Undeterred by Driving Rain, Obama Rallies Pa.

By Robert Barnes
CHESTER, Pa. -- Is Barack Obama's luck running out?

We're talking about the weather.

After a string of huge rallies in idyllic fall tableaus and under crystal skies, Obama spoke today to thousands in a driving, cold rain on a muddy field at Widener University. With temperatures in the 30s, he spoke an hour earlier than scheduled because of the worsening weather and ditched his usual dark suit and white shirt for a heavy jacket, jeans and sneakers.

His Republican rival John McCain canceled a rally in Quakerstown, Pa., because of similar conditions.

Obama noted that the "Stop Global Warming" signs some in the crowd held might have more appeal on another day.

"I saw [Pennsylvania Gov.] Ed Rendell backstage and his teeth were chattering," Obama said.

But he saw a silver lining in the shivering crowd of thousands standing in the mud and braving the at-times horizontal rain. "If we see this kind of dedication on Election Day, there's no way that we're not going to bring change to America," he said.

Obama hit back hard on McCain's new charge that he is "the Redistributor." McCain charged Monday that Obama plans on "taking your money and giving it to someone else. He believes in redistributing wealth, not in policies that grow our economy and create jobs."

Obama said there was no reason for voters to believe McCain has answers for the nation's economic crisis.

"John McCain has ridden shotgun as George Bush has driven our economy toward a cliff, and now he wants to take the wheel and step on the gas," Obama said.

"When it comes to the issue of taxes, saying that John McCain is running for a third Bush term isn't being fair to George W. Bush."

Obama said McCain is "proposing $300 billion in new tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans and the biggest corporations. That's not even something George Bush proposed. Not even George Bush proposed another $700,000 tax cut to the average Fortune 500 CEO. Not even George Bush proposed a plan that would leave 100 million middle-class families out of tax relief."

Obama is hoping for sunnier skies later in the day in Virginia, where he is making his ninth visit since securing the nomination. He is hoping to win the commonwealth for the Democrats for the first time since 1964, and will hold rallies in Harrisonburg and Norfolk.

Hey JaxMax, you forgot to mention that McCain was endorsed by Al Queda.

Typical Republican, does not tell the whole story just to get elected.

Where's your dignity, integrity and specially honesty in you??

For ordinary citizen this election is about hope vs fear. Those with hope that there will be a better tomorrow they are willing to gamble on an opportunity for change. Many can see that Obama has the ingredients to be a successful president but they know that having the ingredients and being a success are two different things. They have trepidation.
Then there are those who are dominated by fear. They do not see a better tomorrow they are overwhelmed by the risks of today. They do not see what McCain will do to improve their lives but they are in need of someone to protect them from our "enemies". These enemies are liberals who do not care about America. These enemies are change and they are not very adaptable so change is frightening. The enemy could be al Qaeda or Iran or Russia, McCain is more "qualified" to face these threats. They see these threats as inevitable and not in our control so they need a person who is quick to react. It is inconceivable to them that someone can be prepared and is ready to respond because he has anticipated the attack and maybe even headed it off with anticipation.
I see the next two years as the bottom of our slide and that we can make progress as long as we maintain a level playing field. My hope is that a majority of ordinary people are optimistic for if they are we will elect a president who shares our optimism and ours will be a brighter future. That does not mean the next one to two years will not be hard. But it is worth it to turn this country around.

During the Vietnam war, Biden and his friends in Senate demanded the US government to withdraw troops and cut off funding immediately for South Vietnam. Because of that, many South Vietnamese were killed or put in prisons by North Vietnam. Biden and Obama will do the same thing for Iraq. Biden is willing to sacrifice Iraq to get votes. Who are the victims this time? Israel? Kuwait? Anyone else?

It amazes me how much people buy into the liberal media. America will speak on November 4th, and the democrats will once again take a back seat.
Millions of Americans like me don't find it necessary to get involved in all the democrat lead polls and gossip.
Another poll you don’t hear about from the democrats is that approximately 15% of Americans will vote McCain and say they voted Obama simply because they don’t want a black man running the country.
All McCain has to do is stay within that spread for the victory. He is within that margin now.
I can’t wait for the democrats to scream for a recount after they realize they were part of the biggest lie in voting history.

