Army Secretary Geren to Step Down

By Ann Scott Tyson
Army Secretary Pete Geren will not remain in his position under an Obama administration, a senior Army official said on Monday.

Geren, a former Texas congressman, will stay on only until his successor is confirmed, the official said.

The Obama transition team has not yet named a replacement for Geren.

Geren assumed his position as head of the nation's largest military service in July 2007, after serving as acting secretary since March of that year. Defense Secretary Robert Gates had named him to replace then-Secretary Francis Harvey in the wake of the Walter Reed Army Medical Center outpatient care scandal.

After Obama announced he would keep Gates in his current position, transition officials indicated that more appointments of senior defense department personnel would be made before Christmas. Meanwhile, Pentagon officials said they understood the transition team would be making calls to some officials today, notifying them they should be prepared to leave on or around Jan. 20.

The “Secret of the Rosary Films” is offering a one million dollar reward for the certified long-form birth certificate of Barack Obama. The question remains whether The One is a "natural born" citizen and therefore legally qualified to become President of the United States.

Jake D - What the hell are you talking about?

I will gladly agree IF The One was born in the United States, he is a "natural born" citizen. Why won't he allow his LONG FORM birth certificate to be released so we can verify that?

Give it a rest already. He was born in the United States to an American mother. You can repeat the absurd accusation all you want but you can't undo his natural born citizenship.

The Obama transition team cannot legally name a replacement until Obama proves he is a "natural born" citizen qualified to become President of the United States.
