About That Puppy...

The wait for a puppy by two young sisters who live on Pennsylvania Avenue continues.
Their dad, President Obama, told Jay Leno on the "Tonight Show" last month that as soon as he returned from his whirlwind trip to Europe, "the dog will be in place." But now the president has returned, and the dog isn't coming this week, according to a White House spokeswoman.
Trying to nudge some information out of the first lady's office, we asked spokeswoman Semonti Mustaphi if a press release would be issued in the event the Easter Bunny delivers an Easter puppy to the White House this Sunday morning.
"Ha! I think that is the most creative way a reporter has asked me for dog information," Mustaphi joked in an e-mail. "I think the Easter Bunny has enough on its mind preparing for the upcoming White House Easter Egg Roll."

Obama talks too much and if he keeps up his rhetorical pace he will end up being viewed as a windbag.

If so someone should mention that it is a bad example. The ASPCA discourages giving young animals for Easter (particularly rabbits and chicks). Admittedly an expected puppy isn't in the same class, but they could pick a better time as an example.

As the closest labradoodle neighbor to the White House we are very excited about the next FIRST DOG. We HOPE our lobbying efforts have paid off: www.labradoodlesforobama.com and that the First Family unleashes a labradoodle on the South Lawn soon.

I love dogs, but given all that is listed under 'important' and is relevant to our survival as a nation, the topic of dogs for the White House...is just boring/uninteresting.
When the dog arrives, surely a mention is appropriate, but why the obsession?
