Obama Says 'Boo' to Reporters

U.S. Democratic presidential nominee Senator Barack Obama (D-Ill.) runs with his daughter Sasha down a street in his Chicago neighborhood Oct. 31, 2008. (Jason Reed/Reuters)

By Shailagh Murray
GARY, Ind. -- Halloween got a little scary for Sen. Barack Obama's press corps tonight.

The Democratic nominee took a short break from the campaign trail to spend the evening with his family in their Hyde Park neighborhood in Chicago, but he wasn't happy to see reporters amid the trick-or-treaters. In a rare flash of emotion for the normally cool candidate, Obama became annoyed when his press pool caught up with him as he walked down the street with 7-year-old daughter Sasha.

"All right guys, that's enough. You've got a shot. Leave us alone," Obama told the gaggle of national and local reporters who had staked out the visit. "Come on guys. Get back on the bus."

And then Obama staged a getaway, trotting off with Sasha, who was dressed as a "corpse bride" in a white cape and black leotard. They were headed to a party at the house of Marty Nesbitt, Obama's friend and campaign treasurer.

Ah another day of bull, the breakfast of bigots and racist and people who simply live their lives without having all the facts. Freedom of the press to say and do as you please to assure your feelings get out. Pat yourselves on your backs as no one else will be able to as you hide here and say nothing worth hearing.
What you all need to do is get off your butts and go VOTE or maybe your like the Alaskan Sen. who is a felon and can't vote.
Oh well enjoy yourselves as you spu out your misinformation.
Oh who do I support, w3ell I am not gonna tell you after all it is private isn't it?

I am really enjoying my R&R. I can see how Obama is coming unraveled. The Obama campaign declined to comment late Friday night about his Aunt, who is an illegal alien in USA.

Barack Obama's aunt, a Kenyan woman who has been quietly living in public housing in Boston, is in the United States illegally after an immigration judge rejected her request for asylum four years ago, The Associated Press has learned.

Obama wants you to believe that he can run the USA but he can't even run his own family. Obama is an elected official in the US Senate, yet he has an Aunt who is an illegal alien.

Obama can't say that he did not know this because he is accepting money from his Aunt for his campaign! According to Federal Election Commission documents filed by the Obama campaign, Onyango has contributed $260 to Obama over a period of time. Under federal election law, only U.S. citizens or green-card holders are legally permitted to give money to campaigns. Onyango, who listed her employer as the Boston Housing Authority, gave in small increments to the Obama campaign. Her latest contribution was $5 on Sept. 19.

That's pretty funny.

And to those Obama supporters who are angry at the reporters dogging their footsteps because it was family time, you were not so respectful when the mainstream media attacked Sarah Palin's children (even the disabled babies) for days on end.

A couple more good ones:

"Rove has spent the last 10 years developing a thorough election stealing process. He destroyed the emails, and his cohorts refuse to testify. Like Bin Laden, he has numerous vote manipulating sleeper cells, who will continue to act independently in the absence of direct orders to deny democratic votes from being counted."

How does that tin foil hat fit? A little snug?

And this:

Like Gail Collins says in her NY Times column today, the only people who are still undecided are those people who, after attending a rally and hearing the candidate talk about housing for 20 minutes, get up and ask "what do you plan to do about housing?" I.e. those have not yet been reached by enough information in this election year, are virtually unreachable.

The time has come to stop criticizing candidates and attacking. The president has many historic, unprecedented and serious problems to tackle and the job will be difficult, if not overwhelming. Whether we have a young black first young president or an old Republican that the media jeers at irrationally 24/7, we don't need to make a very difficult term he will face impossible.

As we approach election day, we should thank the Election Year Gods that both men are highly motivated, accomplished and better than Bush in the ways that matter.

The country needs to unite behind the next president and let him do the best he can according to his particular world view and skills sets. Our criticism should be constructive and teamworking oriented and not corrosive, personal and partisan. the next president will be working for all of our benefit. Whatever factions got him elected, he will be the leader of us all and we should embrace and respect that.

