The Rundown

HRC Chatter Continues to Dominate

Will he or won't he? That question -- whether Barack Obama will hand the Foggy Bottom keys to Hillary Clinton -- continues to drown out all other political news this morning: The meeting with John McCain, the floundering auto bailout, the Joe Lieberman vote, even Sarah Palin, budding author.

Judging from the coverage, the scales seem tilted more toward "will" than "won't." Our cousins at the Guardian claim it's a done deal, though no other outlets go that far. The vetting of Bill Clinton continues apace, and remains the largest hurdle left to clear (though there are some in Obamaland who just don't like the idea, period, regardless of the Bill question). Is it possible that the longer the job dangles out there, the better the chance some deal-killing story/scandal will break?

An Israeli-Palestinian peace agreement would be a HUGE political win. If HRC spearheads that effort, she'll be POTUS from 2017-2025.

Beyond that, that agreement is vital for our national security interests. It'll take the wind out of the terrorist recruiting efforts.

Republican media machine likes to float talking points in the foreign press so they can get the US media to pick up on it.

what an infantile child... she will throw a hissy fit if she doesn't have her way... like New Hampshire, start blubbering about how it all means so much....

big mistake especially the "obliterate" Iran statement. Well, she has got AIPAC behind her, so I guess she has got it.

In the meantime ,Bush and his corporate bosses are destroying every chance working people have to break the chains of economic tyranny they've shackled us with. Destroying the UAW will be a major victory for the economic tyrants, and a potential death knell to the middle class.

We must arm ourselves with information. Naomi Klein, Noam Chomsky, and Amy Goodman are indispensable information sources in defense of our economic liberty at this pivital moment in history.

As Barry Goldwater once said, "Moderation in the face of tyranny is no virtue."
