Illinois-Style Political Corruption

By Ben Pershing
The sun will rise over Chicago a few minutes from now, and as of this writing, no Illinois politicians have been arrested yet this morning. But it's still early.

As Jimmy Malone once put it, "That's the 'Chicago way,'" and much of the analysis of Rod Blagojevich's fall yesterday centers on the corruption that allegedly permeates the Windy City's genes. Perhaps it's simply the city's karma that produces a hero one day and a villain the next. Or maybe Blagojevich's behavior was unusually brazen, and dumb, even for this city.

As for the real characters that populate the town -- where's Sean Connery when you need him? -- Blagojevich himself does not plan to resign. May seem strange, until you remember that this guy thought, and still thinks, for all we know, that he would run for president. In fact, his lawyer suggests that this is no big deal, and, "A lot of this is just politics." What a depressing thought.

This isn't a stain on Obama, it is a stain on the individuals that reflects how minut their mindsets are and the hatred and envying people whom can't accept reality for what it really is. Which is the fact that Obama is the best elect and needs to be respected in that manner and those in opposition needs to stop wearing their hatred hearts on their sleeves and stop seeking avenues and channels catering to further destruct their future generations when all Obama and the majority wants is to perfect our nation and generations to come. You need to get a life or at least give your future generation a chance to inherit a better life. God Bless America!

Illinois-Style Political Corruption

Every city have a known style of political corruption. So what's up with the procrastination in Illinois. President Elect Obama already spoke on what should be done concerning the issue, have respect, I think his response was the best feedback and solution to rest the case. As goes the Nike slogan, "just do it", do just what Obama suggested and on with the more critical issues that our world really needs attention on. God Bless America!

Correction:

Rep. Brandon W. Phelps introduced the ethics bill about to go into effect in Illinois.

Obama contributed to ethics legislation in the US Senate.

Newagent99

Yes he did.

Read the transcript.

We're lucky that a bill Obama helped create to end ethics violations in Illinois was about to go into law. Fitzgerald sites this fact. And he says he was forced to stop what he called "A political corruption crime spree".

Yup, Obama is already helping to take out the garbage. I'm surprised you aren't glad to know that we'll soon have a president on the right side of the law.

That's change you can believe in.

This is a real personal stain on President-elect Obama. Imagine if this story had broken before the election...
