Edwards Took Mistress on 2006 Presidential Announcement Tour

By Garance Franke-Ruta
Well, you gotta give him one thing: the man has chutzpah.

Photographs distributed by wire services and posted online by technology blogger Robert Scoble show that former North Carolina senator John Edwards took his mistress Rielle Hunter with him on the plane during his late 2006 presidential campaign announcement tour. As can be seen in this Dec. 28, 2006 photo (that's Hunter in the jeans and jester hat, as can be seen more clearly in this side-profile photo), Hunter stood off to the side of the national press corps filming Edwards as the former Democratic vice presidential nominee announced his second bid for the presidency in New Orleans.

Here she is drinking from a cup as Edwards is interviewed by the press. More photos of her at Edwards's presidential campaign kickoff can be found here and here, where she's shown laughing with Edwards's young staffers.

Writes Scoble on his Flickr site under a photo of Hunter he uploaded Dec. 30, 2006, "I was hanging out with John Edwards and crew as he announced he was running for President of the United States. This photo was taken in New Orleans as Edwards gave press interviews on the lawn of a house that was destroyed in Hurricane Katrina."

Scoble blogged Friday about the four-day presidential announcement trip, after Edwards admitted the romance with Hunter. Wrote Scoble, "I had no idea that when former Senator John Edwards invited me to come along on his plane back in December of 2006 that I would have had a front-row seat to a sex scandal."

"I never saw them behave inappropriately in front of me," he added. Scoble was traveling with the campaign as part of a blogger contingent invited to ensure the event received online attention.

Edwards said in a statement that his romance with Hunter ended in 2006. "With my family, I took responsibility for my actions in 2006 and today I take full responsibility publicly. But that misconduct took place for a short period in 2006. It ended then," he said.

His wife, Elizabeth Edwards, added in a statement posted on liberal blog Daily Kos, "John made a terrible mistake in 2006.... we began a long and painful process in 2006, a process oddly made somewhat easier with my diagnosis in March of 2007."

Edwards announced his presidential bid on Dec. 28 in New Orleans. His wife did not accompany him on the trip there.

The wire service photos, below, show Hunter, whom Edwards met in a New York bar in 2006, traveling with Edwards on December 27 and riding with him on his plane to Reno, Nev., on December 29 of that year.

You know how you can just spot a scum? Its not any one thing, maybe its just a feeling, but you are almost never wrong, and the few times you decide to go against that gut feeling, you realize that gut feeling was right? Smiles too much, gets expensive haircuts, lawyer, married to a better lawyer that is older and much less attractive, made his money off lawsuits and bogus crap.... and now he gets caught get some sum sum on the side. Mmm hmm. Clinton..lawyer, marries smarter less attractive lawyer, white trash background...smiles too much...seen this before? I can spot em people.

I'm sick of people making excuses for Edwards. He's a lying cheating a-hole who doesn't deserve to represent the U.S. If he lied about his affair to the public, if he lied to his own wife, who knows what else he'll lie about. Good riddance to him.

?What a despicable thing to do: Cheat on your cancer-stricken wife. It's the Liberal way!

You mean like Newt Gingrich did? -and then have the divorce papers served on her while she is in the hospital?

Sometimes a married man runs into a lady who has some nighty-night skills that his wife either never had or forgot. The girlfriend ushers him into the bedroom and takes the hitch out of his backswing and then he is hooked. However, John claims the baby isn't his. So, he and his wife are now exposed to all of the diseases that his girlfriend had, along with all of her boyfriends, their girlfriends, etc. Many of the above may have one of those diseases that is difficult to pronounce and impossible to spell.

Well, let's review, shall we?

*Some people in our society STILL use labels such as Liberal and Conservative as if they were valid adjectives pertaining to "American politics"!

*No matter HOW much evidence is available to the contrary, some Americans STILL denigrate the concept of evolution!

*No matter HOW much evidence is available to the contrary some Americans STILL support the notion that we invaded Iraq to find WMD's, and then to get rid of Saddam Hussein (whom the USA had previously supported for many, many years).

*No matter HOW much evidence is available to the contrary some Americans STILL acquiesce in the fiction that "globalization" and "de-regulation" are part of some very noble program to produce "free market capitalism" in the under-developed world.

*No matter HOW much evidence is available to the contrary some Americans STILL refuse to accept the reality on the ground that our own infrastructure is woefully disintegrating at an alarming pace, plunging our domestic population into a downward spiraling abyss of ever-worsening "quality of life".

*No matter HOW much evidence is available to the contrary some Americans STILL refuse to educate themselves regarding how and why all these things are happening.

*No matter HOW much evidence is available to the contrary some Americans STILL believe that the USA has "leadership" that really cares about our people!

*No matter HOW much evidence is available to the contrary some Americans STILL think we have the world's finest educational system, best military organization, best healthcare system, best economic system, best legal system and best political system!

What we are dealing with here is cognitive dissonance! How in the world can a sexual infidelity by a 3rd-rate footnote like John Edwards occupy such media prominence? Don't we all have much more SERIOUS matters about which we should be having an ongoing public dialogue?

This "Senator" is a 3rd rate footnote on history's dung heap! We need citizenship classes! We need massive infusions of resources into education! Into healthcare! Into basic services! We need serious caring about our nation as a viable entity in the 21st century! We need to FOCUS!! John Edwards?? Are you KIDDING me??

Yes, we wouldn't want to besmerch Rielle Hunter's good name. We've found out what an upstanding citizen she is in the past few days.

Michael.A.Folger...if you were HALF as smart as you think you are, you'd make some sense.

Maybe it's YOU that needs to read a few history books, since I mentioned McCarthy's NAME as a reference to someone posting here using commie-baiting as a POLITICAL weapon, which is precisely what McCarthy did to anyone who didn't agree with his politics, inside or outside of government.

I used the TERM "McCarthyism" in reference to a mindset and technique used by various entities based on paranoia and fear, and on using Communism as a means of political control and attack, which is precisely what HUAC and others using the technique did.

Both the man himself, and the techniques used by others from the late thirties on...are considered a dark era in America...similar to the Bush Junior years now.

In short, I was accurate in addressing the post, and entirely accurate in my use of the NAME and the TERM.

Now go back to playing your XBox that Daddy bought for you.

Posted by: wilderrr | August 12, 2008 5:48 PM

wilderr...I love it when people spout off about McCarthyism...Senator Joe McCarthy was trying to root out Communists inside of the Government...He had nothing the to with any of the stars being blacklisted...That was the House...Go back and take a Civics or History class...Better yet, pick up a book and read...You may learn something

Posted by: Michael.A.Folger | August 12, 2008 4:10 PM

Isn't the term "mistress" sexist and demeaning? Isn't it enough to say that John Edwards and Rielle Hunter are in the photos? What's the point of identifying her as a "mistress"? Couldn't - shouldn't - the headline here be "Edwards Took Hunter on Announcement Tour," and not "Edwards Took Mistress"? This is very bad reporting.

rtfanning...you belong back in the fifties...cheering on Joe McCarthy.

