Hillary Clinton, Al Franken and the Return of the Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy

By Paul Kane
MINNEAPOLIS -- Stepping back into the campaign spotlight, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) came to Minnesota tonight to urge the election of comedian-commentator-candidate Al Franken to the Senate.

"Al Franken was taking on the vast right-wing conspiracy before other people even admitted it existed," she told a crowd of 2,000 supporters on the University of Minnesota campus, urging them to give her rival, Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama, a filibuster-proof margin in the Senate. "Al Franken, with your help, can be our 60th vote."

Clinton, after stumping in Florida yesterday and Omaha earlier today on behalf of Obama, demonstrated she is still one of the prime draws among Democrats, even in a state where she was trounced by Obama in the Feb. 5 caucuses. More than 1,500 supporters crammed into the campus's McNamara Alumni Center, with another 600 in an overflow room and outside, where a massive big-screen television simulcast the rally. Franken aides said the only rally of theirs that compared in size was former vice president Al Gore's appearance earlier this month, which 1,500 people appeared.

This campaign swing for Clinton, which concludes tonight with a rally in northern Minnesota's "Iron Range," came as the runner-up in the nomination battle ramped up her own political efforts.

In late September Clinton -- for the first time this year -- opened up the checkbook of her political action committee, issuing $75,000 to House and Senate candidates, according to reports filed with the Federal Election Commission yesterday. Since resuming fundraising for Hill PAC in July, Clinton has raised more than $1.1 million. Earlier this decade she used Hill PAC as her vehicle for making contributions to key candidates in politically important states, plotting her course toward this year's national campaign.

In backing Franken tonight, Clinton gave a full-throated endorsement of someone who earlier this year was facing allegations that a 2000 guest column he penned for Playboy Magazine was demeaning toward women. Franken said the piece -- with a headline of "Porn-O-Rama" -- was meant as satire.

Clinton has known Franken since the early 1990s and made fun of his comedic past but said it was the first-time candidate's way of telling "truth through jokes."

"Sure, he's been a comedian, and occasionally he's even been funny," she joked.

Bill Clinton was an execellent president? Let see, Couldn't keep his pants up in the Oval office--not to mention the many more complaints of sexual assualt/harassment from other women he came into contact with; The unanswered attacks against America ie. USS Cole, Word Trade Center 1993, Marine barracks etc etc; He had Osama bin Laden in handcuffs and did not know what to do with him--so he released him; Attorney General Janet Reno probably the worst Attorney Gerneral this country has every seen- Her handling of WACO-- Clinton should have accepted her resignation when she offered it; Sandy Berger stealing documents to cover for Clinton's gross errors. I think we could go on all day, but the bottom line is he was not a excellent president. How different this country could have been if he would have spent more time actually dealing with the assaults on this country than running around the oval office with his pants around his ankles.

Oh the audacity to believe/consider that a Franken satire on pornography written for Playboy — not exactly your coffee-table literature would be of concern and any business of the voters. That he had the creative ability to compose a humorous discussion about bestiality with his son is not a subject fit for public discussion, just too creativity personal. But I can imagine two creative minds of similar imagination of the party of Intentions would be a match from heaven. Both or either can likely offer each other variation of smut to enhance the electability any candidate of the party of Intentions.
Dude!!! Any one leaving off such employment information of any resume I received once discovered would be grounds for dismissal from any Joe the aspiring to make more than $250K small business owner. You were hired but now you’re FIRED!!!!

Last time we heard such shrill words flowing from her sensous mouth was when Bill was making those white deposits on Monica's lovely blue dress. Whatever credibility she has left she is wasting on this POS running for Senate. That is the funniest joke this clown has ever put forth. Get smart voters in MN don't send this SOCIALIST too.

Note the flat region of the curve from the 1950's to 1980 when Ronald Reagan took over - then the debt TAKES OFF like a rocket.

Ask yourselves why has almost the ENTIRE multi-trillion dollar national debt been created under REPUBLICAN ADMINISTRATIONS? - Reagan, Bush Sr., Bush Jr.?

They take taxpayer money and funnel it into the pockets of halliburton, enron, blackwater, oil companies, rich texas cronies, wall street investment banks, and saudi terrorists.

Exhibit A:

Orrin Hatch (R) (card carrying member of the right wing conspiracy)is quoted saying funding osama bin laden "was worth it" in 1998! Your tax dollars at work courtesy of the right wing conspiracy - a small sampling of the debt foisted on America by right wingers

"Indeed, to this day, those involved in the decision to give the Afghan rebels access to a fortune in covert funding and top-level combat weaponry continue to defend that move in the context of the Cold War. Sen. Orrin Hatch, a senior Republican on the Senate Intelligence Committee making those decisions, told my colleague Robert Windrem that he would make the same call again today even knowing what bin Laden would do subsequently. “It was worth it,” he said."

Hillary is supposed to be a middle of the road liberal. This shows how ultra left wing she is, by supporting the piece of crap Franken. I would like to know if Obama also endorse this clown... I will not vote for him if he does.

So, now we are going to blame the National Debt on a president. Is this really what you want to do? Well go right ahead and make sure you also change the graphic to indicate who had control of the senate and the house as the President can't actually spend money.
You might find that the "balancing" of the budget in the Clinton administration which was a facade, actually occured under John Kasich after the Newt Revolution. Under the Bush 43, we faced the most damaging attack in American history which was unprecedented and comparing numbers can hardly be considered valid except for the kool-aid drinking partisans. And lest we forget, Democrats were completely at fault for the collapse of the housing mortgage markets, as well as the debacle that became the "Bailout of Katrina" which still goes on today.

What is really comical is the blame that continues to a President who vetoes almost nothing, has issued a record low number of Executive Orders.

What is continuing to be more amazing than that is this year you are seeing the possible strengthing of the worst congress in all of our recorded American history. In almost incomprehensibly stupid populace, this may be the worst travesty of all in this ridiculous election year which has been irrepairably marred by the total destruction of journalism as we know it, and now Supreme Court sanctioned voter fraud, extending to 20% of the USA now, on the way to institutionalize socialism. Can you say term limits anyone?

