Obama to Address Muslim World From Egypt

Updated 4:15 p.m.
By Anne E. Kornblut
President Obama will make his promised speech to the Muslim world from Egypt, a White House official said on Friday.

Obama pledged during the campaign to address the Muslim world from a Muslim capital within the first few months of taking office. Picking a site proved challenging for a range of reasons -- from diplomacy to security -- and the decision took longer than expected, with Obama commissioning options from a research team.

Having settled on Egypt, the White House today announced that he is adding a stop there to his early June overseas trip. That trip will also take him to Normandy, France, for the anniversary of D-Day, and to the Buchenwald concentration camp and Dresden, Germany.

Choosing Egypt will inevitably bring comparisons with a major speech that then-Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice gave in Cairo 2005, urging democracy and reform in the Middle East.

In that speech, Rice specifically urged the Egyptian government to "put its faith in its own people," calling on Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak to end violent attacks on pro-democracy demonstrators, stop "arbitrary justice" and lift emergency decrees allowing the police to break up gatherings of more than five people. She also made similar demands on Saudi Arabia, another close U.S. ally. However, Rice tempered her comments by saying the United States had "every reason for humility" because of its history of slavery and racism.

Mubarak, who will meet with Obama at the White House later this month, was so angered by the democracy push that he did not make his annual spring visit to Washington for all of Bush's second term. The Obama administration, in its budget released this week, has already loosened restrictions imposed by Bush to ensure some U.S. aid went to democracy groups not approved by the Egyptian authorities.

PAKISTAN, AFGHANISTAN and INDIA represent about 20% of the world's Muslim population.

OBAMA fuels international tensions in this explosive area. Read the report which was posted today by Peter Symonds:

What does OBAMA have to say about this issue in Cairo next month?

Hey commonsense...

Your ignorant and you have been duped!
I will pay you $1,000,000 if you give me a link to Barack Obama's birth certificate...
You cant!
The only thing you have seen is a Hawaii COLB and it has already been discredited. Typical liberal know it all, jokes on him.

Will be surprised if he doesn't bash America in this speech also. Seems every time he opens his mouth overseas it is to bash not build up America. He is our President not some writer. His job is to build us up not tear us down, mistakes happen in policy but this is not the right way. And please do not bow down to another ruler Presidents don't bow unless you happen to be praying to God.

OBAMA'S comments to the muslim world, "YES WE CAN". "CHANGE IS COMMING"

Posted by: pafaery | May 11, 2009 8:16 AM

A few of my comments which were posted yesterday have not been put online yet, but I will continue posting some relevant reports on the MEN BEHIND OBAMA.

Reader "D-Of-G" has made a good point, America does have the largest library in the world, but only 10% of the population can spend their precious time to consult this source of information.

THEY PREFER TO WATCH VIDEO REPORTS.

I have one which I saw a few months ago. It was re-posted recently because of the unfolding developments in Afghanistan and Pakistan. You may be able to listen to a strong VOICE of a prophetic interview which was recorded, historian WEBSTER TARPLEY shows what the men behind Obama are preparing....to face the Muslims in Central Asia and South Asia. WATCH THIS VIDEO:

http://www.voltairenet.org/article158865.html#article158865

I do hope that my comments are approved and that dozens of 'concerned' americans may be able to watch and listen to the VOICE of Webster Tarpley. Tens of thousands of lives of Muslims, Christians and Jews are at stake! OBAMA HAS TO LISTEN TO THIS VOICE, BEFORE HIS SPEECH IN CAIRO.

America has the largest library in the world, and the largest population of uninformed egocentrics. We just can't seem to be able to make a point without having to personally put someone else down in the process. We voted for "change", and that's what we are getting. The president is just a man. He can't wave a magic wand, and correct conditions that were decades in the making. So let us stop being spoiled children, and take some responsiblity as citizens. And if one thinks that they can do better than Obama, run for president in 2012. Show the world what you're made of besides sitting safely in front a computer, spewing unproductive diatribes into cyberspace.

While there, I wonder if he will get pointers on how to silence those that disagree with him and his policies and if he intends to pray with them? He seemed to ignore our prayer day!

I'll try to post these lines and observe if they are retained online.

Before president Obama makes his speech in Cairo, he should read this in-depth report which was posted in October 2001.