Like Obama's "mentor"...Charlie Chaplin, Orson Welles, Humphrey Bogart, Burgess Meredith, Artie Shaw, Edward G. Robinson, J. Robert Oppenheimer, Zero Mostel, and HUNDREDS of other Americans were also accused of being Communists back in the fifties. So what?

The bigger question is...how is it possible that in the 21st century...over fifty years since the disgrace of McCarthyism...there are still people like YOU out there?

I'm a Democrat who supported Edwards and am disgusted by his behavior. I feel sorry for what he's putting his wife and children through. Anything that happens to him...he deserves.

But at least one thing is clear. When Democrats are slimy cheaters...it's usually with WOMEN. And with someone of LEGAL AGE.

That cannot be said of Republicans.

There's a website called republicanoffenders that proves my point. Hundreds and hundreds of Republicans caught in the slime. Unbelievably depraved stuff.

Posted by: wolfpack777 | August 12, 2008 3:25 PM

If Edwards told his wife in 2006 after the brief "mistake", why was his mistress still traveling with him the last week of 2006? Either Elizabeth didn't care, or the lies continue. This situation Edwards has gotten himself into left him wide open for blackmail....the implictions of that for the President of the free world are pretty big given this was going on while trying to secure the nomination. We don't know yet where the money trail will lead, but I don't think this is as over as he'd like it to be. Developing......

I love all the people who say what does it matter.

AS you do in small things, you do in bigger things.

Small lies, deceit, etc. - leads to big lies and more deceit.
That is why it matters.

So what's the big deal anyway? What he does or does not do, is not my business and neither is it yours. I'm a Rep and it has no bearing on his party anyway. If you really need this type information from your press, you need another press. If the press had never said anything, you would not have an opinion, or knowledge of it and that's the way it should have been. What a person does in their personal life is not something to be judged by others in the 1st place. Get a life people, you got plenty on your own plate to make conversation about...a bunch of busy-body-old wash women...the whole group of ya'.. If you paid this type attention to the real issues that confront us, it might be a lot better place to live. Ya' can't and don't stand up and demand good government, so continue the "wash-woman attitude....it fits you all better anyway...whiny gossips with no life or up-bringings...

Re: "Edwards said in a statement that his romance with Hunter ended in 2006."

These pictures show Edwards and Hunter together on Dec. 29, 2006 looking pretty chummy. Did he end the romance on one of the last two days of the year?

Posted by: Lynn Rendall | August 12, 2008 1:09 PM

"...but IMO, Elizabeth Edwards shares some of the blame for this fiasco as well. She should not have encouraged him to run for president" "Yep, agreed. It looks as though she was aware of the affair pretty early on." --- Actually, no. That's the importance of these pictures: they prove (as much as things can be proven by circumstantial evidence) that Elizabeth Edwards did NOT encourage her husband to run, or agree to his running, for President even though she knew of the recent affair. If he had told her before he announced his intentions, Hunter would NOT still be traveling with him!!!!! -- So Elizabeth evidently was told about the affair only AFTER he had already announced his candidacy. At that point I can understand that loyalty to a spouse, and friend, of many decades would have kept her quiet, especially if she believed that he would be a good president and support important causes. ---- But I think we have to acquit her of making the irrational decision to go ahead and run despite knowing this bomb was sitting there, ready and likely to explode. For Elizabeth's own reputation and regard, and the future she may want in public service, I think this is important to know.

$200 an hour MALE PROSTITUTE comes to the Whitehouse on a REGULAR BASIS...he checks in but he don't check out...BJ's in the WHITEHOUSE!!...rove licks it?

TITLE: Secret Service records raise new questions

By John Byrne| RAW STORY Editor

Updated: Day discovered with two check-ins but no check outs; Other events found on some days without press briefings

READ THE DOCUMENTS

In what is unlikely to stem the controversy surrounding disgraced White House correspondent James Guckert, the Secret Service has furnished logs of the writer’s access to the White House after requests by two Democratic congressmembers.

The documents, obtained by Rep. Louise Slaughter (D-NY) and Rep. John Conyers (D-MI) through a Freedom of Information Act request, reveal Guckert had remarkable access to the White House. Though he wrote under the name Jeff Gannon, the records show that he applied with his real name.

Gannon’s ready access to President Bush and his work for a news agency that frequently plagiarized content from other reporters and tailored it to serve a conservative message may raise new questions about the White House’s attempts to seed favorable news coverage. Democrats have sought to paint Guckert in the context of other efforts by the Administration to “plant” positive spin by paying for video news releases and columnists to espouse their views.

Guckert made more than 200 appearances at the White House during his two-year tenure with the fledging conservative websites GOPUSA and Talon News, attending 155 of 196 White House press briefings. He had little to no previous journalism experience, previously worked as a male escort, and was refused a congressional press pass.

Perhaps more notable than the frequency of his attendance, however, is several distinct anomalies about his visits.

Guckert made more than two dozen excursions to the White House when there were no scheduled briefings. On many of these days, the Press Office held press gaggles aboard Air Force One—which raises questions about what Guckert was doing at the White House. On other days, the president held photo opportunities.

On at least fourteen occasions, Secret Service records show either the entry or exit time missing. Generally, the existing entry or exit times correlate with press conferences; on most of these days, the records show that Guckert checked in but was never processed out.

In March, 2003, Guckert left the White House twice on days he had never checked in with the Secret Service. Over the next 22 months, Guckert failed to check out with the Service on fourteen days. On several of these visits, Guckert entered or exited by a different entry/exit point than his usual one. On one of these days, no briefing was held; on another, he checked in twice but failed to check out.

“I’d be worried if I was the White House and I knew that a reporter with a day pass never left,” one White House reporter told RAW STORY. “I’d wonder, where is he hiding? It seems like a security risk.”

Others who have covered the White House say not checking in or out with the Secret Service is unusual, especially in the wake of Sept. 11. The Secret Service declined to comment.

“We responded to the FOIA request and can provide no further information,” Service spokesman Jonathan Cherry said.

Guckert declined to comment, directing all questions to the Service.

The records furnished by the Service are unlikely to finally answer who approved Gannon’s “temporary” day passes into the presidential residence. The Service keeps a record of who approved passes only for the last sixty days; previous records are kept by the White House.

Since December 2004, all but one of Gannon’s forty-eight temporary appointments were requested by Lois Cassano, a White House Press Office media assistant. One additional request was made by Peter Watkins, a press assistant who now works as deputy press secretary to First Lady Laura Bush.