I hate to tell you liberals, left wing loonies and Obamaites that there is a little secret you are not willing to think about. Banking on polling in this election in my part of the South is wishful thinking and it probably applies to the North and East as well. Many people who are Democrats but do not and will not put signs in their yards or on their cars do so to imply they are supporting Obama. Then there are those that do advertise their seeming choice BUT when they get in the voting booth.....well, things have a way of getting marked just the opposite to the polling seen on the local and national news casts....know why? They are afraid of Democratic wrath from friend and foe alike.

Money as they say.... is the root of all evil. Mr.Obama backed out of the agreement to use federal funding to limit the cost of running for office along with Sen. McCain...but went back on his word in order to outspend McCain....now that is the major difference between the two candidates. One can be taken for his word and one never can...but the final say will be by those who at the last second will still go for the candidate they can trust.

The source of our economic problems and the reason why we went from budget surplus in 2000 to the highest deficits in history now under W Bush is below.

Ask yourselves why has almost the ENTIRE multi-trillion dollar national debt been created under REPUBLICAN ADMINISTRATIONS? - Reagan, Bush Sr., Bush Jr.? The answer is below.

The right-wing conspiracy funded bin ladens terrorism in the 80's and exploited his terrorism in 2001 to launch wars for oil and to rob the federal gov of trillions of dollars and shred constitutional rights.

Here's what they don't want you to know and what the conservative corporate media covers up.

The quote below is taken from a 1998 article where Orrin Hatch (a republican member of the right-wing conspiracy) lets it slip that backing osama bin ladens terrorism "was worth it"

Proof of partisanship: Hillary wants a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate so that the Democrats can push through anything despite extreme objection (i.e., filibuster) from the Republicans. A true bipartisan would not need that, but rather would recognize the opposition's objections as an opportunity to work together to reach a consensus.

From New York Times, "In N.H., Clinton Cites Bipartisan Work", December 21, 2007:

“As president, I’ll do something George Bush has failed to do – work with the other party to get things done,” Mrs. Clinton said.

What a hypocrite!

Let's get one thing straight. Bill Ayers did NOT fight against the injustice of the Vietnam war. READ his manifesto Praire Fire and hear his recorded words that he fought to overthrow the elected government of the US and to impose a Marxist regime here. He fought for the victory of the communist forces in Vietnam. Now I am old enough to have lived through those days and I know who Ayers was and who his first girlfriend was who blew herself up in the NYC brownstone trying to make a bomb to blow up soldiers at a party at Fort Dix and to know how Dohrn congratulated Charles Manson and made fun of his cohorts plunging a fork into the pregnant Sharon Tate and into her unborn child and who made up a song mocking a man who was made paraplegic by her bombs. So Please, let's not romanticize these Manson loving monsters.

America, be very careful what you wish for, or it may come true.
A completely Democrat (Fascist) US government run by a Socialist President, could do damge that may never be corrected. They will quash all opposition, dessent, and stomp anyone who gets in their way. Remember Nazi Germany?
But the good news is they wont be able to take away our rights and guns as the Nazis did the Jews, Poles, and Czechs, especially in the South and West. And true cowards who do all of their fighting with their mouths, like Franken,Obama, and Chris Dodd, will eventually meet their match.

The occasion of Hillary uttering that statement was all she could muster, and it is a deceptive response to delfect suspicion away to a larger devil which did not exist.

The left wing has loathed their mother country for decades and they are ideologically in bed with our enemy, as always.

Here we have a global war that was spawned because her and her husband did literally NOTHING, despite relentless, increasingly lethal military style attacks against and which blodletted Americans for the entire eight years her husband was responsible for the safety and security of this country. There were no marches, riots, demonstrations because Americans were being systematically slaughtered!!!!! Maher that moron had no intellectuals on television pondering the incompetence of Clinton.

I remember when Clinton had the absolute arrogant gaul to tell us not to make a big deal about the very first World Trade Center bombing. Nothing was done about the bloodletting, nothing was demanded of him or his crew for eight years-and then he has the audacity to lose his temper on television.

In fact someone let the media know, and of course they dutifully reported that we were tracking Osama Bin laden's cellular telephone. But that's no left wing conspiracy now is it?

Considering the almost complete collapse of national security during the Clinton years, concurrent with Chinagate and a lividly criminal National Security Advisor Berger, I think they both need to shut up and take her undeserved-and unearned riches and go home pemanently.

There has been a huge left wing conspiracy that is almost a completed loop.
http://www.homelandsecurityus.com/20081012YB The time for laughing is over.

Obama, and one must ask why the Democrats chose him to begin with, is a very dangerous and deceptive man who outted himself as Muslim in front of all of us on television with George Stepanopolous, who in furtherance of the conspiracy of the insider threat, corrected him immediately.

I for one hope he gets elected, and there is a majority Democrat control-because Americans need to get what they so have longed for. He wants to drastically cut the Defense Budget right in the middle of a global war that directly threatens our lives and longevity as a nation and a people.

I woke up this morning and saw that this story was still linked to Drudge. So I went out to get my morning coffee with two thoughts "Whats a trillion dollars?" and "Hockey and Drudge". First the Trillion Dollars thought -

As of this morning the U.S. National Debt Clock is now at $10,473.640.935.704.38. The $700 billion government bailout for Wall Street pushed this over 11 trillion dollars. So since Bush took office 8 years ago America is gone from a budget surplus to every citizen's share of the debt at over 35,000 dollars. Trillion is now the new billion. Just a few weeks ago McCain said the economy was sound. Just going to the store where the food prices have jumped with some of the basics like cooking oil doubling in cost resonates with more voters then the McCain/Bush/Schmidt/Rove spin for the last 12 days of this election. Now Bush has left a mess that will take years to clean up. But we all know that after the 2008 election, the Republicans will start to run for the next elections in 2010 and 2012. Shouldn't they be held accountable until this mess they left us is cleaned up? Since the 2006 elections we have seen the Republicans as a minority in both the Senate and the Congress stop major bills. After the elections the government will still be divided between both parties. Its clear that the Obama/Biden ticket can work across party lines to end the gridlock in Washington DC. So this story of Obama asking for 10 dollars more is nothing compared to what future elections will cost. We haven't seen nothing yet when it comes to the cost of future elections.