I read with interest the report that president Obama will make an important speech in Cairo next month. The most serious problem for the United States today are Afghanistan and Pakistan. Peop to forget what happened in thes two countries during the past eighteen centuries,,,,what the British army had to face in the early 1830s, the Russian army in the 1980s and the US army during the past eight years!
Before making his speech, president Obama should read an excellent in-depth report on the Taliban, written by Peter Symonds, it was posted in October 2001. Here is the title, search for the URL via Google:

"The Taliban, the U.S. and the resources of Central Asia +Peter Symonds"

The readers of this extensive report will learn a lot about the complex situation in Afghanistan and Pakistan today....America's greatest challenge in the XXI century. There are hundreds of millions of Muslims in Central Asia, South Asia and South East Asia.

Since Egypt is in Africa. I would be totally angered is Obama says nothing to the effects of Islamic Extreemism in Sudan!

How many people live in tents?
How many women raped?
How long have they waited for help?

Whats up Obama?

I think the world is giving the Chicago thug street organizer way too much credit here. He may be a constutional lawyer and a GQ runway model, but he lacks alot of common sense. I don't see him as the President of the United States, and that's fine, I think he sees himself as potential ruler of the world. Imagine if all your life you sought power, and then one day you got that power. It would be very difficult to keep that power in check with the type of ego Obama has. The most disturbing thing is the platitudes he feeds to the American taxpayers of this country, all the while rolling out the red carpet to the terrorists of the world. I'll check back in four years and see if there's anything left of my country.

djfeiger,

Enough with the "Jewish" victim play. Last time I checked, Jews were quite successful as a race/religion around the world and have their own state.

Every human being should feel sorry about the Holocaust. But it doesn't mean that for eternity, Jews can rape the world and hide behind this historical tragedy.

time for peace and prosperity for ALL mankind, not just the chosen people!

(You can see easily find copies of his birth certificate on line)

Geez! I wish people would get this out of their heads.

The public has never seen an Obama birth cerificate.

Not so. What the State of Hawaii stated was,
“Therefore, I as Director of Health for the State of Hawai‘i, along with the Registrar of Vital Statistics who has statutory authority to oversee and maintain these type of vital records, have personally seen and verified that the Hawai‘i State Department of Health has Sen. Obama’s original birth certificate on record in accordance with state policies and procedures.”
There is nothing there that states the birth certificate Hawaii holds was issued by Hawaii; there is nothing there that states the State of Hawaii holds AKA’s “Hawaii birth certificate.”
It is very obvious, in reading the statement of the Director of Health, that this statement was very carefully worded, which leaves the inquiring mind asking why.

In response to "nqobizita" who stated that " HALLOOO America is just another country on Earth. etc...", how sad that one feels this way. I can only attribute it to ignornance in not understanding the history of our world. America has been the defender of the suffering, the persecuted, the poor.

We send literally BILLIONS of dollars around the world for aid, for disease, for food. We have fought for the lives of foreign innocents, we have WELCOMED legal aliens and different religions and allowed them to worship freely here in our formerly Christian based free land.

Once again, the US uses these "Aid Dollars" in an attempt to force countries to accept that their way is the only way. Unless you consider the country an Ally, like Israel. But how many of your Allies told Bush to stuff it. They wouldn't share info because the US tortured people. And as for being accepting of other religions, only if they conform to what the "Christian" American community says is right. After all, haven't you removed the rights of some religions to have multiple wives?

If you accept that he is a Kenyan muslim this all makes a lot more sense.

And it also behooves us to remember that many Kenyans hate the British, and whites in general, because of colonial rule and this explains quite a bit more (including returning Churchill's bust, the cheap gifts for British dignitaries) - about the person with questionable loyalties who nevertheless somehow got into the position of POTUS.

Posted by: JWhite2 | May 8, 2009 10:29 PM

Didn't Obama already address the Muslim world from Turkey? The Obama administration is breaking America's pledges to Israel and promoting an anti Israel line that denies history. The 40 year American commitment to ignore the Israeli nuclear potential which has limited conflicts and prevented others has now be dashed as has the the reliability of the US as an alley not only to the Government and People of Israel but the entire free world. When N Korea launched it's satellite the US said that it would shoot down the rocket if it approached Hawaii or Alaska. The Japanese are rethinking their entire defense posture for being left out of yet another promise broken by this reckless group of amateurs that have destabilized the entire world.
Egypt has just been attacked by Iran. It has had Hezbullah establish a cell in Egypt to overthrow Mubarak. This while the US is falsely accusing Israel of being the cause of all Mideast conflict and trying to from a grand coalition to isolate Israel and have it commit suicide. Antisemitism is accepted in the media, in blog comments, and this administration. The Killing of a Jewish Co ed a Wesleyan University by a killer who planned a Jewish Columbine was barely reported. A university under lock down. Jewish Institutions and Synagogues closed. A community in fear and nothing in the press or media except a blurp he and there. This at a time of ultra media hype on anything. Jews in America are as disposable as those in Israel. Arab hate and lies are accepted as those of Germany under Nazism. Wake Up It's 1939 but this time the Jews will fight the hypocrites of hate, racism and lies.