Guckert sometimes stayed for an extended period of time before and after press conferences, particularly early in his tenure. This was especially common during his first few months, when he might be in the White House for as long as six hours.

A White House reporter dismissed this as insignificant, noting that sometimes reporters stay between events.

“You could probably find people who stayed there for nine hours,” the reporter said.

Occasionally, the former Talon News reporter visited the White House twice on the same day. This was also most common in the early months.

The Secret Service furnished the records after a Freedom of Information Act request from Reps. John Conyers (D-MI) and Louise Slaughter (D-NY).

Guckert drew fire after asking a question of President Bush earlier this year in which he misquoted the Democratic Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV). Investigative bloggers at Daily Kos and AmericaBlog.org discovered Guckert owned male escort sites, and is himself a male prostitute.

That is exactly why. He I doesn't likes women who are his equal. It is easy to manipulate someone who thinks you are the greatest thing since sliced bread. Rock groups have been doing it forever. Guys like him take advantage of fans. You can see in almost every picture she is beaming when she is next to him. She would probably drop to her knees at the snap of his fingers.

the FIVE [5] reasons to be in IRAQ?

_____________________$MONEY$ ORIENTED REASONS_____________________

there is no attempt at stability, many citizens have been driven out of IRAQ purposely.

there is no attempt at creating what is best for the Middle East,

NOR FOR THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA's CITIZENS,

and certainly not what would be best for
the IRAQI or AFGHANI citizens...

they are the peasants in the way of the oil and drug money....the injuns standing between the whitemen and blackgold.

the FIVE [5] reasons bushCO and CRONYISM want IRAQ to continue are

$MONEY_BASED$

1. OCCUPATION/falsewar PROFITEERING....Cheney/Halliburton; Rumsfeld/Bechtel; theBushes,James Baker III,Bin LadenFamily,SAUDIROYALS/theCarlyleGroup.

2. favors from BIG OIL(BP,EXXON-MOBIL,SHELL,CHEVRON) both incountry and out of country to BUSHCO AND CRONYS not to AMERICA.

3. jews for genocide MONEY/they also provide cover/validation for the bushCO and CRONYs B.S. cover story that they are defending the world against "something," in the jews for genocide story....anyoneconnected to JINSA/AIPAC/AEI/PNAC

4. SAND BROTHER COLLUSION, UAE, SAUDI, KUWIAT....MONEY and FAVORS...bush said 8 months ago if the U.S. of A. left, the SAUDIS would be moving in...bushCO and CRONY actions have been SUPPORTIVE OF AL QUEADA, the _M_A_N_U_F_A_C_T_U_R_E_D_ terrrrrorist threat.....NYT, USATODAY, Newsweek

5. drug trafficking $BILLIONS$ of dollars of UNRECORDED PROFITS FROM HEROIN/OPIUM trafficking in AFGHANISTAN, as per DoJ letter of Understanding....bushCO and CRONYs/IRANCONTRATHUGSFORDRUGS are "allowed," to do....

SEARCH on Gary Webb, George H.W. Bush, Parry read the letter of understanding.

O ba ba man needs to understand something

Clinton inherited most of his people, supposedly knowledgeable trustworthy people...bushes people...

A WASHINTON OUTSIDER, will always inherit, the people that were running it before they got there.

that is the difference here.

There were bushes involved in the FORMATION OF THE CIA....

looka here:The Bush Crime Family Tree

GEORGE WALKER, GEORGE W's great-grandfather, set up the takeover of the Hamburg-America Line, a cover for I.G. Farben's Nazi espionage unit in the United States. In Germany, I.G. Farben was most famous for putting the gas in gas chambers; it was the producer of Zyklon B and other gasses used on victims of the Holocaust.

The Bush family was not unaware of the nature of their investment partners. They hired ALLEN DULLES, the future HEAD of the CIA, to HIDE the FUNDS they were making from Nazi investments and the funds they were sending to Nazi Germany, rather than divest.

It was only in 1942, when the government seized Union Banking Company assets under the Trading With The Enemy Act, that George Walker and Prescott Bush allegedly, stopped pumping money into Hitler's regime. (1)

PRESCOTT BUSH, GEORGE W's grandfather. According to classified documents from Dutch intelligence and US government archives, President George W. Bush's grandfather,

Prescott Bush made considerable profits off Auschwitz slave labor.

In fact, President Bush himself is an heir to these profits from the holocaust which were placed in a blind trust in 1980 by his father, former president George Herbert Walker Bush. (2)

On the 20th of October, the government commenced action against the company under the trading with the enemy act. (3) After the seizures in late 1942 of five U.S. enterprises he managed on behalf of Nazi industrialist Fritz Thyssen failed to divest himself of more than a dozen "enemy national" relationships that continued until as late as 1951, newly-discovered U.S. government documents reveal. (4) In 1952, Prescott Bush was elected to the U.S. Senate, with no press accounts about his well-concealed Nazi past.(5)

GEORGE HERBERT WALKER BUSH, "POPPY", the presidents father. Bush, as director of the CIA, had

funneled enormous amounts of cash to drug runners including Manuel Noriega and helped in the destabilization of Argentina.

Bush utilized his own connections to help fund drug runners from Laos to Panama.

Most shocking was the so-called "cocaine coup" in Bolivia in June 1980, masterminded by fugitive Nazi Klaus Barbie, "The Butcher Of Lyons." Barbie, who had been previously secreted in Latin America by the CIA, began working closely with the Argentines and used drug money to finance a neo-Nazi cabal, one that succeeded in overthrowing the government. The troops swept through the capital wearing Nazi armbands, according to former DEA agent Mike Levine. George H.W. Bush later facilitated the Iran-contra affair, employing many of the same methods: secretly selling Central American cocaine in America and weapons to Iran while using the profits to fund the contras and to overthrow democratically elected socialists in Central America.(6) as the head of the CIA and later as Vice President, toppled democratically elected regimes in South and Central America and George H.W. began propping up a dictator by the name of SADDAM HUSSEIN in Iraq. Although forbidden by congress to do so, he continued to ILLEGALLY sell chemical and biological weapons to Saddam even after he used them on villages of innocent civilians...men, women and children. A decade later The United States had to go to war against him and the Bush family again, made $BILLIOLNS$ from it.

Upon appointment as president, GEORGE W. Bush appoints 6 Iran-contra defendants to his staff, (13) fills the upper levels of the White house and pentagon with senior members of the PNAC (14) including his speech writer, chief advisor, secretary of defense, and vice president. Uses the terrorist attacks of 9-11 (16) to illegally invade and occupy Iraq under the false pretense of imminent threat (15) and reaps billions for Cheney's Halliburton, Rumsfeld's Bechtel, and his own family's Carlyle group. A seventh IRAN CONTRA DEFENDANT ROBERTY M. GATES, later became his secretary of defense.

yeah, it's hard to imagine a family that has a history of collaborating w/the enemy and gettting away with it doing the same thing over and over and over....

until the internet makes that IMPOSSIBLE.

