DNC Puts Cheney Front and Center in New Web Video

By Garance Franke-Ruta
As far as a attack ads go, saying that a political party loves the party man who served as vice president of the United States for the past eight years normally would be pretty weak stuff. But Richard B. Cheney is so unpopular that Democrats believe they can get traction by continuing to hold him up as the leader of a Republican Party seeking to move past the Bush-Cheney years and reinvent itself for a new demographic and political era.

And so, the latest Democratic National Committee "Web ad," above, with its tagline, "The Republican Party [Hearts] Dick Cheney" and a Valentine's Day worth of pink hearts. The ad, released to YouTube yesterday, features a clip of Republican National Committee chairman Michael Steele saying, "I'm not in the business of suppressing someone's opinions and their thoughts."

The "Republicans [Heart] Dick Cheney" video also includes a clip of House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) saying of Cheney, "having these voices out there, it doesn't hurt us, it helps us."

The DNC apparently begs to differ.

Shut up Cheney, you and the moron in chief have killed and done permanent serious damage to far more Americans than the terrorists themselves, so you are no one to talk. Your ideology is sick and twisted just like the people you make your false claim to have protected us against, you are a threat to the peace, prosperity and harmony in this world, you and your moron friend Bush have ruined thousands of lives with your wasted war, extortion and failed self serving policies, America is ruined, the American people are homeless, jobless, without food and health care and are dying because of stupid self centered, egotistical, arrogant dirt bags like you.

The GOP is shrinking into a paranoid racist, Southern, Evangelical, pro-torture party. Good luck with that.

Perhaps this is the time to bring up a book written in 2002 & maybe not-- "Dreaming War, Blood For Oil and the Cheney-Bush Junta" by Mr. Gore Vidal who at that time had already, authored 22 books, 5 plays & much more. He won the 1993 National Book Award. He is related to one of the past President's of the United States & can be found on Wikipedia..
And what about the people's decision to mint a one dollar coin, already, in circulation; & leave off "IN God We Trust"...Guess, it has already started.
What's next: oh yes--some say do not close down Gitmo Bay & do not bring any of those detainees here. Perhaps, Mr. President, with all due respect, it is time to change your mind once again and let the public see those untouched photos or is that what some are trying to force--it really will make many of us, hate ourselves...I've seen enough when they were shown on 60 Minutes, already.
Respectfully submitted....
