted by: RadianChalant | July 5, 2008 3:32 PM

Well none of the Candidates are showing that they are qualified for the position. If this were a real job in the world then the HR department would place another add to find some one that can do the job. Why should the American public lower their standards of expectation because the controlling parties are not interested in the well being of America. Who ever wins is stepping into a total mess and will not be capable of anymore then getting things going down the right road, but will not get credit for it. There will be fewer Republicans and more Democrats so Mclackofbrains can't screw things up any worse then they already are, and Obama still needs to learn about the real politics.

Posted by: Steve Texas | July 5, 2008 3:30 PM

i have voted republican since 1980, but hate more than anything being lied to by anyone. now the republicans have run up the biggest deficit in history. i might vote for obama just because he is not a republican.

by the way, has anyone asked john mccain how many illegal immigrants have crossed the arizona border since he has been senator there. sure, he helped pass anit-immigration legistation 20+ years ago and then let the probelm continue to grow. this is who we want for president?

on the other hand, if obama thinks we can solve the energy issue by growing biodiesels, thenhe is being intellectually dishonest or is just faking it. some democrat leader needs to embrace nuclear energy at 4 cents a kilowatt hour and stop the energy nonsence that i have been hearing in this country since i was six years old.

Posted by: paul | July 5, 2008 3:29 PM

"Putting their money where their mouths are"
That is pretty funny. Lets not forget that it is Obama's money since Clinton's campaign has none and is 10 million in the hole.

Vote for Obama if you want "change" and "hope", lol trouble is he can't tell you what and how. But hey at least he is charismatic.

Oh and the Democratic party is what it is because of the Clintons.

I think that Obama should distance himself from the Clintons and run on his own principals. We surely have had enough of the Bushes and Clintons and I am more than ready for the change that the American people deserve. It is time for Obama to break away from the King and Queen of the schum of America. I can not fathom Obama choosing Hillary Clinton as his vice Presedint. She and are Bill are Morally corrupt and play on the less educated people of America.

Posted by: Ralph Faulkner | July 5, 2008 3:17 PM

okay, for all of you that say it's dumb or stupid how obama is asking for hillary's support...let me tell you that you're the ones that are dumb or stupid (you can choose wich one). For any political leader to show true leadership or for anyone for that matter to show leadership, you must put away your past and anger or whatever it was and try to unite with everyone so that people will know that you are willing to negotiate to a common ground with them. Obama is doing a fine job trying to unite everyone even if the people had talked trash about him. That's why people admire him soo much. Also, he truely is a change whereas (for you clinton supporters) clintons have always been in the white house so we know their strategies. What's so change about that? Another thing, whether republicans deny it or not, countries around the world HATE the U.S. right now (other than isreal which we take as god) and so having someone new instead of clinton would make U.S. fame go up. I've been to other countries around the world, and whether you believe it or not...fact is people are sick and tired of hillary clinton as well as bill for U.S. they want someone new!!! So clinton fans get over the fact that she lost. Also, those of you who are saying that hillary as vp or no obama...you are all like babies. Do you want another 100 years of Iraq like all other republicans or a sensible pride of U.S. like we once had? THis is the question, not hillary as VP or not. Besides hillary would not be the best VP and obama would loose...it's proven so suck it up!!! She has so many downfalls compared to OBama!!! Truth is bitter but these are all facts so i don't care if you hate this coment or not...get over it!!!

GO OBAMA!!!!

This race is very simple. We have two choices -McCain (another four years of Bush) or Obama. Barr has entered into the race, but should have entered sooner, if he was serious. If you place all of the candicates in a bag and shake. Will they be for the American people; probably not?
A vote for Obama will indicate, that you are tired of the old guard and Americans need someone that will look after them. Use you e-mails to the Congress person in your district, let work for a change.

Obama has to deal with them, either as friends or foes. Campaigning against Clinton made Obama a tougher candidate. (And it exposed the Clintons yet again for being nasty, vicious people). Working with the Clintons now is good preparation for working with the Republicans in congress next year.

I would NEVER vote for McCain, so I guess for the first time in my life, I would not vote at all if Obama picked traitors like Edwards, Richardson, or Dodd to be his running mate.

They all sold the Hillary out and our party would be nothing without the Clinton's.

Posted by: Greg | July 5, 2008 2:52 PM

I see a couple of HIllary Supporters eh?

One wont vote for Obama unless Hillary is VP

and the other one think Obama NEEDS Hillary to win

Ok for one thing, give me an example of Barack Obama being sexist to Hillary During the primaries!!!......chances are you cant or ive never seen it(and i was looking).....Now the media on the other hand, oh yeah they were sexist to Hillary on a daily basis, but they were also bringing up racial issues as well.....

Hillary as VP is a double edged sword....Lets say she does become VP, wouldnt that be like a consolation prize, a second place for a women, or at least symbolic of that??? or would it be a victory for women to be in a place of power where they can make a difference???
you tell me...please

either way, any politician is going to make people happy and angry at whatever they do

Posted by: Oregon4Obama | July 5, 2008 2:50 PM

Oh Please, Is that all you re-pugnicans can come up with? people are angry Jimmy "whatever" because the halliburtons and big oils are making big time moneys when lower and middle class Americans are struggling with paying for gas, healthcare, mortgage and oh something as capricious as food prices.. the people have spoken
re-pungnanicans and they want change (are U SCareD now?).

We cannot reasonably create unity between Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. Obama is a leftwing extremist advocating a massive expansion of the federal budget in order to fund programs that either are wasteful or are already overfunded. By stark contrast, Clinton is a fiscal conservative who opposes a massive increase in government spending. In fact, during 1993-2000, the Clinton administration (in which Ms. Clinton served as chief adviser to her husband) reformed the executive branch and reduced the government payroll by more than 300,000 civilian employees.

That is just one of many differences between Obama and Clinton. These differences are irreconcilable.

Yet, the operatives in the Democratic party demand that we -- the American voter -- ignore these differences. The operatives claim that the differences are negligible.

The operatives are playing us for fools.

If you are angered by this manipulation, express the full fury of your anger in November. Grab the voting ballot and write "Hillary Clinton" on the ballot.

The only way Barack Obama can lose this election is by having Hillary "sniper fire" Clinton as VP. Period.

If Obama picks Hillary, then he is ignoring good advice from numerous trustworthy people, including former presidents. If Obama chose Hillary, then he will lose this election. No doubt.

Obama is not begging Clinton for support. She is the one who's asking him for help to retire her irresponsible debt. If you Clinton supporters think she is all of that why have you failed to retire her debt as we speak? Hate a rabbit all you want, but at some point you gotta admit that it has long ears than most animals of it size..., i.e. GET OVER Clinton, admit that she lost and bested, and get on big O Band wagon. Other wise go hang yourselves.

I think it is foolish for Obama to help Clinton, after the dirty campaign she and Bill ran. She should take her losses as does any other lossing Campaign... Or at least... raise only enough to pay thwe outside debits and leave her with her personnel debits she ran up.....When szhe lent her campaign 5 million the first time that should have been her limit, instead she threw in aNOTHER 7.4 MILLION for another loan out her personnel funds... Sometimes when you throw good money after bad, you just have to take the loss.....

If NObama had any shame left, he and his slimy campaign should stop begging Sen Clinton for dole and support, and win on their own.

How disgusting is it that after trashing Sen Clinton for a year on all sorts of racist and sexist grounds, NObama is no desperately going around, begging Clinton and her supporters to come home.

Even his flip flopping on a whole host of issues is less unsightly, compared to his Clinton begging.