F.O. bush trolls.

Remember when the nightly TV news brought us honest, fair, unbiased, and timely reporting? Now that network news is a product of TV's entertainment depts., all they air is "managed news" - news that has been laundered, spun, and altered to reflect the points of view of management. This is exactly what happened with the John Edwards story. At a time when the media would kill to be able to air anything negative about any Republican, they sat on the Edwards story for nearly one month until the lowly "Enquirer" forced them to air it.

Posted by: Mike | August 12, 2008 12:04 PM

I don't get why Edwards was attracted to Hunter in the first place. She's not attractive.

Got into office because of his father and his powerful connections, criminal election tampering, assasinations and attempted assasinations of foreign leaders, "endless war", thousands of US military dead, tens of thousands more innocents killed, govt experiments on US citizens, violations of privacy/constitutional rights, slobbering myth-making sycophants in the media, womanizing, substance abuse/addiction.

And to think that JFK is still beatified in spite of all of this. By contrast, the left wants GWB tried as a war criminal for much less.

Laughable.

Funny how the myriad of scandals that would have been ridden into the ground for weeks on end if it were a GOP canidate, like Rev Wright, Lesco, Phleger, get nearly zero mention in the MSM. Posted by: A. Fare | August 12, 2008 11:19 AM

And why are we supposed to care if Edwards had an affair?

Is it because of the illegal invasion of Iraq? Or maybe it's the 4,000 dead American soldiers? Or the 30,000 wounded American soldiers? Or is it the entire Justice Department being bastardized via the current administration? Oh, wait...maybe it's because of the real estate and banking meltdown or the inflation or the gas prices?

Yeah, that must be why Americans are considered dolts by most of the free world.

For those asking, "Why? Why would a politician risk it all for a stupid fling? Why do they make this same idiotic mistake over and over?"

The answer is, SEX. Don't underestimate the awesome power of sex to addle the brain. To many people, it seems especially to males, sex is as addictive as crack! Testosterone is practically a hallucinogen.

There is nothing special about Bill Clinton or John Edwards. They are just typical human beings with penises. People trash their lives, their marriages, their families, their finances, and their kids' futures all the time for affairs. This is no different.

Did George W. Bush Have Sex with That Man, James Guckert?

By Bob Fertik

In 1998, Bill Clinton was impeached because of these 10 words:

I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Monica Lewinsky.

In 2003, New Jersey Governor Jim McGreevey was forced to resign over a secret gay affair.

So what about George Bush and this man James Guckert (a.k.a. Jeff Gannon) - a $200/hour gay male prostitute? (See Monday's expose by John Aravosis of AmericaBlog.org [1])

Sooner or later, Washington will have to ask: Did George W. Bush Have Sex with That Man, James Guckert?

On January 26, George W. Bush called on Guckert/Gannon at one of Bush's rare press conferences, "bypassing dozens of far more experienced reporters" according to Joe Strupp of Editor & Publisher [2].

I guess that depends on the meaning of "experienced."

This was not Guckert/Gannon's first time near Bush. Guckert/Gannon was at other Bush press conferences and was called on by Bush once before. Moreover, Guckert/Gannon went to the White House nearly every day for nearly 2 years. Each time he went, he got specific permission from Scott McClellan's White House Press Office. And Guckert/Gannon went to Bush's White House Christmas Party.

How did a $200/hour gay male prostitute get near George W. Bush nearly every day for 2 years?

Don't tell me the Secret Service didn't know Guckert/Gannon's background. It took amateur bloggers at DailyKos about 5 minutes to find out Gannon owned male prostitution websites, and just two weeks for Aravosis to find out he was a $200/hour sexual partner / wife substitute. I guarantee Scott McClellan and other top White House officials knew exactly who Guckert/Gannon was. According to RawStory.com, McClellan himself has been spotted at gay bars [3].

So how will the American people learn the sordid truth about Bush, the White House, and Guckert.

The point is this, John Edwards demonstrates (as does Bill Clinton) that people are able and willing to go to great lengths to circumvent the law to keep "private sex scandals" private.

I think most folks prefer a sober, level headed political leader who has no vices which may lend themselves to either be distracted or manipulated by others.

Read a little about the Profumo Affair and come back to the table.

How many spouses would put up with this and maintain a public persona? The fact that she was willing to maintain the dog and pony show says something about all 3 participants of this drama.

Liberal media? Don't make me laugh. Why don't you take off your tin foil hat and have a seat at the big kids table for a change?

Political sex scandals are a Republican's wet dreams, they are the only ones that care about such things. High minded, intellectuals don't give two goose eggs about what a politicians private life is like. Please explain to me how a persons sex life will put this country in danger!

Posted by: Sick of this story | August 12, 2008 10:12 AM

Now I'm starting to think that John didn't tell Elizabeth about the affair in 2006. There's no way Elizabeth would have agreed to Reille accompanying John on the presidential announcement tour. Maybe Elizabeth found out much later... or even recently.

Posted by: Deb | August 12, 2008 10:12 AM

Hey, "Sick of this story" is it boring because you hate to see your liberal buddies exposed for who they really are? How can you say this isn't newsworthy? Crimes were most likely committed here by a man just running for POTUS and who was on the short list to be VP!

Go back to reading Pelosi's book.

Who took the picture of Edwards and the baby? The camera must have been concealed because he never would have allowed it to be there if he had known. The question is, if there was a concealed camera, was he set up? If so, who set him up?

"Bill Clinton was being impeached for an affair and lying about it."

Technically correct, but a phrase that has been remarkably coopted by Clinton supporters to suggest it was simply a "private affair".

In truth, it was not a private affair as he was the subject of a law suite and he lied under oath in a deposition. A co-equal branch of govt (Supreme Court) voted in favor of the plaintiff that the president was not immune to a civil case in which he was alleged to have engaged in a sexual assult.

The plantiff's attorney was aware of similar rumours and accusations and sought to have those allegations admitted to substantiate a pattern and practice of bad behavior.

The prez not only lied in the deposition in an effort to deny a woman her constitutionally protected rights and pervert justice but he, his wife and his supporters went to great lengths to destroy the lives of those they singled out.

How many times did we hear of "white trailer trash", "ugly", "right wing consiracy" "lies" etc...

Now it is widely accepted that Bill Clinton has a problem keeping it in his pants and those early claims don't seem so far fetched at all.

