President Obama starts the day with his presidential and economic briefings, held at 9:15 a.m. and 9:45 a.m. respectively. He meets with senior advisers in the Oval Office at 10:00 a.m.
At 11:00 a.m., Obama sits down with Vermont Gov. Jim Douglas (R) in the Oval Office to discuss the economic stimulus plan.
In the afternoon, Obama and Vice President Joe Biden meet with Defense Secretary Robert Gates at the White House at 1:50 p.m. The president and vice president meet with congressional leaders at 4:45 p.m. in the Roosevelt Room to discuss the economic stimulus package the Senate is considering this week.
White House press secretary Robert Gibbs holds the daily press briefing at 1:30 p.m.