ZOGBY SATURDAY: Republican John McCain has pulled back within the margin of error... The three-day average holds steady, but McCain outpolled Obama 48% to 47% in Friday, one day, polling. He is beginning to cut into Obama's lead among independents, is now leading among blue collar voters, has strengthened his lead among investors and among men, and is walloping Obama among NASCAR voters. Aspergirl, mwhoke, lucygirl1 - Let me count the ways George W and the Republicans have been intimidating our media. Dan Rather, fired because he reported on a story casting our president in a bad light. Newsweek retracts Koran story. Time retracts nerve gas story. Everyone retracts secret prison camp story (which is later admitted by the administration to be true) On and on, ad nauseam. I remember when George W campaigned in Minnesota. No one who was not a card carrying member of the Republican party was allowed in to see him. This happened everywhere he campaigned. Anyone who asked a question criticizing him was hustled out. No hostile reporters were allowed anywhere near. a WV couple were arrested at a rally for wearing anti-Bush shirts. An elderly woman was arrested in DC for questioning Bush's policies. At town hall meetings, both Bush and McCain hand pick the people who can come in. Does that sound like we have had freedom of the press and/or freedom of speech? Not in at least 6 years, we haven't. So don't tell me that Obama=no freedom of speech/press, when it is incredibly well documented and obvious that George W Bush=no freedom of press/speech

What if Obama hadn't joined his kids on Halloween? Would there have been an outcry that he neglects his family? To his credit, McCain once corrected some of his supporters to say that Obama is a good decent family man. But they would rather set an ugly example for their own children by spreading slander.

At a dark time in our country, the McCain/Palin campaign appealed to the basest aspects of human nature. They incited paranoia, rather that kindling a cooperative spirit. At least there was a burst of solidarity after 9/11. But, where it took the subsequent 7 years for Bush to leave this country in shambles, it only took McCain a few months to let the potential for civil, mutual cooperation go up in smoke. Are disagreements over tax and health care plans really worth all that?

The news media is getting exactly what they deserve. Obama is laughing at them and they are too stupid to believe it. Watching the video, he ordered them around like dogs and they obeyed. If McCain had gone off like that the video would be playing constantly while the anchors whined about whether McCain had "lost" it.

At the end of Obama's 8 year reign the "free press" in this country will be very small. Incredibly, at the end of the 8 year reign I think most of us will be wishing some of the press were still available to report!

"Anyone who has supported either Clinton or McCain should cancel all their newspaper subscriptions immediately. And cable too. I have."

Excellent idea, but before doing so you might be surprised if you educate yourself a little on who owns most of the newspapers and cable channels.

Hint: it's not liberals.

So, cancel those subscriptions. This liberal agrees with you on that. If you think liberals think the Mainstream Media is liberal, you'll be surprised.

You can argue all you want that the press is liberal, but you won't find any liberals that agree with you.

Now, if you make the argument that we should all cancel our cable and newspaper subscriptions, you are right.

Liberals get their news online. Shut the old media down. Suits us just fine.

Thanks

The media seems to have been covering for Biden for some time. While news stories still talk about Dan Quayle’s spelling mistake 18 years later, there has been almost no news coverage of Biden’s numerous wacky statements. What if Quayle had said something similar to Biden’s recent statement that, "When the stock market crashed, Franklin D. Roosevelt got on the television and didn't just talk about the, you know, the princes of greed. He said, 'Look, here's what happened.'" A neat trick given that Herbert Hoover was president in 1929 and no one was watching television.

It might not fit the simple template for a 36-year veteran of the Senate to not understand what vice presidents do (after all, eight vice presidents have served with him), but Biden knew less about this than the political outsider, Sarah Palin. Given that they are running to be vice president, why didn’t that story dominate the news coverage after the debate?
-- Finally, an amusing point as evidence that Biden is just one of the people he pointed to, inviting anyone to have a beer with him at "Katie's Restaurant" in Wilmington, Del. Unfortunately, people will have a hard time taking him up on his offer, since the restaurant hasn't had that name for probably 15 years.

The press will learn to do as he says or they will pay.

Yesterday, the Obama campaign barred three reporters from the campaign plane after their newspapers endorsed his opponent.

Last week, the campaign informed an Orlando television station that they would no longer make anyone available for interviews after a reporter asked hard questions of Joe Biden.

Earlier this summer, the Obama campaign called on it's supporters to overwhelm the Phil Rosenberg show on WGN-720 radio in Chicago after it booked an Obama critic. The show offered to have an Obama representative present but the campaign refused. The show was overwhelmed with calls and e-mails of protesters and as a consequence the Chicago Tribune political blog "The Swamp" was down for nearly a week.

Several weeks later, Rosenberg had a second Obama critic on the show and the Obama campaign responded in a similar fashion.

I fear if Obama becomes President "Freedom of the Press" might be endangered!

Just as a side note, I hope that the journalists who've tried to help put Obama in office with their biased reporting and opinion pieces realize that the elevation of his direct information-to-internet media machine to national policy centers spells a shower of pink slips and non-government sponsored media outlet mergers and bankruptcies in coming years.

There is no reason to think he will be sympathetic and supportive to an objective media if elected. And there is no reason why, if elected, he wouldn't continue to use a direct-to-public information publishing via the Internet approach. There is no reason why he wouldn't make direct-to-electorate government media a public institution as an ongoing way to talk directly to the electorate without media permission and spins, so that his Administration may more directly frame national events and sell his agendas.