But we forget Bill Clinton's remarkable use of his office and powers within the executive branch to attack a co-equal branch of govt and demonize an officer of the court.

We tend to forget that he was the subject of a civil trial for sexual assult and he attempted to derail her day in court. Everything else is tangential.

It is one of the most shameful periods in recent presidential history and only surpassed (mildly) by the Nixon era.

Fortunately, Bill Clinton is the future James Buchanan and will largely be forgotten in the annals of history.

Posted by: Bill | August 12, 2008 10:05 AM

The LA Times, NY Times and all the other liberal papers wouldn't even touch this story until days ago. These rags get even the hint of a Republican doing something like this and it makes front page (witness the hatch job on McCain).

I think all these stories should be written about, it's just the mainstreem liberal media is so one sided.

I just wonder if others hate these sex scandals as much as I do? Lives ruined, careers destroyed, families hurt beyond imagination. Why, is what I ask, do these political figures continue to take the chances? Why, do educated and intelligent politicians risk everything for an uncontrolled fling? Clinton ring a bell? Why would a President of the United States risk it all for a fling? Why, would Edwards, an up and coming politician on his way to bigger things risk it all for a fling? Are they stupid, what have they accomplished from a few hours of sneaky pete fun? Nothing! I am constantly amazed how people can throw away everything for a brief sexual fling, especially when they declare that "I did not love her". If love was involved in a secret relationship, I may be more sympathetic. But when it is just lust and the feeling that "I am so important and powerful I can do this and get away with it" -- it comes out disgusting, immature, stupid, and perverted to my way of thinking. Narcissistic yep!

I have a question for everyone on this board -- something I don't understand. WHY, do the pundits on cable TV keep harping on "this story was ignored by the mainstream media!"

They ARE the mainstream media aren't they? Fox in particular is hammering on this -- so why didn't THEY grab the story from the Enquirer last winter when the rest of us read about it.

Posted by: ganana | August 12, 2008 9:52 AM

two questions; why is this news? This guy will never be president and wasn't she working for him, making campaign videos. Wouldnt you expect her to be there?

Hell, they ARE the mainstream media aren't they? Fox in particular is hammering on this -- so why didn't THEY grab the story from the Enquirer last winter when the rest of us read about it.

The Enquirer gets people out there in the field to do the leg work, pays its informants, and gets the stories. These stories are worth going after because they involve momentous questions like "who will be our next president?" A man or woman that can't live a reasonably decent and moral life doesn't deserve to lead the rest of us, and should be exposed if their lives become a web of lies.

I know this is not a popular view, but IMO, Elizabeth Edwards shares some of the blame for this fiasco as well. She never should have encouraged him to run for President. Over the years, the both of them have exploited their dead son, their oldest daughter (whom they used as a baby-sitter in the 2004 campaign, from what I could see), and their two youngest children (whom they took out of school and dragged all over the country on campaign stops) for their own selfish, political ends. This narcissism, and willingness to use the weak to get whatever he wants, not the affair itself, should be the real story. Unfortunately, Barack Obama is doing exactly the same thing Edwards did, minus the affair. One only has to see how he and Michelle Obama are exploiting their young daughters for political advantage to see the truth in this statement -- this is why we saw the Obama daughters being interviewed for a four part Extra interview, and on the covers of People and Ebony magazines. The Obamas should be protecting these two girls from the press the way the Clintons protected Chelsea. Instead, the Obamas preen them for the next photo op, just the way the Edwards did with their young kids. It's disgusting.

I am sure the biggies would revolt but if you would publish their pictures, indictments and other stuff once a week or month as front page news these people would go very dorment. But many people once they get into office or a position of trust see that stealing, screwing around as reward. The hardest thing many officials have to face is not being exposed but losing the free lunch. Political corruption is now to rampent that people ignore it knowing the current official wil just be replaced by someone else.

Just curious about the bile vented at Rielle Hunter....why all the hatred?

Your invective should be focused on John Edwards. He is the one that appears to have orchestrated an elaborate scheme to violate his oaths to his wife, violate multiple federal laws and use his position to drag other participants into this enterprise which will likely cause others to face federal charges and potentially devestate their lives.

All the while Mr Edwards used his familial relationships to take the high moral ground to lecture others. What chutzpah!

Increasingly, it appears that Mrs Edwards was aware of this situation but for whatever reason (and I think we can guess why) tacitly participated in this charade.

A pox on all of their houses but let us place the invective on the primary source of this whole affair, John Edwards.

His "deep love for his wife as she battles cancer" has been exposed for what it is/was, a shameful, meaningless political expression used to gain sympathy for his numero uno client...himself.

Hunter was literally just a vessel for Edwards' self absorption and narcissism.

One wonders if Rielle Hunter is simply the latest manifestation of a deeper impulse.

Dems and Repubs agree on one thing that extra marital affairs don't see political divide. Bill Clinton was being impeached for an affair and lying about it and at the same time Newt Gingrish was having and affair. McCain did it long time ago, his sins have been washed away by national amnesia. And now Edwards, newly created pastime for us.

What happened to good old morality?

Johnny might need some of his high priced lawyering skills to get out of this one.

He's probably broken 2-3 federal election laws as well as violated IRS statutes. As his political career is over, some of his most trusted sycophants will be getting off the Edwards Express and all too willing to tell investigators what they know in lieu of criminal charges.

Moreover, Edwards has said just enough to have his "come clean" account exposed as a web of convenient lies.

Unless he can pull some strings, people are going to be deposed and federal investigators will need to pull this thing apart.

As this case likely involves tax and election law violations, I would suggest that this thing is just getting started. But never under estimate the ability of money and influence to make bad things go away.

Lastly, the Clinton camp has every incentive to use operatives to keep this thing alive. It underlines to her supporters the notion that they were robbed, distracts the media from Obama and provides a useful narrative if Obama looses in the general while setting the table for Clinton in 2012.

Pop the popcorn and settle in for an interesting fall.

It did not take long for me to figure out what was up and that toast and jam was not on this young ladies mind. To be honest the tempatation was thier. The thought that my lovely wife of nearly twenty years was at home many miles away with my two children sent the better part of my nature to the front and I finished my breakfast, paid my bill and went on about my business. I never regretted it and my lovely young wife of nearly 26 years never had to face this kind of humilation. Say good night Johhny

I predict that the FBI will be looking into John Edwards' use of campaign funds to pay off his mistress.

And for those who say it doesn't matter, do you want someone like Edwards who condemned Bill Clinton for the Lewinsky affair to a newspaper and then do the same thing himself ? It is our business because he made his so-called superior marriage our business and because he used his wife's illness for political gain and to garner sympathy with the voters.

And if I were a cancer survivor, I would be FURIOUS by that callous remark that he waited til his wife's cancer was in remission before starting the affair. Do we even know that's true ?

