Time Running Out on Palin Medical Records Release

By Juliet Eilperin
With less than 48 hours until polls open, it remains unclear whether GOP vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin will release her medical records.

Nearly a week ago, her spokeswoman Tracey Schmitt said the campaign was preparing "a release of information regarding her medical history" which "will happen sooner rather than later."

No such information has yet been released, and Schmitt did not respond to e-mails seeking comment on the matter.

From what I've heard she DID have an abortion and she wants to cover it up to protect her ``family values'' persona. I don't know about the question of whether she carried her daughter's baby to term secretly, but I'm sure the abortion story is true. You can quote me.

Sarah Palin doesn't have to release any medical records (or the rest of her tax returns - - namely 8 yrs of them in order to provide as many yrs as the other 3 candidates).....Governor Palin is above the rules, regulations, lores, laws and ethics that apply to everyone else and SHE decides what she will/will not do.

Anyone who believed she would provide either also believes in the fairies.

I guess we know why Obama wasn't up and at them before 9:30, as he found out his grandmother died at 8:00 this morning.

People continue to mention Obama's citizenship status. Factcheck.org and Politifact have cleared that up as much as is possible. As they have said, if the certificates were fake, it would have taken massive effort on the part of many individuals and agencies to pull it off. So if you are working that hard to believe in such a conspiracy, you should just admit that you don't like Obama at all. It's a good enough excuse.

But, Sarah Palin, on the other hand, has still not turned over records. We can't even determine if her records are doctored as they still do not exist!

Sarah Palin has a history of keeping secrets.

She hid the fact her daughter was pregnant.

There are still questions about the circumstances of Trig's birth.

God knows what other secrets she's hiding in her medical records.

"Two weeks ago, Palin’s campaign told several reporters traveling with the campaign that a summary of the governor’s medical history would be made public before election day.

Reporters were told that details on Palin’s medical background would be released early last week. Last Thursday, after that timeframe had passed, a campaign aide backed off the previous pledge, saying the campaign wasn’t sure when the information would be released.

John McCain, Barack Obama and Joseph Biden have all provided details about their medical history."
Andrew Sullivan, November 3, 2008

I guess Palin's planning on releasing them at 11:59 tonight.

All I can surmise from this is that her medical records reveal some nasty piece of business that just might turn off her following.

McCain born in Panama? Not a U.S. Citizen -- that's just as crazy as the allegations made against Obama. Stop this silliness. Obama has proven he is qualified and conservatives have failed miserably for the past 8 years. That's reason enough to vote for Obama. The smears are absurd. Whether McCain or Obama are foreigners do not change the man. Obama is just better for the job!

Posted by: designsmith | November 3, 2008 10:55 AM | Report abuse

I believe she realizes they will lose the election, so why give out scandalous information about her medical records. Did she have an abortion? Is the baby not hers -- even friends reported she never looked pregnant. Did she have an STD? Regardless, she's left it up to our imagination at her demise. If she has any place on the national stage, she will have to disclose her apparent hypocrisy that obviously lies in her past!

Sarah had her tubal after Piper. Trig is levi and bristol's. Look at levi closely, you can see how trig favors him. Dr. cathy baldwin-johnson wasn't even on staff at the hospital where trig was delivered in april 2008.

Posted by: finn2 | November 2, 2008 10:38 PM | Report abuse

Well, rumor has it here that the reason she hasn't turned over the medical records is because she had a tubal ligation after the last child. LOL. I don't blame her, I've done that too, but it does explain why the history isn't released, and why she stated there would be "fodder" IF it were released (she's right), and why McCain's team is calling her "rogue" and has "trust issues with her family" and a "whack job." Yup, that would explain many things; it all comes together. Poor Bristol, kept in hiding too, it's better to tell the truth and let the girl go on, she's an adult! This is a despicable woman, that will do and say anything, including throw her daughter and grandchild under a bus to become a VP. HOW could she, well...probably religion. She needs to get over it! She's so done in politics, this is pathetic if it is indeed true. I'm sort of glad to have heard it, I'm changing my vote to Barack Obama, because I feel he's been telling the truth and steady. I can't trust a senile guy that didn't vet a hockey mom that never played hockey either.

JakeD says that Palin used the word "If", and that somehow means that she's not obligated to release her medical records or be called a liar. Wrong, wrong, wrong. Her staff, speaking on her behalf, said that she WOULD release some medical history. Her "If" doesn't mean anything in this instance! But keep trying to cover for her - she needs it!

Palin is either hiding from the public that "her" baby Trig is really her daughter's... or the possibility that she had an abortion at some time in her past.

It doesn't matter anymore, all these lies and deceptions by McCain and Palin.