Here's a post I came across afew weeks ago:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sorry, but the truth isn't "liberal." It's pretty funny to hear you right-wingers screech when things don't go your way, just like infants in the sandbox. And I don't need to be lectured on "loving America" by the same self-loving conservatives who opposed every advance in human rights in this country for the last 70 years. You have destroyed this economy every time you've gotten your hands on it, though Democrats always clean up your messes. You have killed thousands of Americans and hundreds of thousands of innocents around the world. You have beaten, dragged, lynched, and defamed everyone who looks different from you or disagrees with you.
I don't need your moral judgments on liberalism, because you have no ground from which to make them. You are morally, intellectually, and now financially bankrupt. It is you who hate the idea that America means dialogue and compromise--you want it all, all to yourselves.
I love my home and my country too much to cede it to the likes of you. It's not America I hate--it's your philosophy. America is more generous, decent, and kind than you have ever let it be, or would ever let it be.
That said, it's an American tradition to honor our fellow Americans' hatefulness as their "right." So I honor your right to continue hating everyone to the left of Hitler. But you will never, never, get my vote, and I will work as hard as I can to undermine your every effort, in every way I can, as long as I live.
Enjoy watching history move past you. It will whether you want it to or not.
OBAMA FAVORITE IN POLL--OF TERRORISTS
Terrorists overwhelmingly PREFER Obama. Todays Jerusalem Post documents:
"What do Iran's ayatollahs, Hamas terrorists, Louis Farrakhan, Jesse Jackson and Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi have in common? They are all pulling for Barack Obama to win the US presidential election.
When Israel's disparate foes manage to rally behind a single candidate, it should set off alarm bells for anyone who cares about the Jewish state.
If you think this is just Republican scaremongering, consider the following.
Last week, Ali Larijani, the hard-line speaker of the Iranian parliament, told a press conference in Bahrain that "we are leaning more in favor of Barack Obama because he is more flexible and rational" (Agence France Presse, October 22).
And then there is the October 19 endorsement that Obama received from Hamas spokesman Ahmed Yousef, who told WABC radio host John Batchelor and World Net Daily's Aaron Klein that "we as Palestinians are thinking that we might have better luck with a new administration, maybe, if Obama wins the election... I do believe he will change the American foreign policy in the way they are handling the Middle East."
RESPONSE--OBAMA loves terrorists because OBAMA HATES AMERICA
BOTTOM LINE: NO TAX CUT BY OBAMA
OBAMA DISTORTS AND LIES -- ALL AMERICANS TO PAY HIGHER TAXES
Senator Obama is not being truthful when he says only Americans earning $250,000 will get a tax increase.
Senator Obama plans to let the current 2007 rates lapse. The rates under Obama will return to the higher 2000 level. Senator Obama claims that letting a tax cut lapse is not a "tax increase."
But requiring Americans to pay more taxes than in 2007 amounts to a TAX INCREASE.
For a married family, filing jointly and earning $75,000 a year, this INCREASE will be $3,074.
For a married family, filing jointly and earning $50,000, this INCREASE will be $1,512.
Even struggling American families making just $25,000 a year will see a tax INCREASE-- they'll pay $715 more in 2010 than they did in 2007.
Across the board, ALL WORKING AMERICANS WILL SEE SIGNIFICANT INCREASES in their taxes with Obama's plans.
Yes, it will affect Americans even if their household income is as low as $25,000.
I know I am deviating from the topic here by talking about those two so-called neo-nazis who apparently plotted to kill many blacks as well as Obama(what losers!).
You know, I have observed that only losers tend to be attracted to this type of movement and here is my theory as to why. You are a white(or black as the case maybe) loser in our conventional sense in your society where you feel powerless and worthless(cos you're stupid, fat, ugly, boring, poor, under-educated with no prospect of bettering your life or you are just plainly unloved by anyone in the world, or all of these). You feel pretty down and out with such a low self-esteem with inarticulable anger bubbling just below the surface. You wanna pick somebody to hate, to direct all your anger and frustration toward.