It's not the lie so much as the coverup that's done him in. Watch for the National Enquirer to blow the mainstream media out of the water once, again, as they report new developments.
Kudos to the Enquirer who would not be intimidated. The wussy mainstream reporters could take some lessons in determination and ferocity from the Enquirer reporters.
Shame on the Washington Post and the New York Times for not pursuing this aggressively.

Posted by: Glynn | August 12, 2008 7:25 AM

The difference is that McCain married the "other woman" and is still with her after 30 years. It was not just a sleazy affair when afterwards saying (as did Edwards) that "I didn't love her" after he got caught, announcing that to the world, and "it was when my wife's cancer was in remission." Oh that makes it okay?

Posted by: Tag | August 12, 2008 7:19 AM

To all those people who use misdirection to excuse Edwards by saying, Oh, Oh what about McCain? Well the truth about McCain is that he had been gone almost six years (as you all know by now), wife not knowing if he's dead or alive. In six years of separation people change especially after 5-1/2 of those years were spent being tortured. They never got back together in "symbionic" ways - ever, not after he came back. Still married, still trying but not together. Anyone understand that? They were already on their way to splitting before Cindy, period. End of story. The problem is Edwards preaching family values and "I'm such a good husband and father" mantra and Edwards even accepted father of the year award! That is what the difference is about McCain.

Posted by: tag | August 12, 2008 7:11 AM

So, I guess she was ok with the affair being "over", right? I mean - this is late 2006 and the affair was over, right? Or maybe they slept with each other until December 31st at 11:59 and THEN the affair was over because John Edwards SAID the affair did not happen in 2007. And John Edwards wouldn't lie about this anymore because he was in love with his wife AGAIN starting in 2007, right?

Posted by: Jane | August 12, 2008 6:43 AM

the upside of the story is that Ann Coulter's assertion that Edwards is gay has been disproven

Posted by: malach hamovess | August 12, 2008 6:40 AM

Hello,
Let's talk about McCain's indiscrations and hypocrisies!

Posted by: Charly | August 12, 2008 6:19 AM

Why is it that John Edwards' affair has garnered so much attention but John McCain's affair(s) have not? One newspaper reporter recently commented quickly that McCain's affair(s) are simply old news. Why? Because he married one of his mistresses? The one whose father was wealthy enough to buy him a Senate seat? I beg to differ about the importance of airing McCain's dirty linen, as well as that of Edwards. Edwards might have been running for president, but McCain still is and he's not pure, just in case somebody didn't get the message. And most people under a certain age didn't.

It seems to me that if revelation, rather than revenge, is the cautionary message in the Edwards story, then McCain's revelation should be part of the package--or the package should never have been opened.

Posted by: New Boston Yankee | August 12, 2008 6:02 AM

Edwards's defenders on this comment thread are true idiots. No one cares about his wife. She is a phony and she's as big a political hack as he is. The reason this is so disgusting is that Edwards spent the last four years sanctimoniously lecturing us about morality and holding himself out as the champion of the poor. All the while he was moving into 20,000 square foot mansions, getting $400 haircuts and cheating on the wife who's battle with cancer he used as a centerpiece of his campaign in 2007. He used the death of his son for political gain in 2004. In his book, Bob Shrum describes how Edwards creeped out John Kerrey by telling him twice how his son's death had led him to want to help people. Edwards is a sanctimonious phony and that is why he is being criticized. Edwards = Jimmy Swaggart = Ted Haggard. No one cares about McCain's adultery 30 years ago because isn't as full of it as Edwards is and he never paraded his wife around for political gain.

Posted by: EddieinLA | August 12, 2008 5:48 AM

If only you would give the same attention to covering the issues as you do to Edwards. Or cover MCCain's adultery on his disabled first wife for years or his getttig a marriage license to marry Cindy in 1980 while still married to his first wife. Or that Ross Perot payed the medical bill for McCain's first wife.Or McCain's corruption and anti-vet voting record. Or Bush's multi lies on almost erverything that has cost us so dearly in so many ways. Or your own affairs. You are a flock of hypocrits and we deserve better..

Men are really damned to a hellish existence in america. First you have to have a wife to be taken seriously. Can you imagine some happy go lucky permanent bachelor running for president? All the other miserable married people in america wouldn't stand for it. So then to get to the top socially men are required to basically forget they are men and pretend they are eunuchs and write off their sex life. Oooh and then when they get caught watch out...it's clobbering time. Screw the states and screw marriage, when are american men going to wake up and realize that they have all become a chain gang of eunuchs working in the salt mine?

I just don't see why this story still has legs. If he won the Democratic nomination, yeah, it would be a major character issue, but he didn't come close enough to winning that any Democrats should feel as though they "dodged a bullet". John Edwards hasn't been relevant since Iowa, and this revelation just ensures he's going to stay that way.

It's funny how the system works. Here we have hours and hours of air time and gallons of ink being used to describe this moral outrage that is named John Edwards. This man is no longer running for office -so who really cares? Yet we also have John McCain who is running for the nation's highest office, and who is a self-confessed adulterer and there is not a peep out of the mainstream media. Where is the moral outrage here? Pretty selective, wouldn't you say?

Well, Bubba, you doofus, since John EDWARDS is no longer running for POTUS and hasn't been for a long time, I suppose you intended for your idiotic comment to apply to McDepends, the Repubichair nominee who IS currently running for POTUS. You do recall that McSurge is the loon who: 1) cheated on his SEVERELY DISABLED WIFE; 2) carried on his affair with the plastic Cindy in the DC house that McConfused shared with his SEVERELY DISABLED WIFE AND YOUNG CHILDREN (I hope McBush changed the sheets before his SEVERELY DISABLED WIFE & YOUNG CHILDREN came to town from AZ); 3) got a marriage license with his mistress BEFORE he divorced his SEVERELY DISABLED WIFE AND ABANDONED HIS YOUNG CHILDREN; 4) married his current plastic wife a mere month after he finally divorced his SEVERELY DISABLED first WIFE AND ABANDONED HIS YOUNG CHILDREN; 4) left his SEVERELY DISABLED FIRST WIFE penniless and homeless to the point that she had to move in with the Reagans and they had to give her a job just so she could pay her bills; 5) pays his SEVERELY DISABLED FIRST WIFE, whom he cheated on & divorced for his mistress (the plastic Cindy), a mere $18,000 per year in alimony (a mere $49.00 per day - I wonder what that buys a SEVERELY DISABLED FIRST WIFE - does it pay for her meds? her home healthcare worker? her food? her medical bills? Hell, Ross Perot had to step in and pay those after McIdiot ABANDONED HIS SEVERELY DISABLED FIRST WIFE AND HIS YOUNG CHILDREN), while he and the plastic Cindy sit back and decide which of their seven homes they'll stay in during a particular day of the week or where to fly their private jet off to or which of plastic Cindy's $3000.00+ foreign-made suits to wear on a particular day or which of the $500+ shoes McInsane will wear or which credit card they'll use in a particular week to run up $150K in debt.

