Obama Touts National Security Credentials, Again, in TV Ad

The latest in a series of television commercials touting Barack Obama's national security proposals starts airing Thursday on national cable channels.
"Forty years ago it was missile silos and the Cold War. Today it's cyber attacks, loose nukes, oil money funding terrorism," the ad's announcer says. "Barack Obama understands our changing world."
The ad also mentions Obama's work to secure loose nuclear weapons, the topic of an ad released on Tuesday.
Emphasis on an understanding of a "changing world" may help Obama further distinguish his foreign policy credentials from those of John McCain. The latest Washington Post-ABC News poll shows Obama and McCain run about even on the issues of Iran, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and international affairs in general, while they are also statistically tied on who is better equipped to handle the war in Iraq. Fifty-six percent of respondents said Obama knows enough about world affairs to be a good president. That's good news for the Democratic senator, but 72 percent of respondents said the same of McCain, giving the Republican a 16-point edge. McCain was also judged as the candidate with greater knowledge of the world, and better experienced to handle a major world crisis.

Republicans have demonstrated over these last 2 terms, that they really have no idea how to secure our nation. The actions the Republican have taken so far, have greatly reduced the national security of our nation, and our ability to work with other nations to protect ourselves.
Lets hope another Republican doesn't make it in to office anytime soon - we can't afford to continue their disaster.

Its funny that the Republicans are too cowardly to do the right thing, but as soon as Obama says he plans to do the right thing, the Republicans jump on his bandwagon.

Nice try, Shaun, with that clever reference to "boy". Obama is 46 years old, he is NOT a boy, and you know it. By your definition, Kennedy was a "boy" when he was elected. Unless, of course, you are making a veiled racist comment...

Obama is a nice young boy, but I can think of many, many men who know more about national security than he does. Given the fact that our nation is at war, I think we should keep Obama in mind for the future...his time has not come yet. He's a charming and bright individual, but he needs more experience at the state and national level before he'll be ready to lead the free world. I don't even like John McCain, but he's obviously the best best this time around...

In the first debate, when McCain touts the success of the 'surge' and Obama counters with how Iraq wasted money and lives, diverted us from our real enemies, and how the surge in BRIBES to Sunnis (and Al Qaeda are Sunnis) then it will be over.
McCain won't be able to lie about it. And he'll be dead in the water.

Hmmm, I don´t think this ad did very well. Look at Barack´s face. He looks worried, even meek (downcast gaze, tense fist under the chin), but not determined. Which is what he is, as I perceive him, and as he should be perceived for this to roll.

This ad is good. Smart message. If you haven't seen the new MoveOn ad, it's worth seeing also. Both adds are forceful and direct.

Last week the McCain campaign said Sen Obama was flip flopping on Iraq and now they come out and say he is too rigid an ideological. The irony of one statement disproves the other. Does anybody there know what they think? McCain's change means confusion, Obama's means strength.
I feel sorry for those who feel compelled to defend this nonsense.
