Obama's Return to Washington

By Philip Rucker
CHICAGO -- President-elect Barack Obama will fly to Washington this afternoon, where he will join his wife, Michelle, and their daughters at the historic Hay-Adams Hotel.

Obama is scheduled to leave his hometown of Chicago later today and arrive at Andrew's Air Force Base in the early evening. The president-elect has a busy week ahead, grappling with the heavy ground war in Gaza and meeting with congressional leaders to hammer out his massive economic stimulus plan.

His batteries recharged after a two-week Hawaiian vacation, Obama spent the last two days in Chicago, where he worked at his downtown transition office, got his hair cut and packed for the move to Washington.

Michelle Obama and their girls, Malia and Sasha, arrived in the capital on Saturday night so they would have time to settle in before the girls begin classes Monday morning at Sidwell Friends School.

There's also never been any question -- or even a hearsay statement -- that GWB wasn't born in the USA.

It may have to come to that (since the MSM like our very own WaPo refused to actually investigate and report the truth). BTW: the "hearsay" statement was by his own GRANDMOTHER!!

A hearsay statement is not enough grounds to demand that President-Elect Obama produce a birth certificate.

No one demanded that previous Presidents produce their birth certificates. How do we know that Barbara Bush didn't travel to Europe in 1946 to give birth? What evidence is there that Ann Obama traveled to Kenya in 1961?

If you still require that President-Elect Obama produce a birth Certificate, then get the United States Supreme Court to order it.

I will have no common ground with pResident Obama.

I can only hope that the incoming president will leave office with the country in much better shape than he will find it on Inauguration Day. And I pray we can find common ground in order to advance this country for the sake of all of our descendants, for now is the time we need to all grow up.

I am neither a racist nor hate-filled -- I am simply asking questions -- is it too much to seek compliance with the Constitutional Requirements to become President?

My "Meet the Press" comment was actually directed at Harry Reid seeking to DENY a black man his legal Senate seat.

I am really excited as we get ready for a new adminstration and delighted that negotiations with Congress are starting already. It was a long hard campaign. Now we need to come together as a nation behind our new leader. His success is in everybody's interest, and I think his sky-high approval ratings (of course inflated a bit by the honeymoon glow of any new leader) show that most people know that.

The rest, of course, continue to post random, hate-filled, sometimes racist, and generally peculiar ramblings on the Washington Post website.

Question for the copy editor: Where is "Andrew's" Air Force Base?

Did anyone else watch "Meet the Press" this morning?

Will the WaPo breathlessly report on Obama attending church services too (perhaps right across the street from The Hay-Adams)? This coverage is actually worse than during the election. Congrats!