I personally am not particulary concerned about the "Muslim world's" view of the U.S. Over the last 50 years, we've seen the agenda of their most conservative spokesmen as being at odds with Western secular society. Admittedly, Islam is not a monolithic entity and I'd love it if we could "live and let live", but it appears to me the negative image of Muslim countries portrayed in the media comes less from any "Islamophobia" on the part of infidels than from the actions and statements of Muslim fundamentalists and clerics themselves.

We may indeed have some apologizing to do to the rest of the world, but it's a two-way street. The oppression of religious minorities and women in Muslim majority countries has been documented time and time again. Perhaps a better approach is to expect a little give and take; I think that Obama's open-ended overtures are misguided at best.

The core texts of Islam, the Koran, Hadith and Sunnah, call for the subjugation of all peoples to rule of Islam. As interpreted by the "leadership" of conservative Islam these goals stand in direct contradiction of the secular guarantees of freedom under our Constitution.

I appreciate Mr. Obama's desire to normalize relations with Muslim majority countries; he must demand, however, that these countries show better progress in the area of human rights in exchange.

An Islamic state far less stable than Iran already has multiple nuclear weapons. It's called Pakistan where the government that protects them grows weaker every week. If there's going to be a Jihadist's bomb it is likely to come from Pakistan, not Iran. But of course you would rather not look.

"In pursuit of a "Mideast Nuclear-Free Zone" in which the world can live happily ever after, will Obama now, in effect, echo the propaganda of Iranian officials — that no one should complain about Iran having nukes since Israel has them?
The open secret of Israel's nuclear deterrent has existed for more than 40 years. It has constituted a danger to no one — in fact, it has prevented full-scale conventional wars in the Middle East.
A nuclear-armed Iran, on the other hand, would mean weapons of mass destruction in the hands of jihadists who'd like to see Tel Aviv, London, and Washington, go up in mushroom clouds.

i do not trust barack obama... he is too hellbent on helping out the enemies of te united states and too eager to cut any programs that keeps this country safe:

he wants money cut from detecting bombs in out harbors.

he wants to cut death benefits for our Police Officers' families.

he wants our VETS to pay their own health insurance.

he wants to cut money from the DEFENSE BUDGET in a time or war.

he's claiming we need to cut expenses but he authorizes a $300,000+ plane ride in the sky just to take a picture? IS ANYONE BUYING THAT? OR WAS HE GETTING BETTER INTELLIGENCE TO PASS ON TO OUR ENEMIES?

Westerners may be stupid, but Hamas is not. It sees the new American Obama administration making overtures to Iran and Syria. It sees Europe, led by Britain, beginning to accept Hezbollah. It sees itself as next in line. And it knows what to do. Yasser Arafat wrote the playbook.

Meshal sees the opportunity. Not only is the Obama administration reaching out to its former enemies in the region, but it begins its term by wagging an angry finger at Israel over the Netanyahu government's ostensible refusal to accept a two-state solution.

The Palestinians already have a state, an independent territory with not an Israeli settler or soldier living on it. It's called Gaza. And what is it? A terror base, Islamist in nature, Iranian-allied, militant and aggressive, that has fired more than 10,000 rockets and mortars at Israeli civilians.

If this is what a West Bank state is going to be, it would be madness for Israel or America or Jordan or Egypt or any other moderate Arab country to accept such a two-state solution.

Meshal's gambit to dress up perpetual war as a two-state peace is yet another iteration of the Palestinian rejectionist tragedy. In its previous incarnation, Arafat lulled Israel and the Clinton administration with talk of peace while he methodically prepared his people for war.

Arafat waited seven years to tear up his phony peace. Meshal's innovation? Ten — then blood.