Now for the "Hockey and Drudge" thought - every time a Washington Post article is linked up to Drudge its becomes like Hockey between posters on both sides and as a fan Hockey season has started -

To TonySTL: "love your neighbor" "love each other as I have loved you" . . . I take it you consider the unborn child as not being worthy of that same love. Jesus never mentioned hedge funds in His ministry, either . . . I guess that means its righteous to make a killing off the financial suffering of others.

There are many layers of facts, fiction, prejudices, and fears being aired on this blog.
1. Bill Ayers as a terrorist is ancient history. Even in the 1960s he was fighting against injustice of the war, the draft, and the economy. He is a brilliant educator who has earned his stripes. We all have the right to change!
2. Racial and sexual prejudice highlights the isolation in which many live. Curiosity is both a blessing and a curse. If you have never known, never seen, and never had the respect of a person different from yourself, you have much to learn. We are a world culture. We are a world economy. We have responsibilities to not only our "clones", but to all of the other peoples in the world. Disease, poverty, and economic disaster have no pre-judices. They affect all of us. To be biblical: We are our brother's keepers.
3. Humor can be a great communication: if it is not done with slander and sarcasm. As Cousins demonstrated to us so many years ago, it is also a great healer. Sarcasm is the great put-down. Let us use satire instead of sarcasm.
4. to the post from Shopton: Yes, it is very invigorating to have truly intelligent candidates who are not afraid to be labeled as "bright" or "smart." Do not be humiliated if someone is "smarter" than you are. Use the talents YOU posess. There are many forms of intelligence. Please respect them and use the ones you have! Being intelligent is not the single possession of one race.

There is less than a month until the election, an election that will decide the next President of the United States. The person elected will be the president of all Americans, not just the Democrats or the Republicans, so it's time that we come together, Democrats and Republicans alike.

To show our solidarity as Americans, let's all get together and show each other our support for the candidate of our choice. If you support the policies and character of John McCain, please drive with your headlights on during the day.

If you support Senator Obama, please drive with your headlights off at night.

Thank you for your participation!

Several of the recent posters need to move back to the Washington Times website. I believe that is the more appropriate place for the freepers and dittoheads. Another note: in the Gospels, Jesus never mentioned abortion once. Not once. My reading of the Gospels suggests that Jesus was opposed to war and torture, that he wanted to help the sick and the poor, things often neglected by Republicans.

To all of you (and Barack "righteous wind at our back" Obama) that think Jesus is backing Sen. Obama's campaign, I wouldn't have the audacity to "speak" for Jesus; I would, and do speak His Gospel, which is the only answer for this nation and the inhabitants of this world. Knowing His gospel, I am confident that He would not support the election of a national leader who supports the murder of unborn children. When He spoke of "what you do to the least of these . . .", is there anyone among you who truly think Jesus would turn His back on an unborn child? God bless.

She's like an old shoe ~ scuffed at the front, cracked in the middle, worn down at the heel and ready for the trash bin.

She no longer gives reasons, just finger-pointing and excuses, i.e., the "right wing conspiracy", the "media conspiracy", the "voter conspiracy", the "experience conspiracy", the "debate conspiracy", the "small vendor conspiracy", etc.

Sorry, Hillary ~ I wouldn't have voted for you in 2008 because of your baggage train, and if you choose to run in 2012, I won't vote for you then.

By the way, don't we have enough liars, thieves, crooks and jokers in Congress already? Why do we need another one, particulary someone who cheats on their taxes, has a gutter mouth and demeans women?

Posted by: ward5354 | October 23, 2008 9:33 AM | Report abuse

Hillary used to slap the "vast right wing conspiracy" label on everything she didn't like. Such as, the Lewinski troubles! First of all, to be a 'conspiracy', there has to be some type of clandestine group out there planting evidence and making things up from the shadows. I'm pretty sure that the group putting out info on the Clinton's were the Republican's in the US Congress, namely the House under Newt Gingrich. So you really can't call that group cladestine. Secondly, Bill ended up admitting to most of the stuff that Hillary called the product of the "vast right wing conspiracy". Such as, Lewinski-gate. So, in effect, it just turns out that the things Hillary credited to the "Vast Right Wing Conspiracy" turned out to be left wing lies, cover ups and just bad policy, government and insults to our own intelligence. Clintons suck!

"You're not only hearing things, you're making stuff up. ..."

And knowingly so: http://tinyurl.com/3n9m8k

"The agent in charge of the Secret Service field office in Scranton said allegations that someone yelled “kill him” when presidential hopeful Barack Obama’s name was mentioned during Tuesday’s Sarah Palin rally are unfounded."

Given the fact that "kill him" has been proven to be a bogus report, not heard by anyone but the reporter, given the fact that Acorn has registered hundreds of thousands of non-real, not-valid, and sometimes deceased people...given the fact that the push for early, drive-in, and vote the day you sign up tactics which can't be checked-out are mainly the provenance of the Democratic Party, I can't imagine what the heck Hillary is alluding to...nor what some of the commentors either.
Franken and Barney Franks are symbolic of what the Democrats are offering....both are vast left wing assaults on decent people and the Country..neither worthy of anyone's vote. I saw a Franken's "comedy" routine one time and his assault on God was amazing....almost made me want to be around when he got his comeuppance and to see the look on his face when the entity he so vilified turns him away. When all is said and done, when the Democrats stop free speech on the radio, when they continue to investigate ordinary citizens simply for exercising their freedom of speech, and when Nancy Pelosi decides to cancel future elections because we question THE PARTY, many of us will be decrying The Vast Left Wing takeover of the Constitution. Hillary...you are a sell-out....you should have done a Lieberman at the Convention, and when you didn't, I knew you weren't out for us, just yourself. Shame on you.