Therefore, your one and only chance to feel good about yourself basically comes at the expense of others who you(cowardly and mistakenly) view as 'weaker' in your society due to many reasons such as their ethnicity, race, religions, sexual orientation and many others. Hmmmm... the picture is getting very pathetic now.
Those so called 'white supremacists' or (black supremacists as the case maybe) will do better to remember that there is nothing so 'supreme' about their movement which is essestially all about the most primitive of human emotions such as hatred of different people and culture, fear of unknown. Animals have these feelings too. Actually these are the hallmark emotions of animals. Since you guys who are so 'supreme' are acting out on these unsophisticated animal instincts, I just don't know how you can claim to be 'supreme' over other races because if any, you guys seem less evolved.
Finally, a word for Obama. Unfortunately all great leaders of America had to endure this type of lunacy - Lincoln, Kennedy, King to name but a few. I hope you remain strong despite this, because to so many in America and the world in general, you represent a shining new hope for the future, for enlightenment and true civilisation. You are the beginning of an entirely new chapter and we are proud of you.
The weather may be cold and rainy today, but Americans from all walks of life want real solutions to global warming. The best way for Senator Obama to show his support for real global warming solutions is to reengage with the international community by going the UN climate talks in Poland this December.
OBAMA’S MIDDLE CLASS TAX CUT - $1200
McCAIN’S MIDDLE CLASS TAX CUT - $300 + LOWER CORPORATE TAXES FOR BUSINESSES CREATING MIDDLE CLASS JOBS, BUT THEY DON'T USE IT FOR JOB CREATION AND SHIP YOUR JOB OFFSHORE AND YOU GET LAID OFF.
LET’S SEE- $1200 CHECK VS $300 CHECK + UNEMPLOYMENT.
Tradition! tradition....tradition
National Gallup (Traditional)* Obama 49, McCain 47 Obama +2
Those numbers are a sight for sore eyes-
Americans want jobs and a good economy, in the tradition of the best that America has been-
America does not want socialism....from each according to his ability... because we value hard work and the chance of getting ahead by studying (like Obama did), working with our hands, writing the next hit, or the "Great American Novel", or simply working our way up day by day as a teacher, policeman, architect, etc taking joy in the help we've brought to others and the security we've brought to our families.
THAT's American tradition- not the Redistributive Society Obama could bring in 2 months. What does America want? A check or a job?
Gallup's showing us that more and more want jobs!
OBAMA’S MIDDLE CLASS TAX CUT - $1200
McCAIN’S MIDDLE CLASS TAX CUT - $300 + LOWER CORPORATE TAXES FOR BUSINESES CREATING MIDDLE CLASS JOBS
LET’S SEE- $1200 CHECK VS $300 CHECK+JOB
Barack Obama should heed those activists with the "Stop Global Warming" signs - climate change is a critical challenge for American and our planet. We need to move forward quickly with science-based solutions, a clean energy revolution, and re-engagement with the world community to solve this crisis. If elected, President-elect Obama can show that America is back and ready to lead by attending the UN Climate talks in Poland this December.
The McCain camp and its sycophants at Fox News is doing Obama a great favor by staying true to form with their adolescent name calling ("redistributer") which only serves to re-enforce the point Obama has been making all long - McCain has no positive message.
Imagine if McCain gets elected. It will be political gridlock as he finds dirt to dig up on everyone in the congress and throws temper tantrums in the White House. In the meantime Sarah Barracuda will be firing everyone who looks cross-eyed at her and bankrupting the treasury with per diem outings with her family to show biz events which, of course, will demand yet another trip to Saks Fifth Avenue.
God help us . . .
McCain voted with Bush and let capitalism run unregulated, which resulted in a MASSIVE transfer of wealth from the lower and middle classes to a minority of obscenely wealthy American entrepreneurs (some of which also went overseas). BO is attempting to re-level the playing field, by taking a little more from those that can more than afford it and allowing lower-income people to keep more of their income. He knows that we need a middle class to have a strong economy and for people to be better off, and he has the correct recipe to rebuild it...and I am so tired of Republicans whining 'socialist'....just so you know, rearranging the tax scheme and raising taxes (only by 3%!!) on 2% of our population does NOT EQUATE to socialism!