Perhaps the only reliable stock plays on election night, is, if Obama is winning, to take short positions on mainstream media stocks.

Did Sarah Palin go home to spend Halloween taking her kids trick or treating? Did John McCain go home to be with his family? Did Joe Biden? You can't help but admire a guy who takes the one holiday children take the most seriously off to be with the kids. But, how badly would have the press crucified Sarah Palin had she been the one to go home to the kids? They would have went into top sexist mode and used it as fodder to show how unfit she is to be vice president because she obviously can't concentrate on the job. Don't get me wrong, I think it is highly commendable that Barack Obama went home. He should have been there. But I was really struck by the difference in reporting men's actions and women's actions. Any signs of familial feeling in a woman is interpreted as weakness or unfitness for the job, while on the other hand when she doesn't show familial feeling she is a cold *itc* (re-read the things said about Hilary Clinton if you don't believe that statement). That said, go Obama! Even if you don't win the election, you rule as a daddy!

WASHINGTON - Barack Obama's aunt, a Kenyan woman who has been quietly living in public housing in Boston, is in the United States illegally after an immigration judge rejected her request for asylum four years ago, The Associated Press has learned.

Zeituni Onyango, 56, referred to as "Aunti Zeituni" in Obama's memoir, was instructed to leave the United States by a U.S. immigration judge who denied her asylum request, a person familiar with the matter told the AP late Friday. This person spoke on condition of anonymity because no one was authorized to discuss Onyango's case.

Information about the deportation case was disclosed and confirmed by two separate sources, one of them a federal law enforcement official. The information they made available is known to officials in the federal government...

Leave him alone guys, he already said: “I am not a perfect man.”

Don't you remember? during his ostentatious half-hour infomercial the esteemed Mr. Obama expounded that he was “not a perfect man!”

Well, Mr. Obama, sir, did anyone for a minute think you were perfect? Did you need to remind us of something perhaps? Are you so overly deluded in your self-regard that you assume, we, the hapless voters, worship you and subscribe to your personality cult, such that you need to remind us of your imperfection?

Please, don’t! We need to see you as perfect, we thought you were perfect, er at the very least the Teflon candidate, I mean no matter what you do or say or flip, nothing sticks to ya…

We understand that you are taking the high road and wish to humble yourself before us so that we can love you even more.

Your opponent, you see, we never thought of him as perfect, what with his crippled hands and stage two melanoma, and his septuagenarian disposition…well, he’s wrinkled, mortal, unworthy. He doesn’t have to remind us that he’s flawed. We can see that. He doesn’t even know how to use the Internet!!! Which makes every Internet-user in the world more qualified than him to lead this country…lol, ;-)

But you, sir, don’t burst our bubble fantasy – what would the Obama girl say, why you will break her pretty little heart! You are perfect, and we appreciate your self-deprecating grandness, which endears you so much more…

But one question: did you need to spend so much Halloween candy on a self-promotional video to tell us that? When we can’t pay for our health care or homes? That seems like a serious non-sequitur, but what would an imperfect mortal like me know, eh?

We don't defend Political Parties, we defend the Constitution of the United States of America. Money means nothing to us because we love God and Country, the foundation that the United States of America was founded upon. This is something that Barry Soetoro/Barack Obama can never relate to.

With all due respect, you are mistaken -- especially if you are talking about Iraq. The misbegotten Iraq war is simply a tragic waste of life and treasure -- mostly Iraqi -- that, if anything, lessens our national security inasmuch as it creates new enemies out of people who meant us no harm to begin with. I'm sorry you and your comrades have been sold a bill of goods.

The Third Movement. We are neither Democrat or Republican. We are The Third Movement.

The liberal media can push Obama down the throats of Americans all they want but it doesn't mean all are buying their product. We aren't buying it.

The many patriotic members of our proud US Military and their family members have been forgotten in this election but we have not forgotten Obama. We know that Obama has already sold us out and he will sell us out again in the future. Our voice cannot be counted in the polls but our vote will be counted on November 4th.

We have bled, we have died on the battle fields of Iraq, in Afghanistan and in other places around the world in this Century alone. Obama wants us to lay our arms down and give up what thousands of us have died for but it won't happen.

Obama, Pelosi, and Reid will try to make the defending of our Constitution of none effect by changing it to suit their Party agenda.

From Bunker Hill to the Alamo, from Gettysburg to San Juan, from Somme to Iwo Jima, from the Inchon Peninsula to the Mekong Delta, from Lebanon to Kuwait, from Baghdad to Kabul, WE have defended America and our Constitution. On November 4th, we will continue to defend it. Many of us have already voted from abroad.
From Pearl Harbor to Bremerton, from San Diego to Lackland, from Barksdale to Jacksonville, from Norfolk to Camp Lejuene, from Quintico to Newport, from New London to Great Lakes, from Fort Riley to Presidio, we will not stand down but we stand shoulder to shoulder in this election.