WHEN OBAMA GOES TO JAPAN WILL HE VISIT ONLY HIROSHIMA AND NAGASAKI? AMERICANS SHOULD DREAD OBAMA'S TRIP TO DRESDEN. THIS IS WHY AND WHAT CAN HE SAY THERE?
The Bombing of Dresden by the British Royal Air Force (RAF) and United States Army Air Force (USAAF) between 13 February and 15 February 1945, twelve weeks before the surrender of the Armed Forces (Wehrmacht) of Nazi Germany, remains one of the most controversial Allied actions of the Second World War. The raids saw 1,300 heavy bombers drop over 3,900 tons of high-explosive bombs and incendiary devices in four raids, destroying 13 square miles (34 km2) of the city, the baroque capital of the German state of Saxony, and causing a firestorm that consumed the city centre.[2] Estimates of civilian casualties vary greatly, but recent publications place the figure between 24,000 and 40,000.
A 1953 United States Air Force report written by Joseph W. Angell defended the operation as the justified bombing of a military and industrial target, which was a major rail transportation and communication centre, housing 110 factories and 50,000 workers in support of the German war effort. Against this, several researchers have argued that not all of the communications infrastructure, such as the bridges, were in fact targeted, nor were the extensive industrial areas outside the city centre. It has been argued that Dresden was a cultural landmark of little or no military significance, a "Florence on the Elbe," as it was known, and the attacks were indiscriminate area bombing and not proportional for the commensurate military gains.[6][7]
In the first few decades after the war, some death toll estimates were as high as 250,000. However, figures in the regions of hundreds of thousands are considered disproportionate. Today's historians estimate a death toll of between 24,000 and 40,000, with an independent investigation commissioned by the city itself stated that around 18,000 victims had been identified and that the estimated total number of fatalities was around 25,000. Post-war discussion of the bombing includes debate by commentators and historians as to whether or not the bombing was justified, and whether or not its outcome constituted a war crime. Nonetheless, the raids continue to be included among the worst examples of civilian suffering caused by strategic bombing, and have become one of the moral causes célèbres of the Second World War"
Hat in hand to apologize or just looking to buy some China for the White House, or just plain dumb?

Appeasing the Jihadists with a mea culpa and apology from the United States will gag most Americans and only bring contempt from our implacable enemies. Neville Chamberlain tried it with Hitler and Hitler called him a "worm"
Having settled on Egypt, the White House today announced that he is adding a stop there to his early June overseas trip. That trip will also take him to Normandy, France, for the anniversary of D-Day, and to the Buchenwald concentration camp and Dresden, Germany.
Good choices except why Dresden. Mea Culpa for WWII bombings there?

He can find time to go to Egypt, to address the Muslim world, but he can't find the time to host the National Prayer Breaksfast from his own White House. I guess it would have cost too much.

Why? To preserve the USA like a patriot? NO!!!!!! To fill the pockets of their puppet masters and die in the wars to make them richer and more powerful.

Peaceful democracies are difficult to manipulate. There must be constant war. And to have constant war, you need huge heaps of imbeciles who cannot tell right from wrong. And to create these idiots, you need a news channel that creates all the ideologues you see on the thread and myriad others.

And believe me when I say that Rupert Murdock is no American Patriot. Nor Bush. Nor Cheyne. These are all neocons along with Bill Kristol and every other bloodsucker who steals people's souls like a powerful parasite.

Obama is not kissing up to the Muslims, he is simply doing what he said he would do during his campaign. That is, to restore relations with countries that disagree with us and often hate us.

This is one of the things we voted him in to do. Apparently the people who want to tear him down forget that he was elected by a majority of the people.

If this is not your style then in four years you can vote against him. In the meanwhile lets support him and hope he succeeds. If he screws it up I'll vote him out along with you.

Where does this christian machismo come from? This is the game of politics boys. Foreign Policy and Diplomacy, it is a skill I believe you are failing to realize.

Also there is nothing wrong with Islam, check it out bro...look into Abrahimic faiths, you guys are one in the same.

What we have problems with are cultural aspects of societies that practice islam such as beheading and stoning. But at the end of the day is that any different from the electric chair, lethal injection, or life behind bars? Death is death, we in america feel we do it in a more humane way.

What blows my mind is the absolute belief and confidence we place in our ideas as Americans. There are other ways of living and viewing the world, lets learn about them and have dialogue. Why is disengagement and war your answer? Help me understand please.

Under the new rules, MORE of your tax dollars will be turned over in aid to oppressive dictatorships, and NONE of that aid money will support the democratic activists struggling against the dictators. And the Post clearly considers this a much more satisfactory arrangement.

ahhh---------the RIGHTeous wing's fear of a nonwhite planet, whose majority is coming into its own, as expressed in the preceding emails.

in particular, by 2050, the very children of those whom you persecute in this country today for crossing borders that were set up after their land, on our side of tthat border, was stolen ----- they will be a majority.

for those who have trouble with this prospect, i can only say: get used to it. these people and your children will probably create a social order where they will look back in time to today and say: what silly ancestors we had!!!

This oughta be fun ... how low do you think he can bow to a foreign Muslim King this time, and how much more denigrating of the United States does he have planned??

