Biden: Pirate Situation Getting Around the Clock Attention
Politico's Carol Lee was the pool reporter today for an Eisenhower Executive Office Building event with Vice President Biden about stimulus funds in which he also addressed the capture of a U.S. container ship captain by Somali pirates. Her report follows:
Asked at the end of his comments what the US was going to do about the pirates off of the Somali coast, VPOTUS opened his mouth to respond, when an aide shouted, "This way guys, out that door." He closed his mouth and put his head down for a second.
But then he answered, even as the aide said again, "This way guys, out..."
"We're not going to settle that here," VPOTUS said.
"Thank you," aide shouted in attempt to get pool to leave.
"I think what you should do is contact Jim Jones and the White House," VPOTUS continued. "This is being worked on around the clock since this happened. I'm not in a position right now (to comment)," he said.
"Thanks everybody!" an aide shouted.
Pool was ushered out of the room.
