E-Mail System Running Again at the White House

By Michael D. Shear
White House e-mails are flowing again.

After stranding frustrated White House staffers without e-mail for nearly 24 hours, the West Wing servers came back to life early this morning.

E-mail began trickling in at about 7 a.m., and by 8:05 a.m. the "Daily Guidance" e-mail to the press had gone out, indicating that the normal flood of e-mails was set to begin.

The outage, which began at about 10 a.m. Monday, was apparently the result of a server failure, aides said Monday. It left the normally connected Obama administration suddenly cut off from the lifeblood of Washington.

But that lifeline was returned Tuesday -- for good or ill, as BlackBerrys suddenly came back to life, buzzing incessantly.

It was probably all those Whitehouse e-mails of the Bush administration that are out there in never-never land that they couldn't find that overwhelmed the system. Maybe everything is still going through the Republican National Committee. (This is intended to be a joke)

Wonder if Sniredly and the Limbaugh hackers ever got any of the Presidents e mails downloaded before they crashed the system???? Desperate measures by a desperate group of partisan patsies whose day is done. I wonder if they will revert to the methods they used on 11/22/63 to regain power or will they, like the old and obsolete soldiers they are, simply fade away? We can only hope and keep the President away from Dallas. Let little king george live out his delusions of grandure overlooking Dealey plaza with those rose colored glasses on!!!

So the Bushies hand over a decrepit barely functional e-mail system to the Obama. Just goes to show you. The Bush administration was all bark and no byte!

19th century ideology, 20th century policies, 21st century disaster.

Freeze the staff salary? Making less that most private industry for the same job? Bailout people getting a new jet. You wonder why the server crashed? Lucky to have any staff remaining to fix it.

SPEAKING OF GOVERNMENT "BUGS" IN THE SYSTEM...

NSA pervasive spying on citizens and journalists just the "baseline" for THIS?