I'm nauseous just thinking about it, angry, and embarrassed that he calls himself a citizen of this country.

Arabs have good food in general. Obama should have a nice meal while he's in Egypt. The people are very hospitable, even to Americans.

Obama's been dealt a bad hand. Who knew the economy would implode? At least he's not GW. That will always make him a plus in my book. Even if he turns out to be a total **** up, he still won't be GW.

Yay!!!!!

I love that the first thing I saw when I went to washingtonpost.com was the photo of Obama and a story about how we're going to talk to the Muslim world instead of (or at least in addition to) blowing their countries to bits. The good news and positive direction for our country continues, with something new and wonderful every day. I'm so thankful to every American who voted to make this possible.

Reading some of these comments is completely embarrassing to our country and other human beings that may live abroad. I can’t believe the level of hate, ignorance and down out right arrogance coupled with stupidity; that some of your comments suggest.

It is high time that America has a statesman in office. Presently, our country is engaged in two wars. Our children, husbands and wives are dying in foreign lands; for what? Because George Bush says we must, please.

Most of you writing comments on here don’t even know what terrorism is. I bet most of you can’t even tell me what it means.

Our president is making an outstanding decision to speak to a people who have no leadership, no statesman to speak for them. He is telling these people that our fight is not with them, but with a bunch of alpha-males who are hell-bent on having their way of life for the masses.

What people on earth wants to live everyday knowing that some nut might blow them up, because of their religious or political beliefs? We as American’s should know what hate can do to a people, what it does to a country. It wasn’t too long ago we were killing each other simply for another man’s riches.

Terrorist feed off your fear. Reading these comments suggest a nation of fearful people. There are five principles/goals that these alpha-males live by. (SEE BELOW)

President Obama has only been in office 4 months, and most of you are acting like spoiled brats, calling for him to do more or less in some cases. For our nation to succeed in these wars, and to provide leadership to a hostile planet, I believe we should speak and/or promote freedom!

If you take the time to lookup terrorism, and find out what it means; you may understand better what our president is trying to succeed in.

1. Violence – terrorists use violence – we are engaged in two wars.

2. Psychological impact and fear – our nation has spent billions on protecting our interest.

3. Perpetrated for a political goal - we have completely changed our federal infrastructure.

4. Deliberate targeting of non-combatants – homicidal bombers.

5. Disguise – you never know who might be a terrorist.

Anyway, before you post ignorant comments and believe that you know what you are talking about, how’s about READING the subject matter first.

It's called "Separation of Church and State" you can look it up sometime, it's in the constitution.

=================================================================

Actually, it's not, which you would have known had you yourself looked it up. The only two references to religion in the Constitution (it's capitalized) are in Article VI and the First Amendment, and neither time is it in the context of separation. Article VI bans a religious test as a qualification for public office, and the First Amendment prevents government from establishing a national religion or restricting/prohibiting the free exercise of religion.

The "Separation" mantra stems from a letter Thomas Jefferson wrote in 1802, 15 years after the adoption of the Constitution and 11 years after the ratification of the Bill of Rights. It was private letter he wrote in response to a plea from the Danbury Baptist Association.

You know it is strange he refuses to honor national prayer day in The United States of America, but he will kiss the hand of a Saudi King. He say we do not considedr ourselves a Christian nation. Well our Constitution and our laws are based upon christian principles from the Christian Bible. Not the koran or anyother document. He has defamed our country everywhere he has gone and still has not proved he is a legal American Citizen by producing his birth certificate. A certificate of live birth doesn't cut the mustard. He will probably pray at a Mosque and who knows what else while he is there. And this is the great savior of the Democratic party. To call him the destroyer of civilizations would be more accurate. It will be intersting after he is kicked out of office as to what will be revealed about him and his time in the White House. The sooner he is gone the better. He makes Jimmey (Peanut) Carter look almost American. GOD Bless American and perserve us in this time of need.

Oh boy. Once the self appointed messiah speaks, I can imagine what the muslim terrorists will do, just because they will love us.
Al qaeda and the taliban will stack arms and withdraw from Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq, Somalia and all the other little nests they are building. Hamas will become the ACORN of the middle east, and the other terrorist groups will start collective farms so they can support themselves, while becoming "friends" with the west.
The arrogant a$$ hole in the White House will no doubt wow them. He certainly isn't wowing anyone here, but he is doing more damage to our economy, and our security than all those terrorist groups combined.
What an embarrassing, incompetent joke Obama is.