We have voted for or we will vote John McCain for the preservation of the United States of America.

I'm with you Wes1155:

If I were undecided, I'd just have to read a few of these frothing posts to make my choice -- Obama all the way!

Did someone really say "abortion without Anastasia?" Are these posts really just jokes, or are people truly that dumb?

Wes1155,You can make negative remarks about me, you can make negative remarks about my brothers in arms, who are serving our great nation overseas and at home.

You have the right to do so. I don't agree with you but you have that right. You have that right because we are making sure you have that right and we will never let you and other Americans down one iota because we are laying our lives on the line every minute so that people like you can give your opinion online and in freedom of speech in person without fear of being repressed.

You have to wonder if they actually believe the stuff they post. On the other hand if they do they need to seek professional help.

Sad, very sad, because they don't even realize the smears, lies and attempts at character assassination have the exact opposite effect of what they are attempting to achieve. All it does is make people want to run far, far away from these pathetic lunatics and their candidate. Keep up the good work folks!

The media is trying to keep supporters of McCain at home instead of voting because they are saying that McCain-Palin cannot possibly win. This is far from the truth. If Obama were that far ahead, we would not be blitzed with so many Obama commercials this near the actual voting!

The Bradley Effect will be even much more powerful this election than every before.

ALL African-Americans are not voting for Obama and they are already branded "traitors and Uncle Toms," so when polled, many just say "I'm voting for Obama!" Whites are already being branded "racists" by not supporting Obama so many just say "I'm voting for Obama."

Many Americans are not even registered voters, so when they say "I'm voting for Obama," it is just lips service. Many are branded "UN-American," if they are not registered voters. They are not willing to admit, "I'm not even a registered voter."

Palestinians are calling Americans from Palestine, urging them to vote for Obama. Millions of Obama's contributions are from foreign nationals but they are using American's names and addresses. Obama has been outsourcing his campaign to foreign countries, many of whom are enemies of both America and Israel.

Obama's rebuke was pretty polite and appropriate. What's the deal? And by the way, reporters aren't newsmakers. If someone says, "That's enough," to me, it doesn't get into the Post. Didn't know the hurt feelings of former journalism majors counted as news--or I wouldn't have majored in a real subject. I cost myself some good autopublicity.

Old Glory Trampled in the Dirt;********************************
***Media accusing voters of being too racist to support Obama are themselves guilty of punishable abusive racism. Media abuse of culpable licensed liberties deliberately corrupt every fairness objective legally guaranteed by democracy.
***Racist media attacks on Americans demonstrate disdain for democracy and disregard for governing authority. It is an outrage to be maliciously maligned a racist by despicable racist. I have heard, seen, and had, enough of a deceitful iniquitous Machiavellian media. Biased media, democrat leaders, and African American racist, recklessly accuse decent American citizens of being all about us (U.S.) and keeping America first, while they have been all about them, and keeping the nation of their ancestral origin first before America.
***I have never voted for or against any one based on race, gender, ethnicity, national ancestral origin, or color, and I never will. Having said that, until such time it is proved inappropriate or unfair, I will never vote for any Native American, Italian American, African American, or any other kind of American, unwilling to put Americans and America before any other national ancestral origin. For my vote that is not too high an American bar to clear.
***Right now if you can’t see where America is heading you will never believe what’s coming. If racist, biased manipulative media, abortionist democrats, and communist radicals, successfully convince America to put Obama in the White House you will wake up in an Obama Nation a little more African and a lot less American. When old glory lies dropped in the dirt by political corruption and selfish greed, the modern Obama Nation flag, will wave!
***The thought of seeing old glory trampled, reminds me of what F.D.R. said to the nation after the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor, “We have nothing to fear but fear it self”. Today it may be more appropriately said, “We have nothing to fear except God show up and not recognize US”.
***The reasons I will not vote for Obama are vast, vetted, and all American. For my vote Obama’s problem is not what I don’t know about him it’s what I know.
***I have never been anything except an American trying to be a better Christian and prayerfully for the life of me I don’t intend to change! Regardless who wins the White House I will never stop being an American Christian. Stand and vote for John McCain and Sarah Palin.
God Bless America!!

Alabama may be full of racists, as you put it, Xanusus, but many Obama supporters are also racist. I've seen posts online where they say if Obama loses the election, cities will be burned down and many "white people" will be assaulted and killed.
Like this is really what America needs!