"Vast right-wing conspiracy"? Puh-leeze!

http://www.mcclatchydc.com/homepage/story/54631.html

"John McCain is getting more negative media coverage than Barack Obama, according to a study conducted by the Pew Research Center.

"The study, released Wednesday, examined 2,412 campaign stories from 48 news outlets during the six weeks from the end of the conventions through the final presidential debate.

"The results: While the candidates are receiving equal amounts of coverage, 59% of stories about McCain were “decidedly negative in nature,” while only 14% were positive.

"Obama hasn’t exactly been fawned over by media, but the coverage statistically has been more evenhanded, with 36% of stories clearly positive, 35% neutral or mixed, and 29% negative.

As it has been for decades, is now, and always will be, liberal media.

Why add your two cents when someone else said it better? Folks listen, we have to STOP being Dems and GOP and become neighbors. We are on a course of self-destruction. I’m pasting something here that Isaac posted earlier. It’s truly American and rather than trying to shoot each other here, maybe we should all reflect. The guy’s right about one thing and that’s when he says he’s not right about everything, but at least this is a start:

“We do need change but not Hussein’s type of change! That's just empty promises and smoke and mirrors... Total BS!

We need to get back to our AMERICAN principles. You now, the 10 commandments, the pledge of allegiance, a government of the people, by the people, for the people type of stuff!

I can't say what's-her-names endorsement of this idiot lowers my respect of her. I have never had any for either of them.

I would sooner elect my dog to Congress or the Senate. Let's face it. The government does not draw the brightest and the best. Those are in private business scamming millions of dollars in benefit packages. No, our government fills a lot of its ranks with lawyers and other similar scum.

Let's get rid of the homesteaders in politics! Term limits might push out the few unique people that are actually there to serve the people. Why not a progressive re-election? First election, the most votes wins. After that, the margin of win increases by 5% at every election up to a max of 15%. If they are that good then they can get the votes.

Another thing! No more one term and collect a retirement for life. Give the politicians the same retirement percentages as the military. In fact, house them while in active service on military bases.

Because there is no difference between either of the two gangs currently stealing from us, I say we start looking seriously at viable third party's, just to break up the monopoly.

Immigration is good - If it's legal

Taxes are needed - If they are fair. If you don't work and contribute, you don't collect. Let’s go to a consumption based fair tax.

If a person is truly disabled, yes, help them but make it reasonable. Let's have drug tests and time limits for Welfare recipients. Fail a drug test, one shot at rehab. After that, lose the checks, lose the kids, go to jail. Sheriff Joe can probably find something for you to do.

If they are milking the system or cranking out welfare babies faster than the neighbor’s cat has kittens, they are stealing from all of us and they should be prosecuted!

Just my two cents.

Isaac”

Maybe if he gets elected, he can give "Daily Affirmations" to Chris Dodd and Barney Frank every day so they can feel better about how they screwed this country's taxpayers.

You cannot possibly imagine how truly vast the right wing conspiracy is.

"They" implant computer chips into people brains at birth in order to make them grow up and support the right wing agenda.

Every X-Ray machine has been specially controlled by the government so that these chips never show up on any medical images.

There are special satellites in orbit which constantly update the software in the chips, as the right wing agenda is periodically revised.

The ONLY WAYS to protect yourself are to get a lobotomy which disables the chip, or to wear a tinfoil hat.

Since Senator Clinton is obviously immune to the Right Wing agenda, and yet she never wears any hats, I can only conclude that she has chosen the former method of self protection.

The only truly vast conspiracy in this country is that apparently there are more than 2 people who take Al Franken seriously. The man has as much business being in the U.S. Senate as Bill Clinton does being in a girl's locker room in a high school gym class. Al Franken has zero talent, zero relevant experience, and a zero I.Q. Typical Democrat.

Hey, come on! This is just a right-wing conspiracy to prevent the Demos from stealing this election! This is just a repeat of the Florida debacle in which Gaseous Al Gore tried to hijack the 2000 election and then lied and blamed George Bush for doing what Gore himself tried and failed to do. We just want to be absolutely certain of the identity of all voters and that all of them are precisely and exactly legal. The best idea is to make sure that all absentee ballots are cast in a one week window, 60 days before the election, and that all registrations are submitted 60 days before the election and that the election is held for a two-day period [like Friday and Saturday], and that everyone has a voter ID card with picture and leave a thumbprint on their ballot. All that will put the bloody Democrat party out of business. Yay!

I know I am about to drift far off topic cause, I can feel it coming. So here it is. I don't think Iam right on everything but a least I can define the starting point. We do need change but not Hussiens type of change! That's just empty promises and smoke and mirrors..........Total BS!

We need to get back to our AMERICAN principles. You now, the 10 commandments, the pledge of allegience, a government of the people, by the people, for the people type of stuff!

I can't say what's-her-names endorsement of this idoit lowers my respect of her. I have never had any for either of them.

I would sooner elect my dog to Congress or the Senate. Let's face it. The government does not draw the brightest and the best. Those are in private business scamming millions of dollars in benefiet packages. No, our government fills a lot of its ranks with lawyers and other similar scum.

Let's get rid of the homesteaders in politics! Term limits might push out the few unique people that are actually there to serve the people. Why not a progressive re-election? First election, the most votes wins. After that, the margin of win increases by 5% at every election up to a max of 15% If they are that good, they can get the votes.

Let go to a consumption based fair tax.

If a person is truly disabled, yes, help them but make it reasonable. Let's have drug tests and time limits for Welfare recepients. Fail a drug test, one shot at rehab. After that, loose the checks, loose the kids, go to jail. Sheriff Joe can probably find something for you to do.

If they are milking the system or cranking out welfare babies faster than the neighbors cat has kittens. They are stealing from all of us and they should be prosecuted!

Just my two cents.

Isaac

How sad to see a country that fought for freedom give it away. You've been warned that people were going to destroy America. They told you of the danger presented but you wouldn't listen to those who know history.

Wait until folks find out that Barack Obama isn't an African-American but an African-Arab with roots back to the tribes selling slaves. He is 44% ARAB and 50% WHITE but he is 100% a fraud.

