Change vs. Experience on the NY Tarmac
By Jonathan Weisman
NEW YORK -- It was "Change You Can Believe In" versus the might and experience of the federal government on the tarmac of LaGuardia Airport this morning as Barack Obama's airplane lined up next to Laura Bush's red-white-and-blue United States of America Air Force jet.
Obama's plane was loading up for a two-day swing through New Hampshire. Laura had arrived to kick off a summit on service in Manhattan. The tarmac tableau created the contrast Obama has been seeking as he tries to throw John McCain off the change message and link him to President Bush. Unfortunately for Obama, McCain's jet was nowhere to be seen.