When Obama loses the election, it has nothing to do with his race. It will have something to do with his shady past, such as his Indonesian citizenship/passport, his questionable birth certificate, his associations with known radicals, gangsters and terrorists both at home and abroad, his selfishness in refusing to help his own poor family members, his inexperience, his willingness to sit down with America's enemies unconditionally, his Socialistic economic leanings, his wife's un-American statements, his campaign outsourcing in Palestine and in other Arab/foreign nations, his acceptance of illegal Internet contributions from foreign donors, his waste in spending and never ending solicitation of more campaign money when America's economy is hurting and last but not least, Obama's overall lack of credibility due to ALL OF THE ABOVE.

The media shows Obama with a big lead, yet he is still trying to collect more money. The fact is, there isn't a big lead for Obama. This is the closest election in American history!

It was a family outing, and the press should have honored that. Instead, like they did when Obama visited his ailing grandmother in Hawaii, they acted like paparazzi.

Come on guys, there's a difference between journalism and intrusion in any person's life.

If you don't think so, go work for the National Enquirer. Otherwise, do your job and report the news.

A father walking with his child, or walking his steps and remembering his childhood in Hawaii is NOT news. It's something we 'real' Americans see at the checkout stand, and reject.

Do your job - otherwise you are just another motorcyclist causing a wreck in a tunnel in France...

Obama and the liberal media are telling people who plan to vote for McCain to stay at home because the election is already won by Obama. This could not be further from the truth. The Obamedia will tell you all weekend that Obama is winning Ohio, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Florida, Iowa, Virginia, West Virginia, and other states but this is simply not true. A lead in Iowa? That one is possible but the other States are still undecided until people vote!

If Obama really thought he was so far ahead, he would not have spent all the $millions$ to blitz the people with TV commercials about himself.

Obama wants Americans to think he cares for them, when in fact, he does not even care or take care of his own family members.

Obama's grandmother has lived in the same apartment in Hawaii for 40 years. His aunt lives in a Boston Housing Project.A Boston Housing Authority director says Barack Obama’s aunt, a Kenyan woman, has lived in public housing for five years. Barack Obama’s brother, George Hussein Obama, lives in a shack in Kenya on less than a dollar a month. When Obama vistied Kenya two years ago, a school was named in his honor and he promised to give them financial support yet today, the Senator Obama Kogelo Secondary School does not have running water, electricity or sanitation.

Obama reportedly profited $7 million from his book sales.

Obama spent more than $5 million of campaign money for his BIG Night in Denver during the DNC. A one time, one night affair to promote himself. $5 million for the stadium, the light show, and the props. The media has the audacity to blitz people with the fact that Sarah Palin spent $150,000 on clothes from the RNC campaign money. Something is wrong with this picture.

Obama spent the $5 million in Denver and he spent untold $millions$ on his recent TV commercial blitz. Americans claim the Economy is the number one issue yet they, together with illegal foreign donors, have helped Obama spend money which would have bailed out the banks, paid off EVERY American's mortgage and saved the American taxpayers lots of money. Is Obama really concerned about the American Economy?

Barack Obama is trying to buy the US Presidency and he does not care for his own poor family members, who he knows. Do you really think Obama cares for you, who are not his own flesh and blood since he does not care for his own family members?

"The fires of hell are frozen glaciers compared to my hatred for the American government."

No, my friends. That was not said by one of Obama's people, but rather by one of Palin's.

Vogler, the founder of Alaskan Independence Party, said that in a 1991 interview, in which he talked extensively about his desire for Alaskan secession, the key goal of the AIP.

Palin has courted the group over the years.

She addressed its convention this year, in 2008, as an incumbent governor whose oath of office includes upholding the Constitution of the United States.

Palin's husband, Todd Palin, was a member of the party from 1995-2002 with a brief exception in 2000.

Obama is SCARY.

Do you know that Obama WON HIS FIRST ELECTION by having his lawyers KNOCK ALL HIS OPPONENTS (four opponents) OFF THE BALLOT on technicalities and consequently by being A SOLE CANDIDATE.

Obama has also DEEP CONNECTIONS to RADICALS who HATE AMERICA ( Ayers, ACORN, Bernadine Dohn(Domestic Terrorist), Rashid Khalid (PLO Senior member), Dr. Khalid al-Mansour(Saudi Roayas), Frank Marshal Davis (Obama's Communist mentor), Jeremiah Wright and much more.)
Obama is THE MOST EXTREME PRO-ABORTION candidate and is RATED 100% in the RATING of NARAL Pro-choice.
Obama, as a Illinois state senator, VOTED FOUR times AGAINST providing IMMEDIATE medical care to NEW BORN-ALIVE BABIES, LETTING THEM DIE. while the Senate voted 98-0 for the IDENTICAL federal bill, BORN ALIVE INFANT PROTECTION ACT.
Obama also supports PARTIAL BIRTH abortion, a GROUSOME procedure without ANASTASIA. Abortion is ALLOWED until JUST before BIRTH. This ALONE SOUNDS VERY SCARY.