As far as conspiracies, how about the Democrats connection with voter fraud via Acorn and the Vast Big Media Conspiracy to elect Obama and anyone Democrat? MSNBC, NBC and CNN are on the top of the list with their outright lies. They are also followed by ABC & CBS as well as Big Left Wing newspaper conspirators who wouldn't tell an honest story if it hit them between the eyes. Give me a break!

I certainly hope Franken wins. He will be right at home in the capital along with all the other comedians already resident there. The laughs I've gotten from Pelosi, Reid, Hillary and the other clowns have brightened many otherwise boring days. As a member of the far right wing conspiracy (I admit it exists) I truly appreciate their humor. And as Franken is an excellent gag man, I'm sure Obama will be calling upon him to punch up his speeches when the majority of you gleeful voters who put him in office will be screaming for his impeachment a few years down the road.

The Vast Right Wing Conspiracy again? How about the Vast Left Wing Conspiracy that blatantly was sexist, and anti Hillary. Politics are what they are and it isn't pretty, combined with a very biased Media the real conspiracy is against the American people. Garbage in Garbage out. If we don't get the facts for ourselves, check voting records, follow the money, if we believe anything we are told by the media or politicians then we get what we deserve. Life is not sound bites. It is not great rhetoric or a pretty face, it is putting food on the table saving for a rainy day, pursuing "our" happiness, living life, it is freedom to succeed or fail, it is about personal responsibility, it is about overcoming adversity. Always Verify and if your candidate wins & you don't like it, don't complain, you got exactly what you asked for. Don't accept any politician at face value, they all have handlers who shape them. Running our nation is not a beauty contest. It is not a speaking contest. It is not a rerun on Mr. Smith goes to Washington. It is our future, our children's future, our grandchildren's future. Find the truth, it is out there.

The fact that these corrupt morons are controlling the fate of 300 million people attests to the fact that there is no Right Wing Conspiracy, because if there were, this circus would never have come to town.

It suggests that the Moonie Times, Roger Ailes, Rush Limbaugh and Matt Drudge don't flog orchestrated Republican Party talking points, to the detriment of the nation.

It suggests that the Swift Boat Veterans and the Arkansas Project were spontaneous expressions of grass-roots concern.

It suggests, in short, profound contempt for our democracy that would be alien to a proud newspaper.

Lefties, don't get carried away with the holier than though business.....From the top: the leading Democrat in the Senate is Teddy Kennedy. For those strong, yet young Obama children he is the guy who let his girl friend (while married to Joan) drown when he drove his car off a bridge many moons ago...he swam ashore and hid out for over 24 hrs till he decided he better report the "accident". Then there is, of course, Hill's sweet Bill who played around with every skirt in Arkansas before moving on up to the White House.
This tit for tat conspiracy crap of Hillary's is old, just like she is getting.. older too, the wrinkles are really showing since the primary. Maybe she needs to get the name of Joe's botox Doc. But Hillary, Franken isn't funny, he's crude. He isn't attractive, he's ugly. The Republicans should remind Minnesotans that Al Franken was the big gun of the liberal Democrat AirAmerica Radio Show that ripped off the Harlem Gloria Wise Boys and Girls Club Charity for $875,000 by diverting this charity money to the AirAmerica Radio Show in order to keep them on the air. This charity served the black children, the elderly, and AID's sufferers of Harlem, New York and because of this liberal Democrat/Al Franken scam is no more. This charity even had to pay back the City of New York the one million dollar contibution that they were getting. I can't believe the voters of Minnesota would elect as their Senator a scam artist who helped screw the children, the elderly, and AID's sufferers of Harlem, New York out of $875,000 of their charity money and forced that charity to go under.

The Ernie and Clyde Show

Ernie: Somebody has to make Al (which Al is this Gore, Tuna, Franken, ) or yeah Franken(stein) feel like he's doing something right (or is that left)? Good ole Hillary telling conspiracy jokes just to keep AL thinking that the world is being taken over by Karl Rove. Al Franken a man born with a silver pint of Wild Turkey in his skull (which is why he always looks drunk). Do you think after Al is elected they will remove the pint of Wild Turkey from his brain?
Clyde: No he can’t write without the silver pint – he’s otherwise brain-dead!
Ernie: I hope he doesn’t drive, he could be a real terror on the freeways.
Clyde: Freeways! Better check with Mothers Against Drunk Drivers to see if he’s already been picked up for driving under the influence of SNL.

Ernie: Al Franken missed his calling he should be a writer for Saturday Night Live.
Clyde: Oh he was!
Ernie: He was? Well maybe he should go back, the shows highest rating didn't happen until Sarah Palin herself appeared last weekend.
Clyde: Sarah Palin made the show a hit huh? What he's going to do now, be elected Senator to the US congress or something?
Ernie: Yeah, imagine two Jewish guys Coleman and Franken running for the same seat in the Senate one a Republican and the other a Socialist Democrat.
Clyde: Wow they really do need a better comedy writer for that show too.
Ernie: What show?
Clyde: The Senate in Washington! Have you seen it lately, The Senate staring Harry the Body Reid what a sad sack he really needs some better writers – he really sucks.!

Ernie: Al Frankenstein, I wonder where Igor is?
Clyde: Oh that’s Obama other name, Igor is going to tell you to Walk This Way, or That Way or is it Some Way – What ever Way he keeps changing his mind any Way.
Ernie: Maybe Al should name his new show in Washington “Young Frankenstein.”
Clyde: That one has already been done in Hollywood. No besides Al is getting on these days, why he must be over sixty at least. Really, you mean he’s “Old Frankenstein.” Well they do have a whole lot of comedians in the Congress.
Ernie: Yeah there’s that Funny joker in Massachusetts named Barney Frank.
Clyde: Hey Hollywood has moved to Washington. That’s where there rest of those media jokers hang out, like Peggy Noonan, David Brooks, and Chris Mathews etc. what a bunch of losers! Did you watch TV.
Ernie: What’s TV? Oh that’s where they show all these jokers. I only watch YouTube.

