Obama's Post-Debate TV Ad
By Ed O'Keefe
Folks watching cable channels nationwide today may find a new ad from the Obama campaign that repeats an often-used line of attack on John McCain -- that he's in lockstep with the Bush Administration -- and seeks to undermine his protestation to the contrary at last night's final presidential debate.
"Senator Obama, I'm not President Bush," McCain says in a clip inserted into the ad straight from last night's debate.
"But you did vote with President Bush 90 percent of the time," the Obama spot's announcer then says. "Tax breaks for big corporations and the wealthy. But almost nothing for the middle class -- same as Bush. Keep spending ten billion a month in Iraq while our own economy struggles -- same as Bush."
The ad ends with a McCain statement that has frequently been thrown back at him this election cycle: "I voted with the President over 90 percent of the time, higher than a lot of my even Republican colleagues."
Both campaigns have released similar "day after" ads in the past.