1) Zogby has one of the worst reputations among pollsters.

2) The poll drudge cites is one day and 400 samples, with extrapolated results for non-responding samples. Meaning that at best, 4 more people in a very small sample (47% vs. 48% of 400) said McCain. In fact, it could have been one more person, and Zogby's fudge factors inferred 3 more. And 400 people out of how many hundreds of million voters? C'mon isn't there a stronger straw to grasp at.

Ok first of all I HOPE you are just a democrat making fun of the intelligence/education level of bandwagon republicans via sarcasm. But, just in case you are a serious republican supporter posting that, I have a few things to say to you.

1)Go get an education(any high school diploma or GED would suffice at this point after reading that travesty of poor grammar and atrocious spelling)

2)LEARN TO SPELL! It's spelled Communist with a "C" and 2! m's. I KNOW that's not a typo because the C and the K on the keyboard are no where near each other.

3)It's spelled aRRogant with 2! r's not one. But I'll give you the benefit of the doubt on that and assume that was a typo. Regardless, Obama IS NOT arrogant. Anyone who objectively watched his 30min infomercial would pick up on that. He said in it that he wouldn't be a perfect president. That's not something a prideful person admits. No, that's what HUMBLE people do.

4)POLITIAN is spelled "Politician".

5)At this point I'll just stop with the spelling lessons you SHOULD have learned in general high school or with a GED. There were many more, but I just don't want to take the time to correct.

The point being is that if you can't even express yourself correctly then how am I supposed to believe a single word you say? You come off sounding( and I hate to throw out generalities) but a stupid REDNECK. I know because I live in Alabama and the state is completely full of them spewing their racist garbage. By the way Bama just happens to be the MOST skewed state in Bush's err McCain's favor. Wonder why?

McCain has thrown Maureen Dowd and others off his plane. So why is it that similar action by Obama is so jarring? Senator Stevens gets convicted of 7 crimes, yet proclaims that he is innocent. Mr EagleBerger comes along to say that Governor Palin is "absolutely NOT ready" to be VP, much less President. Neil Cavuto says, "McCain should not worry about having courage of his convictions, since he has no convictions". All this, and Republicans are celebrating? They are delusional. Wait till Wednesday folks - a big broom is coming to sweep aside yesterday's garbage.

Shailagh Murray:

"The Democratic nominee took a short break from the campaign trail to spend the evening with his family."

I have to ask the people calling themselves reporters a few questions:

What important reporting are you supposed to give the readers on a private family moment like the one described here? Can't a candidate, as you say, " take a short break from the campaign trail and spend the evening" with his wife and children, like any ordinary citizen on Halloween?

Unlike Big Mack who suspended his campaign on false and rediculous pretense, Obama simply wanted to have a brief moment with his kids. Is it a crime? Is it so important to report? And Shailagh, did you need to use a big headline saying: "Obama Says 'Boo' To Reporters"?

And finally, what do you mean by "Obama staged a getaway"? Like in a hit an' run maybe?

How rediculous! How childish!

Reporting at its worst!

You know it is funny how republicans always say they are going to run a clean campaign and they are always the first to throw bull---- out.
But so far nothing sticks and there is nothing new so they are back at the top of their s--t list.
The other thing is they say nothing about the $500,000 McCain gave out and Bill Ayers gave out another 78,000. to Rashid Khalide nor do they want to mention the Keating problem or the film McCain made while being a POW. Listen to yourselves if all you can do is attack they other party what does that say about the unity of the USA.
If you want to rant then why not say something about the over 4,000 young lives lost in a war we should not be in or the over 30,000 wounded.
I am wondering just how many of you have stood in honor as they buried those brave young men. I know as a member of the Patriot Guard I seen one too many already. The one thing I never heard was here lies a good republican or a good democrat. I never heard a word that said here is a good white, black, yellow or green man. All I ever heard was we came to honor this young man who gave his all for God and Country.
I also want you to know as a Vietnam Vet I served with many men of all races and we did not care about that at all. All we did is watch out for eachother and try to make it back to the world. For those of you who are not veterans "The World" was the USA.
Remeber this as well it says "WE THE PEOPLE" there is no separation between us. I know I fought for freedom and so others could be free my units moto DeOppresso Liber, liberation of the oppressed. So with that said just go out and vote and no matter who's party wins accept it and support the President and defend your country we all bleed Red, White and Blue