Hey Techrat:

When you came from the Chicago Daley machine and have the bulk of the media as your pr department, why should any dirt be showing?

If Obama is elected, then and only then will the bulk of you sheeple understand the true meaning of being fleeced.

Others of us have done sufficient research to understand how bad the next four years could be under Obama-Biden-Pelosi-Reid.

Go take a look at the Security Exchange Act of 1934. Look under section 32 paragraph a) and read for yourself a corporate get out of jail free card. Then , once you understand the cold hard fact of a fleecing of 74 years, ask yourself why the Democrats had never attempted to fix this?

Then ask yourself, if the Democrats get solidly in control of Congress and the Whitehouse, who will the press then denigrate, because you know full well they have to stir the pot for ratings?

Next year, when the shoe is on the other foot, do not come crying to us because the grass turned out to be weeds and the picture the media has been showing you is simply another version of the Twilight Zone!

And then, when your mighty heroes of the Democrats start falling in ruin, one by one, know that what goes around truly does come around.

Politics smiles on no one for very long.

EINNOC10 sounds like a very smart lady... and she's quite right that, had the Democrats nominated Mrs Clinton, it would have worked against them. Even though Mrs Clinton had and has many admirers, there is also a substantial group of people who really despise her (fairly or not) and who would have been "lit up" by her nomination to work harder for her opposition.

Depriving the opposition of the cheap shots they are taking at Obama (ie, Ayers, ACORN, etc) would have brought no advantage, because there were even MORE cheap shots to be had at Mrs Clinton's expense (including a lot of White Water and impeachment rubbish we are all sick to death of already).

I was never a Clinton fan, but am I also not one of these "foaming-at-the-mouth" rabid Clinton critics. After 8 years of George Bush, there is virtually no chance that I (though a registered Republican) would have voted for McCain, much less Palin, in this election.

Still, I am much happier voting, without reservation, for Senator Obama, than I would have been debating whether or not to vote at all.

I was watching video from the rally when Palin was speaking and you can clearly hear on the tape that someone yelled out "kill him" when she was talking about Obama. She paused, but did not say anything to discourage that type of speech. Whether other people were willing to speak up as to what they heard is on them. There is no question it was said, even if they can not get enough cooperation to proceed with an investigation. Lack of cooperation is not the same as it not happening.

Hillary has always received rough treatment from the press and the republicans, it was no different while she was running for president. I supported her in the primaries, but in no way will I support Palin just because she is female too. She does not stand for anything Hillary did, and her getting into office would in no way be a victory for women. She would set women back decades. I was looking at both party nominees after it became apparent my first choice would not be the nominee. I read about both, but what sealed the deal for me was the selection of Palin by McCain. As someone who was there when Palin started her political career, I would not support any ticket she is on. Period. I don't care that they say we don't vote on the VP. McCain’s judgment is in question with the selection of Palin to be his running mate. I don't think he has the judgment to be president. I wouldn't vote for her to be mayor, let alone governor or VP. She has demonstrated already in Alaska that she talks the talk but doesn't walk the walk. She is trying to keep from having the proper public record for state business by not using the secure state email system and now wants to charge 5 million per email account for legitimate requests for information. The AP would have to pay 45 million to get the copies they requested. What kind of transparency or reform is that? She has appointed people to positions that do not have the knowledge for the job, including her high school friend to be director of agriculture for Alaska whose qualification seems to be that she liked cows as a kid. Her attorney general came from a one person office in Wasilla where he evidently didn't practice the kind of law that faces most attorney generals but had no experience in even supervising people, and he got a job with 500 attorneys and staff under him and no clue how to run it. Evidently resume is another of those fancy words not used in her administration. Fortunately, Barack Obama became even more favorable in my eyes as I learned more about him. I also like Joe Biden, as I find him to be very knowledgeable and a better friend to women than Sarah Palin. His selection gives Obama a better ticket and shows better judgment than McCain in his. I voted already and have no qualms in saying I supported Obama/Biden.

This primary season Hillary found out that there was also a vast left wing conspiracy eminating from non other than her (and my former) Democratic Party. To me this indicates that most of the bums need thrown out. Wonder how Obama is going to clean the left side of Congress up. He owes favors to most everybody. Must admit it would be sweet to see him throw the likes of Pelosi, Reid, Kerry and Casey under his bus.

This comment is in response to the one posted by someone calling themselves "coop" with a number. Two incorrect statements in "coop's" remarks: #1) "coop" says that Joe Biden's remarks are not being reported by the mainstream media. Maybe "coop" is not just as big a night-owl as I am! I not only heard it re-run in its entirety on CNN last night, I also had to listen to Larry King's program rehash it for most of the hour. "Being reported"? It's being beaten to death, since it represents hypothetical scenarios not spelled out in detail, and is likely to approximate the truth of what will happen after the election, no matter who wins. And our leaders are not supposed to give careful, sober thought to the future and what it holds? Hopefully, that attitude will go out with the Bushes, who made not thinking ahead well enough into policy and got us where we are today.
Remark #2) "Hillary would be ahead now by 20 points" (referencing electability). I am and was Hillary's demographic: a "mature," white woman of a certain age with liberal/independent/centrist leanings. I found Hillary really grating. When I covered the convention at the Pepsi Center, I gave my Press Pass to another reporter the night Hillary spoke. I just couldn't take more of Hillary. Neither could the nation: all the old dirt would have provided the Republicans with a lot more than just a tenuous Ayers/ACORN story to beat to a pulp. The jungle drums would be using Bill's impeachment, Whitewater, the flap about the White House travel agency, and everything else in-between, going back to her days as Arkansas' first lady and up to the present. There will be a place for Hillary Clinton in the Obama Administration, and that is good, as she is undeniably smart and politically savvy. But Hillary for Prez? Please. There's not enough aspirin in the world to get rid of the perpetual headache that Hillary-as-Prez would have provided. And that means, before, during and after any misguided election. Best to let Hillary serve in some other capacity. I can see her as Secretary of State, Supreme Court Justice or just plain Senator Clinton. Her legacy may well surpass Bill's, when all is said and done, as she is still "in the fray" while he has been more-or-less sidelined and become a cranky old man figure in politics, which is sad for those of us who remember him at the top of his game...which now seems to be over. But not Hillary's. Just not "Hillary-as-Prez."

