McCain in Pa.: 'Joe's the Man'

By Michael D. Shear
DOWNINGTON, Pa. -- Sen. John McCain took his debate performance on the road today, talking about "Joe" at a rally here in suburban Philadelphia and repeating some of his best lines from the face-off with Sen. Barack Obama last night.

"As I said in the debate, if he wanted to run against President Bush, he should have run four years ago," McCain told the crowd of about 1,000.

He brought up former president Herbert Hoover, just as he had during the debate. And he railed against Obama for wanting to raise taxes, a mistake that he said would plunge the country from recession to depression.

But by far the biggest applause lines were for "Joe."

"I thought I did pretty well," McCain said. "The real winner last night was Joe the plumber. Joe's the man. He won and small businesses won across America ... the American people are not going to let Senator Obama raise their taxes."

There were no character attacks on Obama. And at times, the rally seemed like a flashback to the time when McCain was actively promoting himself as a bipartisan candidate.

Sen. Joe Lieberman took to the stage for McCain, saying he is ready "to fight for each and every one of you, the American people, to get us out of the economic hole we're in."

"I am, as you may know, a Democrat reelected as an independent, here to support the Republican nominee," Lieberman said. It was one his few appearances on the stump for McCain since speaking at the Republican National Convention in early September.

"And the reason is simple -- country matters more than party," Lieberman said.

Joe is not a licensed plumber, makes about 40,000 a year, owes back taxes, and is a registered republican. Also, the company he works for and is thinking of "buying" makes 100,000 a year. He has a right to his opinion, but the information he gave is not correct.

Is McCain's "Joe the Plumber" the same guy as Palin's "Joe SixPack"?
I just don't get it...

Even Joe the Plumber Can't Save McCain From 'the John.'

Senator Barack Obama delivered a preternaturally calm perform while explaining why he ought to be the next president of the United States. Senator McCain tried to change the inevitable, but all night it looked as though he was boxing at shadows. In short, the night's overall picture was of that an outsized fighter bobbing and weaving around the taller heavyweight champ.

Joe-Blow.

That's McCain.

McCain came across as a sarcastic angry old man during the debate. He had this whole idea about invoking Joe the plumber as a 'gotcha' moment. But at the end it has turned into some foder for the late night talk shows. Joe the plumber is not even a real plumber. Real plumbers usually have a license to do their job. He says he was a plumber for 15 years. Any plumber with a 15 year experience and who is planning to buy a business with income around $250,000 will definitely have a license. On top of that Joe has not been paying any taxes at all since the taxman is after him.

Joe the Plummer is the man!

Obama wants to take a big chunk of money from people like Joe the Plummer that he would use to perhaps create more jobs, or raises wages or give out bonuses or create new products or services that would in turn create more jobs, raises, bonuses.

Obama wants to take that chunk of money and break it up into teeny weeny, itsy bitsy little bits so there is more people to hand it out to.

If Canada can remain conservative so can America.

No to Obama and his socialist, Marxist tax plans & spending. And no to his racist preacher, terrorist political education guru William Ayers or his slum lord Tony Rezko or his voter fraud organization ACORN or his illegal and undocumented campaign finances.

Obama is a corrupt politican and should not be POTUS.

BTW, don't believe those phony instant polls on websites. If Obama's group ACORN can commit wide spread voter fraud they can certainly swamp websites to skew perception and create a false reality.

Elect McCain/Palin!

Does John McCain ever do his homework?

Or does he always just step right in to the first pile he comes across?

People should watch the full exchange between Joe and Barak...

Joe asks a tough question, Barak gives a good answer. It's great! It's what I want to see in political campaigns.

McCain you are a joke, Fact Check: ‘Joe the plumber’ is not even a licensed plumber you dope! he isn’t even ready to start his own business according to him and if he did he wouldn’t be making or borrowing $250,000.00 and miss on Obama’s tax cuts for every American making under $250,000.00! It is strange that McCain keeps touting this guy and I'm not sure he wants to keep referencing him, considering he's got problems with his actual job status, income, local taxes, political affiliation, voter reg. status etc. etc. Is there anything we were told about Joe last night that the media can actually confirm? Does he possess WMD? Was he responsible for the Community Reinvestment Act of 1977? Does he pal around with Bill Ayers? Did he work for AIG? Is he an "Arab"? Is his name really "Joe"? (Just asking)

Joe is a registered Republican. He registered in March of this year.

Further, Joe doesn't have a plumbing license and owes back taxes.

Additionally, Joe hates Social Security (sounds like McCain) and resents the high life Iraqis are living and cannot figure out why they haven't thanked us for the invasion yet.

Lord, please protect me from these ignorant, lying Republican enablers.

BIDEN: 'JOE THE PLUMBER' NOT FOR REAL -- Politico.com

JOE KNOWS WHEN THE PUBLIC IS BEING SCAMMED

Fact is, Joe Biden is well aware that there is a political dirty tricks operation at work 24/7 in this campaign. Joe has excellent inside knowledge, based on his many years as an advocate for those who are charged with protecting America -- not subverting the political process.

These political operatives spam web sites with political invective, attack those whose posts don't comport to their world view, and they are quite capable of staging phony events and situations and planting "ringers" in the crowd and before the media.

Such stagecraft is in the tradition of Donald Segretti, Lee Atwater, and, of course, Karl Rove, who very well may retain his role as a political puppetmaster even while he pontificates on Fox News.

What's more troubling is the possibility that these forces also are capable of more nefarious interference in the political process, using various exotic and powerful "instrumentation."

ARE THE McCAIN-PALIN CROWD AGITATORS THE SAME STORMTROOPERS WHO DO THIS:

WHAT IF McCAIN-PALIN'S STRATEGY IS AIMED NOT AT VOTERS, BUT AT THE APPARACHIK?

I feel really bad for Joe. He's now doomed to become a pop culture reference, which will haunt him the rest of his life. Let the man plumb in peace.

Will someone please tell McCain that "Joe the Plumber" guy that he keeps babbling about didn't even bother to register to vote!

McCain is such an idiot!