So go ahead vote for McCain it is your right but come Wednesday morning have a big towel ready to catch those tears.
History will be made and Obama will be President, unless of course the book depository is still open. Oh that's right they turned it into a museum so we can live the worst day of all our lives over and over.
Personally I will put my hopes in Obama and hopefully he will amaze all Americans. But please don't ask me to swallow another four years of a republican Whitehouse.
Like I said I live my life by facts and here is a fact for you. Every time we have a Democrat President, America does well it does so well we have surplus and everytime we have a republican in office America does poorly and jobs are lost and the economy faulters.
I have to say though at least all the other republican Presidents did not alienate our alies.
I also never saw a former President dancing on the Whitehouse steps before while endorcing a presidential canidate.
While your running that image through your head think of this one. President Bush signed over 90 deregulations today. some had to do with banking, you remember them we just bailed them out, others dealt with the insurance companies like AIG. Yet I bet you'll even find deregulations on the Credit Card Companies you know them don't you the ones charging you 29.9% APR, do you know why they are not charging more. They are regulated so roll up your pantlegs and in 60 days when the deregulations go into affect, well needless to say they won't need to be bailed out as they will be right up there with oil companies having record profits. I look forward to your comments in 2009 and we all better be hoping we that the senate, congress and the Prisedent can get us out of that fix!

Washington Post the Trail today-
McCain was also asked whom he would name as Treasury secretary, commerce secretary and secretary of defense. McCain didn't hesitate to toss out a few names "Gates has done a fabulous job. [Former eBay chief executive] Meg Whitman, of one of my most trusted advisers. [Former GE chief] Jack Welch is a great guy. I have utmost trust and confidence in [Sen.] Joe Lieberman."

Sounds like Gates gets to keep his job and Lieberman is headed to State.

Hey Florida- How Does Secretary of State

Lieberman Sound?

Good for him. He hasn't been able to spend "alone time" with his daughters in ages. I don't think a few hours is too much to ask of the press.

The candidate conducted himself with dignity.

The father conducted himself with extraordinary restraint.

The reporters in question behaved like ghouls.

Back off. Back way off.

Shailagh Murray is shameless, isn't she? BHO is only "cool" because reporters like Murray are too corrupt to call him on his lies. I strongly suggest reviewing the video of BHO's last debate. After McCain called him on his past associations, in his response BHO spent about 20 seconds obviously flustered and stammering to think up something to say.

And, if you're looking to be scared this Halloween, here's what BHO plans for pre-teens:

No, really: that creepy plan is right on his website.

Good for him.

Its important to set boundaries, and it shows he's able to do it.

He's smart, sensible, and down to earth.

He's going to be a great president.

Gregp1,
And you have the AUDACITY to complain about Fox News.
And Obama as the "Audacity" to complain about Hannity?

The MEDIA is 90% in the tank for Obama. And that is not enough for Obama and his supporters?
Be careful what you wish for. Free Press is leaving because of Obama..and he calls himself a Democrat and cares about liberties?

First, I am one of the 47% of Texans that voted Democrat the past 3 elections! And that, Mr Smart Guy, is MORE POPULATION than most of our other states!

And I have stopped voting Domocrat because of Obama starting on November 4th. It is Obama tht is a RACIST! And anybody that sits and listens to this kind of HATE about America and 87% of Americans is not into the equality that DEMOCRATS fought for! WISE UP! Or SHUT UP!

Well I read all your comments found some interesting, some misinformed, others so far off track I was wondering where they were coming from. Oh not to mention one where the individual would have benefited by the no child left behind which was never really funded to succeed by the Bush administration.
Personally I have watch the news from the beginning to the present. I started out loving Hillary and hating that black man Obama. Opps the lights came on the more I researched the more I found out that Obama was real.
My God I must be delussional, Obama Real. Yes he was and then I start seeing a dream of Camelot, you remember when JFK was alive?
Oh the GOP slung the mud and I said well that sorry SOB he fooled me. Then being a fairly intelligent person I did the research. Boom there it was again Obama Real! On every fact I found him innocent as charged, misquated, slandered and putdown. What truly amazed me was this man took it all in stride. He was unshakable, my God the man was truly Presidential.
So guess what happened next, I went to the voting polls I marked my ballot for Obama and walked out of the polls with my head held high. I was an American not a racist I want to say one more thing, I am a Vietnam vet and as such I would have died first rather than give up information or make a video condeming our presence in Vietnam. Name, Rank and serial number; NAME, RANK AND SERIAL NUMBER, now you guess what Navy Pilot forgot that and made the film while being held. I am not saying he wasn't a hero for what he went through over there, just that he forgot what every American Serviceman is taught the first week of basic, Name, Rank and Serial Number! Go Vote but before you do have the facts, get the whole story! Ok you can get mad now , get even or whatever. I am ready for change, I am ready for Camelot to rise from the mist and see the sun shine once more on an America that has its honor back!