Anyone who thinks Clinton will be forgotten once the election ends just doesn't know politics. She will either: be appointed to the first Supreme Court opening; become Senate Majority Leader. She did exact a promise for something. Mark my words.

The presidential election campaign has been the most revealing political campaign in American history. Senator Hillary Clinton was defeated by rank misogyny. Sarah Palin is in receipt of much the same since her entry into the campaign. This is especially reprehensible that the big wigs of both genders in American politics and media, remain silent on the issue.

Both Hillary Clinton and Sarah Palin are members of an important majority group [women] whose talents, interests and perspectives are grossly under-represented in most parliaments of the world. That under-representation is both unjust and inefficient.

One does not have to agree with the policies of either to see that the election of either Palin or Clinton to high office in the most powerful and influential country in the world would be victory for women.

John Stuart Mill put it very well when he said that electing a corrupt, lazy and incompetent woman to parliament would be no great calamity since we have been electing corrupt, lazy and incompetent men in their hundreds for years and nobody has batted an eyelid.

Women may be different from men but in a democracy they are equal and deserve adequate representation.

The silence on this issue is indefensible.

Coop;

Obama *is* relatively clean. Let's look at some other politicians, eh? He hasn't gone after male pages to have sex with them. He hasn't had $250,000 worth of renovations on his house as a "gift", he hasn't divorced his first wife to marry a trophy beer-heiress, he didn't money-launder, and he hasn't been caught in an airport bathroom giving hand-job signals to undercover cops.

By that metric, he's pretty darn clean for a politician, who are by definition, "dirty".

Regarding your other charges, inexperienced is possible, but unqualified is debatable. Frankly, I've had my fill of "experienced" politicians. Perhaps experienced is a synomym for "corrupt". Obama is well-qualified by his grasp of the big concepts and the fact that 'he gets it' regarding the kind of change we need in the country.

I seriously doubt Hilary would be 20 points ahead. Had Hilary come out as the nominee, McCain would have not picked Palin, but perhaps would have gotten Romney or some other stronger candidate (Chuck Hagel comes to mind), that would have made him a good choice. I liked McCain (I also liked Huckabee), and would have voted for him had he not abandoned his morals just to try and win this election.

He has become everything he hates about politicians, and I think that shows in his anger and erratic changes. He's not happy with what he's become. What ever happend to the Straight Talk Express?

I suspect he will retire after Nov 4th, assuming he doesn't expire while on the campaign trail. And I certainly don't want Palin as President -- talk about inexperience and unqualified!

Yikes!

The Clinton-Obama difference is a non-issue. They ran against each other and tried to discredit each other in order to win the nomination.
Over and done with.
Hillary is behind Obama 100 percent, don't let some foolish conservative tell you otherwise. The GOP has nothing left but divisivness, lies, disinformation and hatred.
McCain/Palin are a fools ticket. They want only to further the GOP agenda. Because they are bootlickers, they will do and say anything to persuade gullible Americans into helping them further the conservative cause. They hide behind the flag, peddle fear, spread lies and talk rhetoric.
They are neo-facists in the sense they want a pure society. Self absorbed, they cannot empathize with the everyday American, because that would cause them to take a good look at themselves.
Vote Democrat..Take back America.

techrat-

I think that you are right in so far as there would have been broader attempts to demonize HRC. Demonizing a women with stereotypes such as the Lady McBeth one they put on her (coniving/unfeeling/relentless) is commonplace and accepted- all of the campaigns have had a hard time attacking Barak due to fear of reprecussions regarding racism- despite the fact that he has nearly no experience (again- I am a volunteer for him and a coordinator of events) and that his actions have not matched his rhetoric at all. Association with Ayers is just a joke- who cares? His long term relationship/mentoring with Wright, which is credited in his books as inspirational and lifechangeing is somewhat different. Wright is a very similar leader to Farrakhan- a person with good ideas abou community building and economics that are under a lot of anger and hatred- can you imagine if HRC had a feminist of this type as her pastor? There is an inherent sexism here and to even bring it up is called ridiculous- in the meanwhile- advocates of Obama played the race card big time on the Clintons- who are now percieved as racists despite all evidence to the contrary.

"Liberals" who backed Obama did not look much at policy- he did not provide extensive policy in the primaries, and when he did it was less ambitious than HRC and less progressive than Edwards. Perhaps they were voting on his ability to win- but they don't have a history of doing such (see H. Dean, B. Bradley, G. McGovern, etc.)

History says that inexperienced rhetorical leaders tend to either be ineffective (Carter, Kennedy) or horrible demogogues (W)- let's hope history is wrong. There are rare Lincolns in the bunch. Obama has potential to differ. I am praying he does.

Obama is relatively clean? Inexperienced, unqualified but not clean. Biden incredible claim that the bad folks in the world will test the One 6 months into his first term was one of the strangest things ever said by "he who says strange things." Funny how the media is not reporting it...the Obama media anyway. Hillary unelectable? Are you kidding? She would be 20 points ahead by now! With her you know what you are getting. With Obama we have no idea. He has never had to make a single decision in his life that might hurt some and help others. He has never held a real job, never had to sacrifice a single thing to get anywhere. He has never, ever been tested.

And you clowns want him to be president, as if talking well and being cool and hip is good enough. Biden may be right.

1950s
I am a leftist- have always been and will always be. I could never "punish" those responsible for HRC being pushed out of the race- she basically tied Barak- but was told for months that she was "hanging on" by his advocates- by forcing more right wing rule on the country. So No way, No How, No McCain.

