When I last graduated from Arizona State University the honorary doctorate was given to Erma Bombeck. In her lifetime of humor writing she made lots of people laugh. Obama has already accomplished more than any 10 people could ever hope to do. I hope that the officials who perpetuated this farce check the expiration date on the KoolAid they've been drinking. As a double alum of ASU, I'm appalled.

This is a party school, not a school of intellectuals - a huge joke! The problem isn't the graduating class, the problem is stupid POLITICS. Do these idiots really think Obama gives a hoot about their bogus degree??? Given all the prior honorary degrees given out, they should be thanking the POTUS for attending!

If I were a graduate, I would go but stand up with my back to Obama, silently holding a color poster of an aborted fetus.

I had not heard that ASU were not going to give him the honorary degree...where did you find that tidbit?
My thoughts on this are quite simple--if he is NOT wanted wholeheartedly by everybody--DON'T GO to the Commencement!
This obviously includes ASU--AND secondarily Notre Dame!
Catholics would definitely appreciate it if he doesn't appear there at all--and in addition, STOPS harrassing Ron Paul and his ilk!

This can work both ways. Our president should boycott ASU if they continue to insist on disrespecting him by refusing the usual honorary degree. This is no place for cheap political statements.