They've lost. Long live President Obama!

It disturbs me greatly that this woman thinks she can keep her medical records secret. The other candidates have released theirs -- have to say that McCain doesn't appear to have reached full disclosure (because of the short time reporters and others were allowed to look at them).

If, by some disastrous happening, she and McCain are elected on Tuesday, what will we find about this person once it is too late to change the results of the election?

People who support her and McCain should be paying attention to this issue, I think.

Ms Palin's failure to release her medical records after stating publicly that she would do so is simply one more example of the doublespeak she speaks so fluently. It does make me wonder if her last baby is in fact her daughter's as has been widely speculated.

Posted by: Invalid_User_Name | November 2, 2008 3:03 PM | Report abuse

I find it surprising that the media isn't making a bigger stink about this... and therefore putting the appropriate pressure on the McCain camp to release Palin's records. What's outrageous about this is the blatant lie from Palin's people that these records would be made available... when obviously, they've changed their minds and/or never intended to go through with the promise. That should send up a red flag right there that's there something "funky" in her records. If McCain were to be unable to serve out his term, this woman would step in as President. If there's something worth hiding in her medical records, let's know now what it is, before we vote.

Posted by: DogBitez | November 2, 2008 3:03 PM | Report abuse

Yeah, that's a good possible theory why they won't release her records - they might show she actually had an abortion. Regardless the reason, now wouldn't that be something. Now there's some red meat for these blowhard conservative Republicans to chew on - you think?

McCain supporters talk about "Obama doesn't 'Add Up'"...

What doesn't "ADD UP" is that someone would vote for the same political party that has DEMONSTRATED that they are IRRESPONSIBLE LEADERS.

Our economy is in the hole, respect for the US dollar has fallen, our military is transparent to our enemies, our beloved Constitution has been assaulted, and now the same party is picking on little old ladies and whining about their tax bill.

Save OUR Country and Constitution from the PROVEN FAILURE of the Republican Party

I am not interested in seeing Sarah Palin's medical records. A statement from her doctor that she is in good health is good enough for me . All of us should be able to keep our detailed medical records private . I already voted for Obama ( I am living in Europe until democracy returns in the USA ). Sarah Palin will NEVER be Vice or any other kind of President, so leave her alone . Who cares if she had STD's, a tummy-tuck, a boob-job or 3 or 4 abotions. This is none of our business. We should all leave the lady alone and let her go back to Alaska and deal with her problems, family and otherwise .

This is a long shot, but who knows, given the serial mendacity, duplicity and concealment of the GOP campaign? So, here goes: perhaps, 'I'm 1/16th Inuit' Sarah has so far failed to mention that the medical records show baby Trig is 9/16th Inuit.

Trig isn't her baby and the records will prove it.

We'll find out when we see what happens with Bristol's "baby."

After the election she'll either have a "miscarriage" or the baby will quickly be given up for "adoption." In either case she's faking the pregnancy, just like Palin faked her pregnancy. No woman in labor is going to take a 12 hour plane trip to get back to some back water hospital in outer Wasilla.

She won't release her records because it will show that either she's only had 4 babies, or she's had an abortion. I can't think of anything else that would be damaging.

BTW, the video where she talks about defeating Iraq AND Iran was downright scary. All this woman wants to do PUSH THE BUTTON. You want a nuke war? Put Sarah in office. She will bring about armageddon and the Rapture all by herself.

Uhhh-trisha4,

Bad News!

We are in a way at war with Iran. By Default.

See, IRAN has had a Declared War with Us, ever since the Founding of the Theocracy in 1978!

THAT, is one of the biggest reasons we have to be so careful with our Executive's Travel arrangements. Being in a declared War, is all that is needed for Iran to feel justified in any sort of military action.

I am GLAD someone in Washington-or, possibly heading that way, is willing to call the Iranians on their declaration! I have witnessed on C-Span, the Leaders of Iran bragging to their collected Flight Officers that they will witness our destruction! The Rhetoric was very disturbing!

Closing the deal
By Salena Zito
TRIBUNE-REVIEW
Sunday, November 2, 2008

The narrative of this historic presidential election has come down to which candidate will close the deal and win the trust of Pennsylvania voters.

From the outside looking in, Pennsylvania has become a metaphor for all that is wrong with our country when it comes to race -- especially those of its Democrats who are soft on or wary of Barack Obama.

Yet on the inside, Pennsylvania is far from its broad-brush portrayal as racist. It is not the color of the candidate; it is the culture he represents.

Say what you will, Obama's "spread the wealth" tongue-slip hit home here.

