Obama Settles on 3 More Senior Officials for Treasury

By Philip Rucker
President Obama today announced his intent to nominate three senior officials to the Treasury Department, filling in more of the top ranks under Secretary Timothy F. Geithner.

Helen E. Garrett, an economist and lawyer who serves as vice president for academic planning and budget at the University of Southern California, will become assistant secretary for tax policy, the White House announced. Garrett, who was a member of President George W. Bush's 2005 bipartisan tax reform advisory panel, is a former professor at the University of Chicago Law School and clerked for the late Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall.

Obama has tapped Michael S. Barr, an adviser to former Treasury secretary Robert E. Rubin during the Clinton administration, as assistant secretary for financial institutions. A senior fellow at the Center for American Progress and the Brookings Institution, Barr has researched and written about a range of financial regulation issues.

George W. Madison is Obama's pick for general counsel at Treasury. Madison is a former executive vice president and general counsel at TIAA-CREF who previously held senior executive positions at Comerica Inc. A lawyer, Madison was a partner at Mayer, Brown and Platt in New York, where he practiced banking and finance law on behalf of foreign and domestic money center banks.

"The Treasury Department will be well-served by the expertise and commitment of these fine individuals," Obama said in a statement. "Under the leadership of Secretary Geithner, I have great confidence that they will be valuable and effective additions to our team as we tackle our nation's economic challenges."

INNOCENT BUT TARGETED.

Google it.

YOU -- or someone close to you -- could be the next victim.

Unless Team Obama -- especially AG Holder, SecDef Gates, SecDHS Napolitano, SecTreas Geithner -- takes down the draconian Bush-Cheney extra-legal "torture matrix"...

...an array of secret "programs of personal financial destruction" and government-funded vigilante "community stalking"...

...coupled with the proliferation of mind- and body-degrading "directed energy" microwave radiation weapons -- the Zyklon-B of a grassroots, government-enabled American Gestapo.

Attorney General Holder, you must act NOW to restore human and civil rights in America.

Before the naivete of liberals empowers the saboteurs and Dr. Strangeloves who say "No!" to change.

A friend of the daughter of Vice President Joseph Biden is attempting to hawk a videotape that he claims shows Ashley Biden snorting cocaine at a house party this month in Delaware.

Why doesn't the Post run this story? It is running on Drudge Report. Obummer should've vetted Biden's family a little better. The media has been all over Palin's daughter and said that Palin didn't know how to raise kids. How about Biden with his little druggie daughter? Hypocrites much?
