White House Kitchen to Give Local Students a Tutorial
By DeNeen L. Brown
First lady Michelle Obama plans to open up the White House kitchen to students from a local culinary arts program on Sunday afternoon, just hours before the planned National Governors' Association Dinner.
Social Secretary Desiree Rogers, White House Chef Cristeta Comerford and White House Pastry Chef William Yosses will discuss the menu, the White House announced last night.
"In a continuing effort to open the White House up to the community, Mrs. Obama has invited students from the Culinary Arts Program and the Pastry Arts Program at the L'Academie de Cuisine" in Gaithersburg "to learn more about the culinary preparations involved in hosting events at the White House," the first lady's office said in a statement.