Most Pennsylvania Democrats who live outside of Philadelphia are very Midwestern in their values and their votes.

If they lose their jobs, they go out and get two more to make up for the loss. They do not take handouts and they don't whine; they provide for themselves and their families.

Their voting patterns and other traditions passed along to their sons and daughter will help to decide this election.

"In an odd way, many liberals are tone-deaf about normal people, who worship God, country, sports and their communities and don't care all that much about politics," says former Villanova political scientist Bob Maranto.

Maranto says what's causing Pennsylvania voters to give Obama a second look goes beyond Obama's "share the wealth" notion: "They are suspicious of him and his Ivy League buddies who have never run anything in their lives (but) that now want to run the country."

He adds that "it is all in the arrogance."

Liberal Democrats often have a hard time in this state because they don't understand why voters in poor, rural areas don't "vote their pocketbooks." Frankly, these are not very materialistic people; if you live in Johnstown or in Elk County and you care that much about money, then you will leave for better opportunities in the big city.

People who stay behind don't care as much about money as they care about their families or communities.

To ambitious politicians such as Obama or running mate Joe Biden, that's just crazy; they can't imagine folks who care more about family or community than about getting ahead.

Much the same can be said for the Pittsburgh region, where many people live within a few miles of where they grew up.

Who will close the deal in Pennsylvania? The polls say Obama; the pundits, too.

Let's see what the voters say.

There is no excuse for not releasing the medical records. There is obviously some damaging information that they want to suppress. So what can it be? Abortion? The baby is not hers? Breast implants? Lobotomy?

Juris Doctor (abbreviated J.D. or JD, from the Latin, Teacher of Law) is a first professional[2] graduate degree[3] and professional doctorate[4] in law. The degree was first awarded by Harvard University in the United States in the late 19th century as a degree similar to the old European doctor of law degree (such as the dottore di giurisprudenza in Italy and the Juris Utriusque Doctor [5]) and the legal studies counterpart to the M.D. degree in the United States.[6] Originating from the 19th century Harvard movement for the scientific study of law, it is the first and only law degree that has a goal of being the primary professional preparation for lawyers (and therefore a terminal professional degree). It is the only professional doctorate in law and is a three year program in most jurisdictions (other doctorates are four years or longer).[7] Like other professional doctorates in the United States (M.D., D.D.S., etc.), a research dissertation or ********thesis is not traditionally a part of the J.D.***** This degree primarily exists in the United States, but recently has appeared in universities in other countries for the first time, although it has a unique form in each country.

Enough about the damn thesis - JD's don't do a thesis which is why Obama has not released his thesis.

Why don't you grow up now.

Days experience as president of the US - McCain - 0, Obama - 0.

What on earth is the point of silly nonsense about experience when no-one has any experience before the first day in the job.

As for McCain's leadership - what did he ever lead?

There is a fascinating piece in the New Yorker about Chuck Hagle and McCain today.

Read it.

Any why do people have to resort to smears and hatred of Obama when he had no choice about who his parents were, where he was born, the colour of his skin or his name.

There is something juvenile about US politics that makes most of the world cringe.

Since there are still 2 days until that idiot is sent packing, it is fair to ask what she's hiding in the medical records she refuses to release. Obviously, there must be something she'd be embarrassed to have people know about, or she'd have laid this potential problem to rest a long time ago. Chances are it's something that would expose the hypocrisy of her extreme right-wing religious politics- i.e., that she does not practice what she preaches.
Fortunately, in a little more than 48 hours that nut will be crawling back into the hole she came from, taking her ignorance & inflammatory smears with her.
Good riddance!!!

She won't release them, because they have something negative in them. The McCain campaign knows they are better off not releasing them - after all, how many votes would they pick up if they released non-controversial records, versus how many will they lose if they release no records at all? I doubt there are many voters thinking they'd like to vote for McCain if only they knew Palin's medical records. Since they can't release non-controversial records, nothing will be forthcoming.

The WaPo beat the drum loudly for Bush's Iraq War. The WaPo is not a liberal paper.

They are sneaky though: a thousand little stories leaning left so that they can have the reputation to help the right get away with their big lies.

The NYT did an article about McCain's Arizona network: Hensley-Marley-Lansky. The WaPo printed all kinds of stuff about Obama and Chicago but wouldn't write the truth about how McCain ditched his first wife to marry into an organized, dirty, filthy sordid network. And then he used that network to launch his political career.

The WaPo spiked the biggest story of this election. McCain isn't a reformer; he's one of the most dishonest and corrupt politicians who's ever hit DC.