I do agree with you however that Palin is being mistreated. The concentration when Schwartzenager won the governorship in CA was not on his days as a body builder or on his complete lack of knowledge on anything relevent, yet the people on my side have relentlessly made comments about Palin that focus on superficial qualities and reducing her qualifications. There is a good reason not to vote for her. SHE IS WRONG ON 100% of POLICY. She is wrong on the environment, on taxes, on education, the economy, foriegn policy, trade, energy- you name it and she has the wrong policy for it. She wants creationism taught equally in the schools with evolution. She is anti choice even in the case of rape and incest. She is not stupid and her governorship wields far more power than W's did- in Texas the governor is just a figurehead...she is just wrong.

nycLeon;

Yes, Hilary is a great politician, but she was clearly unelectable. GOP mouthpieces such as Rush Limbaugh and Bill O'Rielly had already invested 4 years demonizing her.

If you think this race has gotten nasty, just imagine what the GOP would have done to Hilary -- they have the 8 years of the previous Clinton administration to build on - we would have had Ken Starr and Whitewater all over again making the real issues as clear as mud.

Obama has the advantage of being relatively clean -- think about it -- all this time and the best they could come up with was Wright and Ayers? Where were the swift boats this time? Nowhere, because Obama's about as clean as a politician can be.

Obama drew the large crowds and garnered an amazing amount of contributions -- mostly small amounts from many, many contributors. The numbers spoke, and it doesn't take an economics major to see that Obama had a high electibility factor.

And to be fair to your point, I think there was a study that showed that America was more "ready" for a black president than a female one.

Unfortunately, it may take a few more years before we're over that. Start with equal pay for equal work, and then we'll see about breaking that glass ceiling.

leon, I'm seeing the same kind of sexist abuse directed toward Palin as toward Hillary. And I haven't noticed it against other women politicians (except perhaps Ferraro).

It can't be ideology, since Hillary and Palin are from almost opposite factions. Maybe it is attitude -- their cheerful, can do, zest for competition. Palin attributes hers to athletic competition. Hillary was raised by her father to play hardball with the neighborhood boys, and talked about the attitude she got from that.

Whatever the hate comes from, I think electing Palin will be a good blow against it, or at least against the lighter sort of sexist behavior that drove many of HIllary's PUMAs toward the GOP, even before Palin was chosen.

I know that there are those of you out there- "conservatives" and "liberals" and I do mean the liberals with the quotes- who hate on Hillary- but she is a brilliant woman and a great senator. She warned of the housing crisis in Sept. '07 and had a plan for it well before Obama even aknowledged it- a plan which he dismissed in the primaries but has now adopted. Don't get me wrong- I am volunteering and oranizing for Barak now- and he will be our next president- but there are moments, like when reading this article- that there is some regret, some "what if?". People can't honestly answer why they hate her so much, but I would definately suggest inherent mysogyny on both sides of the political spectrum. There are only 17 female leaders of countries on earth right now and females make up 52% of the population. For all those who say- "she is just the wrong women..."- tell me who is the right women.
Carol Mosley Braun ran for president, having been a senator for in Barak's seat for as many years as he had. She was a good speaker and much more of a populist than he is. She was well educated, as Barak is and she was fully African American, not a person who did not meet their 1 African parent until 10 years old. She was not taken seriously.

We have a lot of work to do as a nation on our opinions about women. Hopefully by the time my daughter is an adult we will have moved forward a bit. McCain's policies are antiwomen and he should not be voted for- but perhaps the one game changing thing he did was to nominate Palin- who, although unqualified for the job- likely guarantees that from now on (except for the reelection campaign)- every ticket will have atleast one woman on it.

I hope by now everyone has heard that the secret service investigated the GOP Florida rally, and found only one person claiming there had been a 'cry' of 'Kill him.' The one person was the local reporter who wrote the story. A number of secret service agents were present throughout the crowd, and they questioned many others and asked for any witnesses to come forth -- no one supported the story.

I trust the debunking has got as much coverage as the original story...? Yes...?

http://www.timesleader.com/news/breakingnews/Secret_Service_says_Kill_him_allegation_unfounded_.html
Agent Bill Slavoski said he was in the audience, along with an undisclosed number of additional secret service agents and other law enforcement officers and not one heard the comment.
....
He said the agency conducted an investigation Wednesday, after seeing the story, and could not find one person to corroborate the allegation other than Singleton.

Comment: Here's an example of "democratic" financial responsibility:

WHO screwed up Social Security??

When Social Security began the "democrats" SAID:

Participation would be VOLUNTARY.

The contributions would be TAX-DEDUCTIBLE.

The funds wouldn't be used for anything ELSE, and

interest would ADD to the account.

The payouts would NEVER BE TAXED.

LBJ & demo majorities in the House and Senate put the

funds in the General Fund so they could use it for

their pet projects (PORK), no interest adds to the

fund now!

CARTER & demo majorities in the House and Senate

gave Social Security to immigrants who had never

PAID IN!

CLINTON & demo majorities in the House and Senate

made the CONTRIBUTIONS taxable, AND made the

PAYOUTS taxable! (Al Gore cast the deciding vote on

the payouts!)

OBAMA wants to GIVE Social Security to the 11 million

ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS that are here, ALONG WITH

Medicare! (Think more or them will come then to get

in on THAT?) AND, with demo majorities in the House

and Senate, he'll SUCCEED!

AND, after all THAT, the "democrats" have the GALL to

blame Republicans for the mess Social Security is in!

Hasn't it occurred to any of you that the comments rumored to have been heard at Palin rallies might be: (1) made up by the person who said they heard them, or (2) made by an Obama supporter on behalf of the democrats or the press? Think Howard Dean wouldn't have loved to have pulled that off? Have you heard anyone from the media question any of the reports, or suggest it might be a put-up job by the "democrats"? Don't hold your breath waiting for that to occur, they're in the tank for Obrutha!

LISTEN TO HILLARY. SHE'S TRYING TO WARN US.

Voting machine irregularities. Voter suppression attempts. Talk of "un-Amerian" Democrats. Cries of "terrorist!" and "kill him" at McCain-Palin rallies. Racially-tinged code words delivered by major candidates who know exactly what they are doing.

During her own campaign, Hillary made an oblique reference to the famous "vast right-wing conspiracy," saying something to the effect that we may not even yet know the damage that has been done.

So yes, mainstream media, that's what she said. Now do some reporting. You can start here:
