McCain Avoids Wright and Praises Palin on Call with Jewish Leaders

By Michael Abramowitz
WESTERVILLE, Ohio -- John McCain ducked a direct invitation this morning to criticize Barack Obama over Obama's relationship with his one-time pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright Jr.

"The issue of Pastor Wright has been pretty well known" by Americans, McCain told Jewish Americans on a telephone conference call this morning, when asked by Rabbi Shlomo Riskin why he won't "hammer" Obama hard for this association. Riskin, from Brooklyn, is a leading rabbi in Efrat, an Israeli West Bank settlement, where he resides.

McCain told the listeners that his campaign is more interested in highlighting Obama's relationship with one-time Chicago radical William Ayers, saying the issue is whether the Illinois Democrat has given a "complete account" of his relationship with someone McCain described as an unrepentant terrorist.

The comment reflected McCain's general uneasiness about trying to go after Obama and Wright, despite a desire by many in his campaign that he make more of an issue of Wright's incendiary statements, which were a source of controversy during the Democratic primary.

On Fox News Sunday, McCain also vigorously defended the robocalls his campaign has been making about Ayers and said they were quite different from calls attacking him during the 2000 GOP primary in South Carolina. Some Republicans, like Maine Sen. Susan Collins, have called for the campaign to stop the calls, but McCain told host Chris Wallace he would not do so.

"These are legitimate and truthful, and they are far different than the phone calls that were made about my family" in 2000, McCain said.

During the call with Jewish leaders, McCain and his friend, Sen. Joseph I. Lieberman (I-Conn.), also tried to reassure Jewish voters about running mate Sarah Palin, whose association with the Wasilla Bible Church has worried some Jews. Lieberman said Palin holds some views on social issues that he does not agree with -- but that she is "respectful" of different views. He hailed her "deep love for the state of Israel."

McCain cited Palin's background as a mayor and a governor in Alaska when asked directly whether she is qualified to be president. "How in the world would someone think she is not qualified, when she has this wealth of experience and background at a relatively early age?" McCain asked.

This item has been corrected. Riskin's residence was originally described as "Efrat, Israel"; the town is an Israeli settlement in the West Bank south of Jerusalem.

Obama Takes A HATCHET To Small Business

If you work for a small business, its profits -should Obama be elected- will be taxed at near 60% once it breaks Obama’s magic 250K, Because-

FOR THE FIRST TIME IN HISTORY OBAMA WANTS TO REMOVE THE SOCIAL SECURITY PAYROLL CAP CREATING A 15.65% ADDITIONAL TAX ABOVE THE 3% ADDED INCOME TAX at this level, since LLC’s and Subchapter S small business profits pass through to the owner’s personal 1040!

If you’re the owner, you’re going to be tempted to do more with less and lay someone off-

If you’re an employee- you may, because of this new penalty on progress, be laid off.

John McCain wants to reduce business taxes and grow the economy, rather than squeeze the last drop of juice out of every successful business, large, medium, and small!
Exxon made billions, but why use a HATCHET to treat small and medium sized businesses the SAME WAY Sen.Obama?

Someone Please point out how Marx's comment is different from what Obama said to Joe the Plumber in OHIO???????????????

GatorRon- Are YOU quoting Phil Graham with that brilliant "Whiner" remark? It's a LOT more than 25K, but even it were- that's one salaried position in some businesses....multiplied by millions of small businesses and many more positions per large business.

Hey ReptileGuy, can you say 12% unemployment? (I knew you could).

What I find extraordinary is not a single person who has responded to this blogged article has noticed that Rabbi Riskin, from Brooklyn,is identified as living in Efrat, Israel. It should be quite clear, even to the politically illiterate Abramowitz that despite the wishes of Rabbi Riskin and many of his co-religionists, Efrat is NOT in Israel but in the Occupied Palestinian West Bank where it is home to a pack of mindless, racist religious fanatics, most of whom were born in the USA. That Riskin was included in a conference call to Jewish leaders is equally extraordinary and but another example of US politicians kow-towing to Israel and its supporters.

As a Canadian, this is first time in a long time I have seen USA finally come of age. The lines of racial divide have been blurred by the enlightened and emancipated youth vote. The war cries have given way to peace rallies. The front running candidate Barack Obama has captured the imagination of the majority and has sparked a hope that this powerful nation and our ally to the south is once again ready to stand for the principles of true peace and freedom around the world. That USA will allow diplomacy not war to resolve disagreements. That it will be willing to convert foes into friends by persuading and not by threatening. I hope the American voters would not let this opportunity slip away by sending a wrong person to the White House.

The fear, smear and name calling that Karl Rove used in the past is not working today.

Senator Mc Cain won the Primary by appearing the most conservative and it appears that he spent more time thinking about running than how to Govern. The Republican record of the past 8 years has been dismal, from the war, the economy, energy policies and ethics.

Obama ran a flawless primary and now presidential campaign. Placing solutions on the table gives those who dislike him because he is a Democrat and black, something to chew on. Senator Mc Cain has placed nothing of substance on the table and Sarah Palin when she has spoke is focused on "that guy" rather than the problems we have or why the Republican approach is better.

I understand the grasping at straws and making a connection with Ayers or Wright, that is how negative campaigns are run especially when you have a record that you have to distance yourself from.

The Clinton Administration balanced the budget, we were financially and technically strong and not engaged in a war, where our kids were dying. At that, there are those who still blame Clinton for 911 and his failure to kill Bin Laden. I will remind those who are sharp of words, that we have had over 300,000 troops in Iraq for years and not been able to kill Bin Laden.

When you fail to get things done, or have screwed things up the approach of shifting the blame on others is a failure to accept responsibility for your own failures.

OK Obama is black and a democrat and perhaps a liberal. All I know is the approach of the past 7 years of a Conservative President, House and Senate was a failure on almost all accounts.

For those who take glee or satisfaction of calling Obama names look at what this Administration has done and the kind of campaign Senator McCain and the prop Palin has been running and honest say you are proud of that. If yes, then no facts will change what ever bias or prejudice you are influenced by.

Young Liberal weenies who though Maobama was a good idea are now crying in their Cheerios thinking about the good old days when MAYBE Dad and Mom had enough money to lend them the downpayment on a house...but...oops...nobody is doing to way under the Maobama tax and spend wealth re-distribution plan.

If antisemitism has a home in either political party, and as a rule I don't think it does except among fringe yoyos at either extreme, it is certainly most obvious to me in the extreme leftist and peacenik Democrat wings surrounding Cindy Shehan and the marxist residue among black power theology.

It is easy to point fingers at the very few "white power, neo-nazi" types running about. But these people are so visibly stupid and inept as to be institutionally and politically harmless. Some combination of ignoring or laughing at them is sufficient rejoinder.

But the left casts the "fascist" label broadly to tar all that disagree with them, finding it expedient to concurrently imply bias against Jews. You may note this tendancy in some of the posts above from Obama supporters.

As a rule, those that attempt to apply the "fascist" label share more common ground with true fascism than those they think they are condemning, much as Stalinist Russia and Nazi Germany were indistinguisable when it comes to totalitarian and subhuman brutality. Communism's death toll is some 100,000,000 mostly innocents, of which several million were Jews. Hitler tallys 6,000,000 Jews and perhaps as many others. Perhaps in these statistics is evidence Communists were less antisemitic, but any distinction is pretty academic to those slaughtered.

My point? It is insulting to assume mainstream Republicans or Democrats of today are as institutions any way antisemitic or selective or tolerant of antisemitic candidates. But in voting, Jews that think in any way Isreal is important might examine what Jesse Jackson has to say about how Obama will tilt foreign policy away from support of Israel. And you might revisit Joe Lieberman's support of John McCain. The left finds it convenient to forget that Joe is a Democrat's Democrat and supports John McCain none-the-less.

Why do think I use the term "conservadrone" and I ask people support stem-cell research? Becuase it's the only hope for conservadrones to grow a brain and start thinking for themselves"

People who listen to right-wing media simply regurgitate everything they hear. No critical thinking is required

At least most dems are able to come to their own conclusions.

Case in point. Palin is not qualified. Many conservative even say so. Yet conservadrones reguritate the same spew that the campaign puts out and convince themselves they are right. She comes out of nowhere and no one knows anything about her, she gives crap interviews, she has no vision yet SHE is treated like the Messiah and people can "identify" with her.

The only way people can identify with her is cause they know very little just like she knows very little.

18 Million people voted for Obama, not because of his experience but because of his vision for America. The only vision I know of from Palin is her view of Russia from her backyard.

Palin has some nerve courting Jewish voters! Her church is anti-semitic and hosts members of "Jews For Jesus" who criticize and condemn Jews who won't convert.

And, yes, she's one of those extreme right-wing evangelical Republicans (a la Pastor Hagee) who pretends to "befriend" Jews and help them get back to Israel, all the while instigating trouble with Iran to help bring about Armageddon - so she can instantly fly up to Heaven - while all the Jews and Catholics are left behind to suffer God's wrath.

She has stated that she believes Jesus will return to Earth DURING HER LIFETIME, and she and McCain are already beginning the drumbeat to war with Iran in order to make that happen. As John McCain sings: "Bomb Bomb Iran."

Any Jew who votes for McCain/Palin is FOOL!!!

As Colin Powell said today in his glowing endorsement, Obama is a transformative candidate. This election isn't about race, religion, or party. Obama has somehow managed to make it mostly about the issues, despite the never-ending smears and constant negative attacks from his opponent.

Obama's campaign had been brilliant, strategic, and above-the fray. No comparison in recent history! Period. McCain has been erratic, dishonest, and dishonorable!

Finally, DEMOCRACY and HOPE are making a comeback! Bush's name may not be on the ballot, but his policies sure are. People finally "get it," and they want a change!

This is a great American success story! An American President funded by REAL AMERICANS - no crooked PACS/lobbyists - FINALLY!!! Is it that because she's a woman?
Hillary never had any problems. Can you picture her responding the way Palin did with Gibson and Couric?
Unlike Biden, Hillary would have had license to utterly destroy her in this debate.
Like Bush, Palin is almost proud of her ignorance of facts and figures. She relies on folksy charm and generalities to the extent you feel you are watching a beauty contest.
Because of her staggering ignorance of foreign policy, constitutional law, supreme court rullings and the economy, Palin will never pass the presidential sniff test, unless you want George Bush with lipstick.

Palin's husband was a member of a society which advocated Alaska's secession from the United States of America. Does that mean she was aiding and abetting this group?

Essentially, Palin is RIGHT NOW the CEO of a business with 24,000 employees, the Alaska government.

That's a business the size of a fortune 500 company, which is a little bit more responsibility to run than a "community".

Not only that, she has demonstrated remarkable instincts, especially when it comes to influencing others - even Bill Clinton acknowledges this, warning others not to "underestimate her".

Right now, Palin is equal in "stardom" to Obama, and has more executive experience. Don't forget that most of what you see of Obama, is a manufactured "brand", like Pepsi, or Marlboro or something.

BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA IS JUST ANOTHER POLITICIAN THAT WILL DO OR SAY WHATEVER IT TAKES TO FULFILL HIS POLITICAL AMBITIONS. Barack is calculated and methodical about hiding his true convictions and intentions, and uses deception to get elected.

The time is now!
For Americans to remember Barack Hussein Obama’s intimate 20 year relationship with the Priest of Hate, Jeremiah Wright, who blessed Barack and Michelle marriage and baptized both their daughters. AND, to remember the hideous videos of Jeremiah Wright’s congregation which included the Obamas, damning America with bombastic joy, after the Muslim’s criminal attack on America on 9/11.

The time is now!
For Americans to remember how Barack's Priest of Hate, Jeremiah Wright used his tax-exempt church to exercise a radical political agenda, and how he refers to Israel, as well as America, as a "racist" State. Barack's religious leader, Jeremiah Wright believes that the true 'Chosen People' are the blacks; and that black values are superior to middle-class American values.
Indeed Barack's Priest of Hate, Jeremiah Wright is a black supremacist.

The time is now!
To remind Americans that Barack Hussein Obama wants to be president to implement Jeremiah Wright’s dream of a black supremacist society in America.

The time is now!
For Americans of all political parties to come together to preserve the future of the country we love and have always been proud of, by voting for a True American Patriot and War Hero who risked his life for our country:

McCain is showing ominous signs of how power has corrupted his mind.
Over the past few weeks Sarah Palin has incited crowds to dangerous levels of hatred usually seen at K.K.K. meetings.
She openly attacked the press as if it was somehow Un-American in questioning her.
After one rally in Clearwater a black reporter was harassed by the crowd.
McCain elicited one response of "Terrorist"
during a town hall meeting.
The Palin crowd said "kill him" referring to Obama.
These actions cannot go unnoticed by Jewish voters who have suffered the most at the hands of Fascists.
This same ugly strategy has been employed by every dictator in modern times. Fear, Intimidation of the press and False Patriotism were Mussolini’s tools. Hitler used these and race hatred as well.
We can't be timid in condemning McCain for these actions or civil liberty will go the same way as the economy.

At first, she appeared to be on the side of "family" America. She was so hidden from the public that it became impossible to get an idea who she was. The worst thing she did was to sustain her aggressive hate and fear tactics. The devil in her was exposed, and by that, turned off many Americans. She's definately NOT a Hillary, she shows the desparate and ugly side of politics.

From The American Thinker:

Marxist Antisemitism

The black-power preachers, whether Christian or Muslim, have all been influenced by James Cone's re-write of the Bible around Marxist political philosophy, so it really should come as no surprise when one of them brazenly hurls antisemitism into the public fray.

Marx pulled no verbal punches when it came to his desire to create a society "emancipated" from Judaism:

Once society has succeeded in abolishing the empirical essence of Judaism - huckstering and its preconditions - the Jew will have become impossible, because his consciousness no longer has an object, because the subjective basis of Judaism, practical need, has been humanized, and because the conflict between man's individual-sensuous existence and his species-existence has been abolished.

Karl Marx; "The Jewish Question"; 1844

What should surprise -- and frighten -- every American, however, is when antisemitism does rear its beastly head, and others sit by and do nothing.

The question that personally haunts me now, perhaps more than any other I have about Barack Obama, is whether he has imbibed antisemitism as part of his 20-year training under the tutorial of Jeremiah Wright, using Cone's books for his entire foundation of faith.

Could it possibly be Cone's influence that has shaped Barack Obama's views on Israel, the Jews and the Palestinians?

I shudder at the implications of this possibility, as I believe should every American of conscience.

Jewish people should NOT fear Sarah Palin's Christianity.
The SHOULD fear Obama-Nation's alliance with Muslin nations that would obliterate Israel without thinking twice.
It's out there in black and white that he would sit down without preconditions with madmen.
If you believe the Rev. Jesse Jackson- Barry is anti-Zionist.
This to me is much more dangerous than the election of Palin as vice-president.
Wake up people.
Obama will be the ruination of this country.
His associations, beliefs, mentors- even his own WIFE are anti-American.
My God people, what is wrong with you?
He will bring America to it's knees and deliver our freedom to terrorists on a silver platter.

John McCain lost the jewish vote the day he selected Sarah Palin

That is a fact --

You can quote me - an over 50 jewish woman from Ft Lauderdale - there was a seismic shift in support

There is NOTHING John McCain can do now to make up for that very very bad decision

What John McCain won't tell you about Sarah Palin.....

Her involvement with a political party that wants to secede from America, the Alaskan Indepence Party.

This is not a piece of her history. She weclomed the convention delegates via video THIS YEAR. I have that video posted now. It's short and sweet. Share it with others.

Read about what the AIP stands for, her husband's long-standing membership in it, and then watch the video.

I have it all at:

McCain has disgraced Christianity and the Unity of America. This country was never about hate and division. This is the "United" States of America.. ...............

I agree that we all know everything on Rev. Wright. We still need to know what Barack HUSSEIN Obama is hiding about Ayers and ACORN.

Colin Powell's Endorsement for O'Bomba-Nation due entirely to John McCain's lousy choice of Heir, and lack of Economic sense, should be God's way of telling the Fool-HE HAS LOST!

So be it.

IT does NOT mean that "Barry" should be allowed to WIN!

McCain should abdicate his Lead role to the Business and Economics wise Mitt Romney, and become Mitt's VP.

It really is the Role best suited for both of them!

ANYONE not suffering from EGOMANIA, would REALIZE AS MUCH!