Does Obama have permission from his Zionist Masters to talk honestly with Muslim world?
Has Obama discussed with his Zionist Maters what he is going to say to the Muslim world from the Muslim capital city of Cairo in brutal dictatorship regime of Egypt whom America has been paying for decades not to attack Israel? Why he has not chosen Tehran which is more Democratic in the entire Middle Eastern Region; because they allow women in Universities and in higher government jobs? Is he going to tell the Muslim world he is proposing an end to the human genocide being done in Palestine since 1948 by America’s preferred friend rather Masters the murderer Zionist controlled state Israel? Is Obama going to talk about “Right of Return” of Palestinian refugees to their place of origin which is enshrined in 4 separate bodies of international law: humanitarian law, human rights law, the law of nationality as applied to state succession and refugee law? Is Obama going to criticize Israel’s brutal military occupation of Gaza, West Bank and East Jerusalem; which is the most persistent military occupation on the earth for the last 61 years? Is he going to promise the Muslim world that he will implement the Oslo accord crafted by his own party’s Bill Clinton in 1993 giving these areas for the formation of State of Palestine? If Obama can not talk about these things than he like his predecessors is not at all interested in Peace with the Muslim world. Obama must understand American peace process with Muslim world start with the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Palestinian Land and complete halt to human genocide by Israelis. Dear President Obama don’t waste tax payers money and don’t try to make fool of the Muslim world if you can not control a tiny failed state of Israel to pull out of Palestinian Land for the sake of world peace.

For what good it might do, a collection of thought-provoking statements from this board:

• For all the Muslims held in our torture camps there is but one road to freedom: To accept Jesus Christ as their personal lord and savior.
• What reason would the USA PRESIDENT be promising a speech to muslims---unless could he be a muslim hisself?
• His true faith is finally starting to show. Watch for the introduction of Shia Law,
• If he speaks out against the United States it is treason and he should be tried for the same!!!!!!
• Head shot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
• Isn't the Pope kissing the be-hinds of the Muslims enough for one year?
• obama should move in with the muslems
• Unsurprisingly Obama, the POS, is then going on to Europe for the D-Day celebration where he has made it know that he intends on apologizing to the Nazis for the suffering we inflicted on them during WWII.

This got stirred up because some don't want the President - or anyone else for that matter - apologizing to anyone for our country and its history. That's my opinion. I'm entitled to that opinion. You all have a right to yours. But, there is no middle ground anymore. So, some started name calling and some started talking about violence. What a shame! Democrat - Republican, Left - Right, Black - White. It doesn't matter the issue. If someone disagrees, they'll be branded extremist or hate monger or some other crazy moniker like “Tin Foil Hat wearing Neocon Fascists.” Truly unbelievable.

Another circle-jerk for the leftist idiots the world over when B Hussein goes to countries where Christians are harassed , dissidents are jailed, homosexuals are killed, and women are beaten and killed for improper conduct to RUN down America and its people. Who needs enemies when we have a President who so clearly hates this country more that any of those thugs in the Middle East could think of hating us?

Unsurprisingly Obama, the POS, is then going on to Europe for the D-Day celebration where he has made it know that he intends on apologizing to the Nazis for the suffering we inflicted on them during WWII.

Decent people have got to be wonder what the brave men who stormed those gray shores under the guns of the Nazis to free the continent from the conquering Germans would think to know that less than a century later, an "American" would be there running down America and their descendents as well as them, groveling to the very scum who had conquered Europe, imprisoned and murdered millions and were mowing down their comrades by the thousands.

Leftist are not only the stupidest people on the earth but also the vilest!

I imagine to Jesus, Muslims are like the Samaritans - the people whom the early Hebrews loved to hate? Yes, Americans need to understand that we CAN overcome our hatred, become kinder and more loving, and even learn to love those whom we love to hate. The more we learn and understand peoples of other countries and other faiths, the more we find that there is really very little difference between us. Different viewpoints? Yes. But we LEARN those - they are not scientifically proved beliefs! If we were born in Iran, or Iraq, WE'D be Muslim!!! Or in Tel Aviv? Jewish!

You're a complete idiot! With morons like you and Obama, radical Islam will rule the world! It never was the "Muslim world" until they took it by the sword and keep it and those they rule in line by force. Muhammad (the pedofile) said "I have been made victorious through terror" and it's true. Now they're just invading your countries (I assume your European) legally and outbreeding all of you. Eventually a "free Europe" will cease to exist. If you're a Muslim, just try and leave your barbaric religion and see what happens to you. You are not free, you're a slave to false religion who's real leader is the devil. You treat women like cattle or worse. If there are moderate muslims, they're silent and afraid to stand up to the radicals. Therefore, they will fall in line too! This religion is a disaster for the world and "submitting" to it like Obama is doing will only make it worse and them more bold! There is NO country in the WORLD that even comes close! Go to Egypt and see what Freedom you have. See if they will give you a job. See if they will let you worship as you please. What is really sad is the way America has been demonized of late. And too many ignorant followers pile on. Are we perfect? NO WAY! We have messed up plenty. But "just another country"? Better go to the library and check out a few American History books - while you still can - before they become too offensive and politically incorrect...