John McCain is fiercely independent. And he makes no apologies for the principles he holds dear, even if they be at odds with the traditional party base. But he has never wavered in his core belief of what Republicanism (with a capital "R") and republicanism (with a lower-case "r") are all about:

Small government. Fiscal discipline. Low taxes. A strong defense. And a judiciary that does not legislate from the bench.

Compared with Barack Obama's long and dangerous statist laundry list of the ever more expansive role government should play in our lives, John McCain sums it up quite succinctly, quite effectively and quite nicely, thank you.

Indeed, we have differences that are more than quibbles with some of Sen. McCain's positions. We stridently disagree with his campaign finance and immigration "reform" efforts. And we've told him so face to face.

But it being, as once was written, a golden rule that one should never judge men by their opinions but rather by what their opinions make of them, it would be imprudent of us to allow our respectful differences to preclude our support.

Thus, we again today wholeheartedly endorse John McCain for president of the United States. For it really is time to stand up and fight."

One has to wonder at Sarah Palin's reluctance to publish her medical records. Could it be that she has something really serious to hide. Such as just maybe a teenage abortion? Imagine the political impact of that news if released at this very moment. To remove such ambiguity and quell such possibilities, she should go public right now - if she has the honesty.

mccain didn't himself or his party any good by tapping palin as his running mate.

her incompetence is staggering, as are her sophomoric philosophies: big oil should use science to find the oil, but not to assess its environmental impact and, if necessary, clean it up; when alaska redistributes wealth it's ok, when obama talks about it...; when her and her husband are part of a fringe separatist party, they are still patriots...

look the truth about this "whack job" is going to come out in the fullness of time.

no rational 40yr old woman has her water break (with a downs syndrome baby!) and then: gives a speech, flies from texas to alaska, then drives to some small town with lesser facilities to give birth.

Gosh, thecannula. If a newspaper owned by notorious GOP fundraiser and activist Richard Mellon Scaife won't endorse Obama, his campaign is clearly doomed. After all, no Democrat could possibly win Pennsylvania without the support of the Republican party.

Why, the only thing that could maybe soften this blow is if there was another newspaper in Pittsburgh, maybe one with more than twice the circulation, a couple of Pulitzers under their belts, and some copy editors who can actually spell, that did endorse Obama. Oh, wait! There is!

"Sen. Obama has counter-punched, but he has kept his dignity and focus. His eloquent grace and his commitment to speak directly to issues that matter to Americans -- ending the war in Iraq, bringing tax relief to the middle class -- have stamped him as presidential in both judgment and temperament.

His very presence on the campaign trail has refuted all the desperate slanders about him. He is what you thought he was: a decent, reasonable and intelligent American who is the only hope to bring real change. The Post-Gazette urges its readers to put their country first and vote for the Democratic ticket of Barack Obama and Joe Biden."

You betcha; Sarah is all about "open and transparent government". Please VOTE on Tuesday and send this right-wing attack dog home so she can face recall or impeachment.

OBAMA'S PERSONAL PHYSICIAN GAVE AN UNDATED ONE PAGE SUMMARY STATING THAT THE 47 YEAR OLD HEAVY SMOKER WAS "AOK"....SO WHAT'S YOUR POINT?

HERE'S MINE-

McCain Endorsed by Pittsburgh Tribune-Review 11/2/08

(Do you think Obama will get angry again and throw their reporter off the plane too?)

"Welcome to the 2008 presidential race. This nation's liberal elite and its predominantly liberal media have anointed as the next president Democrat Barack Obama, 47, the junior senator of Illinois.

The liberal tutorial is that Sen. Obama is a visionary, a man of hope, if not the political equivalent of the Second Coming. And a plurality of the student body appears to accept this at face value. But Obama has sparse political experience, no executive experience, no leadership experience, really, and woefully little experience at much of anything.

That is, other than rationalizing quite leftist and collectivist views that include everything from the worst of command economics -- sure to turn recession into depression -- to perverting the U.S. Constitution by making it and the Supreme Court some kind of rule-of-law relative social re-engineering tool.

Talk about manifest danger.

The only truly experienced leader in this race -- the gentleman whose resume actually is worthy of the phrase -- is John McCain, 72, war hero, former congressman and longtime U.S. senator of Arizona.

Why should she? Noboady else did, just letters of good health from their doctors.

Get over it. Leave her alone.

Gov. Palin never promised to release records -- she said "if" they are released -- besides, one week is still "sooner rather than later". By comparison, here in California, written discovery responses are generally due 30 days from service.

The only significance of Palin's medical records is that she said she'd release them, and didn't. That's just a flip-flop.

We'll have much bigger problems is she ever makes it to the oval office. How do I know. Watch this.

Click around the office on all the objects... open and close the door a few times.