You repubichairs really didn't think your line of attack on Edwards through too well did you? Nevermind, your name is Bubba. YOU F*****G Idiot!!!

I'm sure this story has legs. The "follow the money" aspect is going to be big. But there could also be other women. If a guy cheats on his wife, it's usually with more than one woman, over time. And I wouldn't be at all surprised if that didn't also hold true for Sen. McCain, who has lived in DC for years - and was part of the wild John Tower crowd - while his wife has lived in Arizona.

Who would've expected a 43 year-old to get pregnant?

In the immortal words of Marion Barry, "B1tch set me up!"

Posted by: And then | August 12, 2008 1:18 AM

To Jeremy and Tom Stone:

It's not about the adultery, it's about the hypocrisy and the cover-up (isn't it always?). Edwards a) condemned Clinton's behavior b) put himself forward as a better candidate for president than Hillary in part because his relationship with his spouse was superior (in fact he used the cancer story to build up sympathy for his campaign) c) accepted an award for Father of the Year (!); d) denied the story even when confronted with the evidence; e)his friend apparently paid for his secret lover, his possible love child and the staffer who claimed it was his to move to California, and presumably, to keep quiet; and finally e) his lover was paid by contributions to Edwards anti-poverty charity for making videos and, perhaps, other services rendered.
Now, how is that comparable to McCain? How is that a simple case of adultery? This is corruption, arrogance and breath-taking hypocrisy. Not to mention that he would have destroyed the Dems chances of winning in 2008 if he had actually won the nomination (or even been selected as VP).

Why do all these politicians cheat with ugly girls? Monica Lewinsky, this ugly chick Rielle Hunter

At least John F Kennedy had good taste and slept with Marilyn Monroe.

Posted by: Ididyourmom | August 12, 2008 12:40 AM

Would it bother me if the Attorney General of the United States had an affair with a crack ho (which is what Hunter sounds like if you read her bio) and paid for it with campaign funds? Um, yes, it would. If the amounts paid to Hunter much exceeded the fair market value of crappy videos she produced, as seems clearly to be the case, then we have what amounts to cash payments for meretricious services. Spin as you please, the inferences are clear.

Posted by: Chuck Cardiff | August 12, 2008 12:40 AM

Wait til they follow the money and find a million+ of Edwards campaign money was spent to keep the little sweetie quiet and pay for her homes.

Posted by: Obomination | August 12, 2008 12:35 AM

John McCain has already admitted to cheating on his first wife (Carol McCain) with his current wife (Cindy). People either don't know this, have forgotten it, or have decided to overlook this. Yet they are all outraged about this latest infidelity scandal with John Edwards. Does that seem fair? Does the fact that John McCain's sex scandal happened years ago lessen the fact that he cheated on his wife? Whether you cheat on your wife now or in the past, your character is still questionable.

So, if you are so upset about John Edwards now, you should also be upset about John McCain's record of fidelity and not trust him either. Be consistent.

Posted by: Tom Stone | August 12, 2008 12:31 AM

So the paper just found this out, Ms Rielle
went along as a photographer on the campaign announcement, (2006) she was fired after that. Mrs. Edwards probably suspected her, and had her fired, that's what Rielle told the reporter from Newsweek, Darwan, article from Newsweek talking about when he met Hunter in 2006, covering Edwards, she flirted with Edwards, he did not flirt back,so he didn't suspect her at all. A lot of people were looking and not paying attention, that's too bad, I wish had been there, because I was suspect of her since I first heard about her in 2006.
Joe Trippi, said he never met her and he came to work for the campaign in Feb. 2007, it seems she disappears for a while.
Of course she could have been in the many places he traveled without anyone seeing her in the crowd. But the staff would have seen her. We need him with her in 2007 May and June. Rumors father will be revealed on Friday, we'll see. If Edwards is the father, he should have said so on the interview on ABC, and we would not be talking too much about this today. It's over, go haunt, the neo-con family values Senator Vitter who went to the prostitute, who was obviously murdered, suicide, I don't think so, cover up, yes.

Where is the discernment of the American public? This man's whole life story is one of the charlatan, able to ingratiate himself to credulous juries and gullible voters. The man would say anything if he thought that it would bring him money and power. He was masterful at playing the class envy game, which is a remarkable achievement for one who lived in a mansion and spent more money on his hair than most people spend on food. Good riddance from the halls of political power.

Guess it's now open season on politician's infidelities. John -- you and Cindy better 'fess up right now -- the National Inquirer is on your case. Great story too. Wife of years, loyal during husband's years of captivity, messed up badly in a car accident after he returns home. Beautiful, sexy and oh so rich young thing comes on the scene. And the rest, as they say, is history. Any bets on when the MSM picks up the story?

I'm a horrible husband. I do as little work around the house as possible, I'm a slob, I drink often, I fart and burp freely, I could care less about how I look, and, generally, have somewhat of a disshelved look about me.

I know I sound like quite a catch. And yet, there are women out there who find me attractive, ones who I am not married to.

I've had many chances to venture or "make a mistake." And yet, I've never really come close to acting on it.

Is it really that difficult to stay faithful?

Yeah, I'm not really interested in people's personal life. But, if you think you can be president of this country and don't have the strentgh to be faithful to your wife, well, maybe, you aren't cut out for the job.

Sad--Ain't it. Such a nice boy and the liberal media are finally forced to report his "indiscretions'. I thought adultery, rape, and sodomy was a resume enhancer for Democrats. Silly me. It is really sad when The New York Times, DNC Propaganda Service, is shown how reporting is done by The National Enquirer.

Posted by: dumbfounded | August 11, 2008 11:29 PM

I could care less about the infidelities and quite frankly am not at all surprised. However when somebody chooses to become a public figure they MUST either fess up to prior "missteps" and accept how the chips may fall, or if there are too many skeletons in the closet back away from public service. It galls me that Elizabeth is blaming the media and asking all of us to stop inquiring. She was a willing participant by keeping the affair a secret and allowing her husband to lie in public. So in truth the affair as bad as it is, turns out to not be the big story at all. I suspect the money trail will force authorities to look at his campaign spending. It doesn't look good for Edwards.

The Dems can just be thankful that these 3 refugees from Tobacco Road didn't end up putting The Breck Girl on the ticket. The party would have been in a worse mess than it is with the messiah at the helm.

So what? Do we only revere Popes? Why are we surprised that humans have foibles? Or do we only accept foibles that we prefer over others? And if so, who made us the Judges of Morality?