Good news that mister Obama is speaking in egypt- hopefully his qualified secretary
of state will be on his side.
I wish both of them luck in their mission
to make peace in the region.
Even so I cant judge how much they really are in controll.
What happens in pakistan right now is only a signal what alos might happen in egypt very soon. Egypt is already since quit a while a coocking melting pot and fare away from being democratic.
Social problems and realy democratic enforcment in within a well working justice system should be pushed foreward
because poorness opens doors to extremists.
It seems year 2009 might become under political aspect much more difficult and I
ve got somehow the impression that even soo recent governement shows more diplomatic aproach to int. problems there seem to exist a lot of people who try to warm up things under and make conflicts in the area bigger.
Those persons dont care about religions or countries- just about keeping the fire on between sheeps who need to fight each other that money can be make.
We are all only sheeps in their eyes and it might be the best kick bag to set a sign and screw their goals and proove that sheeps can be brothers and sisters and can live as peacefull neighbours.

When I read some of these comments it floors me as to how much ignorance and racism there is out there. I'm Jewish, yet I know that not all Muslims are evil. Yes, some Muslims are teaching hate in their schools, and obviously (from reading these posts) plenty of Americans have hate in their hearts. It's time to start reaching out and learning about each other's culture. It's only through understanding will we ever have peace.

And for the record, Obama is NOT Muslim and was born in the US. (You can see easily find copies of his birth certificate on line) But for the sake of argument what if he were Muslim? Just because someone is one religion doesn't mean he agrees with anyone and everyone of that religion. It wouldn't make him a traitor or a bad person.

peacefull2008, I think your analysis is spot on; however, we don't live in a world where pragmatism is the normal standard of political evaluation. If the President gave a speech in Tehran, his political adversaries would take the opportunity to use the issue and make the focus of the 2010 midterm elections his "conciliatory" stance on terrorism: unfortunately the Bush Doctrine has alienated Iran from the geopolitical order.

The true irony is that Saudi Arabia does more to spread terrorism and anti western sentiment than any other Muslim country. And as you accurately pointed out, women are more empowered in Iran than virtually any other Muslim country with the possible exception of Turkey.

Speaking for all the American people, the U.S. President Obama will tell the Muslim world that they are not the enemy of the U.S. people and we want to be friends with them. Obama will say the majority of the Muslim Islam people are good people and the U.S. want to accommodate them. U.S. already has many Islamic people and they are growing in the U.S.A. "America must be at peace with the Islamic world..."

Let's see, who was it that bombed our embassies, Marine barracks, the Cole, World Trade tower the first time, and then again on 9/11/01? I don't believe it was the Irish, Swedes, Danes, Dutch, Italians, ...ad infinitum. Let me guess, hmmm, was it really Muslims? How could that be...it has been denied enough times by apologists on the Communist, and liberal left.

When was the last time any Islamic leader vociferously attacked those 'renegades', and stopped the teaching of hatred for the West in their children's schools?

Does this fall under the concept of tell a lie enough times, and it will become a truth?

Oh, yes, we must be at peace... If the shoe fits, wear it!

Posted by: edible11 | May 8, 2009 3:21 PM

Gracious. Such angst. Since Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world, how about learning something about the peoples who follow its tenets, rather than immediately assuming they must (1) all be terrorists or, (2) be all "bad" and therefore feared, because they don't always see things the way we in the west do. How come you think North Americans are the only peoples that were given the one and only "right" way to view the world? Viva la difference!

Will Netanyahu be writing the peech?

Netanyahu: Israel will never withdraw from Golan
By Barak Ravid, Haaretz Correspondent

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told a group of Russian-language reporters Thursday that Israel will never withdraw from the Golan Heights.

"Remaining on the Golan will ensure Israel has a strategic advantage in cases of military conflict with Syria," Netanyahu said during a briefing he gave to the reporters.

His comments were published Friday on several Russian-language Israeli Web sites.

A week-and-a-half out from Netanyahu's scheduled visit to Washington, the prime minister stressed that he is ready to stand up to U.S. President Barack Obama and that he would not give up on matters that in his opinion are critical to Israel's security.

