POTUS Events: Off to Iowa

President Obama heads to Iowa with Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack around 10 a.m. Shortly after noon CDT, Obama makes his first stop in the Hawkeye State to Trinity Structural Towers in Newton, once the main hub of the failed company Maytag that assembled parts for washers and dryers. The new plant is home to a green manufacturing facility that produces wind energy.
Following his tour, Obama is expected to deliver remarks on his energy plan. His address is slated for 1:00 p.m. CDT. He returns to Washington in the early evening.
White House press secretary Robert Gibbs will hold a gaggle aboard Air Force One en route to Des Moines in the morning rather than deliver his routine press briefing in Washington.