Come on, folks. Hundreds, maybe thousands are being slaughtered in Georgia. The killings continue in Darfur, in Iraq, and elsewhere, and we're oh so focused on John Edwards' private deceptions, known by Elizabeth since last year. Can we just let them deal with it and move on? Can we just get a life?

Posted by: Chuckamok | August 11, 2008 10:58 PM

I have read about this and written about it also, yet I am interested to read the comments of others. It seems that the Presidential race has two candidates that would not be acceptable to probably any honorable company as their CEO. I know McCain is more prolife than Obama and that would be my reason for voting for him. However, after I read the comments of the news that was suppressed it is demoralizing in the sense that if you cannot trust the Mainstream Media [MSM] to report the real news, like what kind of character those who run for public office consistently have, then how could you ever know if what you read in the MSM about anything is true? The propensity to 'hide' the mistakes of the dems and publicize the mistakes of the republicans is the standard fare of most news agencies in the US. For instance, where is the reminder of all those promises the dems made in 2004 to get the US out of the Iraqi war immediately as soon as elected? The Press is conveniently forgetful of the unkept promises of the dems, it seems to me.
I am thinking that the Bible words are true. That the barbarians/heathens from within destroy any nation, not the barbarians/heathens from other countries.

Here come the liberals to defend Edwards by claiming this is "just about sex". No, this story, like the Clinton saga is about moral character (or lack thereof). As Edwards, himself, correctly observed: "I think every single candidate for president, Republican and Democratic have lives, personal lives, that indicate something about what kind of human being they are. And I think it is a fair evaluation for America to engage in to look at what kind of human beings each of us are, and what kind of president we’d make."

Unfortunately, most liberals don't have the capacity to understand moral character... hence their rush to defend yet another Democrat cretin.

The Washington Post never ran a news story about General Taguba acusing the Bush administration of war crimes (they did have a blog post that did) yet they think it's newsworthy to give us detail upon detail of Edwards' infidelity. Edwards is no longer a presidential candidate and we all know that he cheated on his wife. If anyone wants all the salacious details they can buy a copy of the Enquirer because they specialize in that kind of story. We need REAL news from the Post not tabloid stories designed to titilate and entertain us.

This Hunter woman is just plain evil. Her new age bs is really just dressed up excuses for being an ugly ho. She "blames" Elizabeth Edwards for having her fired? YOU BETCHA! and, elizabeth edwards should have boxed your ears and kicked you in the fanny Hunter. The "healing" bs this woman and this mcgovern spout is really blackmail (they more than likely set Edwards up) Healing does not trash a woman whose husband you are illicitly bonking. This woman is a user. I hope she has dreams and vision sent from the Living God that show her her awful sin and she repents. She is a golden calf - taking money and wanting more and willing to lie, cheat and steal for it. Her child should be removed from her because she is a very bad person and will obviously teach her child her evil ways.
Elizabeth Edwards - I think you did the absolute right thing to have that ho fired. Let Jesus come into your heart and He will heal you.

Meanwhile the press was totally in on it and kept it quiet. Yet the ever so Holier than Thou NY Times called McCain an adulterer.

And the same press is on their hands and knees licking Obama's shoes....or whatever.

Posted by: Dr. Dave | August 11, 2008 10:25 PM

Once a cheater, always a Cheater

Adultery cast a shadow on a person's ethics. However, it does not necessarily mean that the offending person would be a bad president unless; the said affair affects tax payers, credibility of the person, the office he/she occupies or the one being aspired for.

John McCain had a well-documented affair on his first wife, with his current wife. He has admitted this in books he has written about his life that he ran around with several different women while still married to his first wife. And don't forget that he left her for a younger, richer woman who is now Cindy McCain. He then later went on to cheat on Cindy with lobbyist Vicki Iseman.

Vicki Iseman represented telecommunication companies on the Senate Commerce Committee that John chaired. They contributed tens of thousands of dollars to McCain's campaigns. In return, McCain championed de-regulation for them. He pressured the FCC to uphold marketing agreements allowing a television company to control two stations in the same city. He introduced a bill to create tax incentives program for them. Two times, he tried to advance legislation that would permit a company to control television stations in overlapping markets (an important issue for Vicki's largest client). If John Edwards' political career is over, why isn't John McCain's? Is John credible enough to be trusted to serve as our next President?

The "electoral process" which we enact every 4 years has been so thoroughly sullied, manipulated, trivialized, tarnished, co-opted, bought and controlled by the wealthy that a cursory examination of the past 28 years will readily confirm that the monied interests have continued to aggrandize their wealth and power no matter WHO gets into the White House! Why is everyone upset about this politician's behavior? Other high-ranking officials of both parties have systematically committed offenses far mor egregious and received far less scrutiny! The corporate media has learned that a "spin" on any subject can "guide" the direction of "debate" on that subject. John Edwards and his behavior are par for the course. Neither political party is exempt from criticism. Neither is blameless. Both have contributed to the cheapening of life and the deliberate coarsening of society.

‘CONCERNED’ PARENTS ATTACK CONVICTED ARMED ROBBER FOR CONTROVERSIAL LYRICS

While serving time in multiple Wisconsin State prisons for the Robbery and Kidnapping of a City of Milwaukee detectives daughter, Newt Turner, CEO of G Livin Entertainment, designed the blueprint for an entertainment company called, “G-Livin” – which is known for its’ empowering and inspirational ideology. But now his movement is has been widely criticized by music executives, critics, religious organizations and parents for its’ graphic and violent subject matter.

He says, " I feel like if majority of Americans can accept these pedophile Catholic priests molesting and raping their children, then I should be able to heal those emotional scars through my music and literature, without censorship issues.”
A mother of four from Raleigh, North Carolina – who asked to remain anonymous said, “The song, “TeenAnger” should be banned from radio and stores. If the government allows him to release that music, then he should be liable for any violence children may commit after listening to it.”

“These whacked out parents don’t understand the mentalities and the emotional needs of their own children, said Newt. They don’t take the necessary time to learn about what they created. There are reasons why kids go to school and shoot everybody up. There was a reason my homegirl blew her head off her shoulders. There is a reason why a three year old girl starts crying when you leave her alone with her grandfather. I am just giving you the reasons why.”

“I don't care what people may say or think about who I am, what I am or what I am about. I refuse to let the opinions and comments of others deter me from my mission and vision. I’m always gonna stand up for what I believe in, even if I’m the only one standing”

Time Waits For No One: The First Gospel is a graphic and terrifying entry gate into a world we have never seen in music or literature. It’s a world of child abuse, sex, betrayal, ambitious lust, violence, revenge and the imprisonment of mind body and soul.

It is scheduled to be released the fall of 2008.