Netanyahu said that he intends to emphasize to Obama the need to deal with Iran and its "nuclear program, which is a major obstacle to peace in the Middle East."

"If Iran turns into a nuclear power they will force all Arab states to ally with it, and the extreme Iranian regime that revealed its plan to eliminate Israel will not allow Arab states to normalize relations with Israel," Netanyahu said.

Netanyahu also told the reporters that he would not present preconditions for negotiations with the Palestinians and would not accept preconditions from them.

He said relations with Russia are important, but called the Russian supply of weapons to Iran a mistake

His true faith is finally starting to show. Watch for the introduction of Shia Law, coming soon to the Socialist Nation of America. As Betty Davis said in All about Eve, "Hang on its going to be a bumpy ride" to even greater loss of freedom, particularly religious freedom, as well as loss of our first and second amendment rights, all in the name of peace and love. Give me a break.

Have to wonder if a "closet" Muslim, in his role as president of the U.S., will talk about the virtues of his adopted country, rather than promoting the eventual take-over of our country, and others, by his fellow Muslims, who have a much higher birthrate?

Unless they become true practicing Muslims, minorities (along with many others), will find out what real slavery brings to them in return for their blind allegiance to "change."

I look forward to this speech.

What's he going to do, repeat the traditional stereotypical and dogmatic rhetoric perpetuated in the Muslim world that the U.S. really is the great satan?

Does he believe that his mere existence and position as U.S. president is a reparation for the alleged evil that the U.S. has allegedly practiced against Muslims throughout its history?

This will indeed be a historic speech, whatever he says, and will reveal to us what position he really represents. It will not only unmask his position, but the reaction to the speech will unmask the fraudulent position of those who have gratuitously attacked the U.S. over the years for its policies.

Once again, Obama proves to the US and the World that he has a political vision. One out of every four Arabs is Egyptian, and Cairo remains to be the political and cultural beacon of the Middle East. Well done, Mr Obama!

Excellent choice despite everything, Egypt is still the biggest Arab and Muslim country and it is our most reliable ally in the troubled region!

Will this "speech" to the Muslims change the minds of Obama's political opponents in the U.S. or solidify their opposition?

If his record so far is an indicator...I presume the latter.

How about a speech to Israel.. dear leader...since you are over there anyways.

I must be dumb--or did I miss something.
What reason would the USA PRESIDENT be
promising a speech to muslims---unless could he be a muslim hisself?

Posted by: hermanfickes | May 8, 2009 2:56 PM

Americans must be more tolerant. Muslims are not all terrorist, what the media shows is only the negatives about Islam. America has to be at peace with the Islamic world and not constantly at war with them if we truly want peace at all. Islam also is non compulsory, we do not impose our religion on anyone but we do pray that everyone will accept this deen.

For all the Muslims held in our torture camps there is but one road to freedom: To accept Jesus Christ as their personal lord and savior.

Once they take that step, the pain will stop.

This is the message President Obama must deliver to the Muslim World!

This is the banner of our Crusade!

What a surprise! That is the first decision of Obama that really disappointed me. Egypt a coounty knows for his dictator president who wants his son to replace him after more than 25 years in power. Opposition and democratic group don't have a say. It's that what Obama calls Change. Do americans think about Egyptian and they feel when they see dictator having the support of western countries.Imagine America a country under a dictatorship and foreign president suppoting this dictatorship, how would you fell about those foreign counties especially if they are christian? Why not Indonesia which is the biggest muslim county in the world and is a democracy? Egyptian has been living under martial law for more than 25 years with the support of american dollars (2 billion a year) sine Egypt signed the peace deal with Israel. What a shame Mr Obama. For someone who supported you from day one of your campain ,i was expecting a better choice.

Too bad our tax paying dollars are going to support the dictatorship, but yet here we are preaching democracy.

Another intolerant Muslim nation. I am sick and tired of us bending backwards for Muslims. They just seem to be only interested in imposing Islam and killing us.

Posted by: jassprit | May 8, 2009 2:39 PM

Ah, yes, Egypt! That beacon of democracy known throughout the Muslim and Arab world! That should just about patch up all that hostility there...

This was the best venue they could find, one of most oppressive regimes in the area? I'm sure security will be top-notch as they have a lot of experience jailing their opponents. Damascus or Amman would have been more effective, IMHO.

I don't know. They way he's running this economy, giving trillions to the banksters while the little people gets speeches, maybe he should go there and stay there.

After all, the CEOs, him being the #1 CEO, love to outsource our jobs and 'minds'.