Associated Press
AP poll: 1 in 7 voters still persuadable
By ALAN FRAM 10.31.08, 9:19 AM ET

WASHINGTON - Patrick Campbell worries Barack Obama will raise his taxes but thinks John McCain will send people off to war. He says that leaves him leaning toward Obama ... maybe.

"I'm split right down the middle," said the 50-year-old Air Force Reserve technician from Amherst, N.Y. "Each one has things that are good for me and things that are bad for me. And people like me."

With the sand in the 2008 campaign hourglass about depleted, Campbell is part of a stubborn wedge of people who, somehow, are still making up their minds about who should be president. One in seven, or 14 percent, can't decide, or back a candidate but might switch, according to an Associated Press-Yahoo (nasdaq: YHOO - news - people ) News poll of likely voters released Friday.

KEEP THROWING PROMcCAIN REPORTERS OFF THE PLANE OBAMA REPLACING THEM WITH JET AND ESSENCE MAGAZINE WRITERS- YOU'RE LETTING AMERICA SEE YOUR TRUE AUTHORITARIAN SIDE A FEW DAYS TOO SOON: Fairness Doctrine comes next - cut off conservative radio- like you cut off that tv station in Orlando-

YOU'RE WORSE THAN BUSH- HE DIDN'T TRY TO CUT OFF MSNBC! and 1 IN 7 ARE DECIDING...

McCain campaign’s bad decisions have not stopped with Sarah Palin. It has made a series of questionable calls, including making Joe the Plumber the embodiment of the campaign.
Are voters really expected to warmly embrace an (unlicensed) plumber who owes back taxes and complains about the possibility of making a quarter million dollars a year? And did McCain’s aides really believe so little in John McCain’s own likability that they thought Joe the Plumber would be more likable? Apparently so. Which is sad

Obama's campaign has nurtured this cult of personality. The logo, the seal, the slogans of "Change" and "Hope". Now the man is upset that he is being hounded by the paparazzi? There is no way that a politician can fulfill the promises and expectations that this campaign has held up. And he won't. God help us, because Obama has promised exactly what Jesus promised - Hope.

I was thinking about dressing up. And I really wanted to be scary," Clinton said at her first stop, acknowledging the holiday. "I've done the princess stuff, and this time I wanted to be really frightening, so I thought I would dress up like George W. Bush," she said to cheers.
"Then I realized John McCain took that costume."Clinton later added: "This is our chance my friends. It's going to either be trick or treat. The trick -- we can't fall for that again. The treat is new leadership with a new president, in Barack Obama."

kabindra1, I suppose that if McCain is elected, all of us who find torture of prisoners by our government emotionally disturbing will be in need of therapy if we're to sit still for four more years of seeing our nation's once honored flag dragged through the mud.

Or perhaps we'll decline therapy and fight for the land we love.

Texan2007, I presume that you're also very worried about government spying on its own citizens while not allowing its citizens to know what government is doing. No? I mean, the way I was brought up, the people need to keep a close eye on government, not the other way 'round. Why? Because a "government oppressed by the people" is a concept that just doesn't make sense, while a "people oppressed by their government" is something every plumber can imagine.

So we're now under an Obama dictatorship, eh? And who's in jail as a result of it? Who's oppressed as a result of it? Who's been silenced as a result of it? And by the way, how do you exercise a dictatorship as a senator from Illinois?

Yinz been smoking too much mesquite, or something, down there.

Sometimes I wonder what would happen if George W. Bush's "No Child Left Behind" policy succeeds. My best guess is, no new Republicans.

Then I snap back to reality, by asking myself, "What are the odds of any given George W. Bush policy succeeding?"

And I resign myself to a long future full of poorly educated high school graduates, and many Republicans.

The MEDIA never imagined that in their zest to elect Obama, they would turn the media into the Obama headquarters with Obama saying what they will or will not ask and print
and which media outlets will get to talk to the Obama camp and who will not.

And the LOS ANGELES TIMES IS SCARED! So NO TAPE? or are they just too in the sack for OBama to even care about their reputation and the FREEDOM OF THE PRESS they preach about!

This is like a communist country with the DICTATOR OBAMA ruling the press and OWNING the press!

Everyday is Halloween with John McCain. He has lots of treats for his corporate CEO friends, but only tricks for middle class Americans.

Rove has spent the last 10 years developing a thorough election stealing process. He destroyed the emails, and his cohorts refuse to testify. Like Bin Laden, he has numerous vote manipulating sleeper cells, who will continue to act independently in the absence of direct orders to deny democratic votes from being counted.
