POTUS Events: Meeting Gates and Crowley

President Obama meets with his senior advisers at 10:30 a.m., following his routine briefings. At 3:00 p.m., he meets with President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo of the Phillipines in the Oval Office. An hour later, Obama sits down with Treasury secretary Timothy Geithner and Vice President Biden.
At 6:00 p.m., he meets with Sergeant James Crowley and Professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. at the White House.
White House press secretary Robert Gibbs holds the dailiy press briefing at 1:15 p.m.

concerned44: Your attitude is what frustrates dialog on race relations. None of these men -- Gates, Crowley, Obama -- will do a full retreat, and I would argue that none of them need to. They all were right in some respects, and wrong in some respects.
Obama for instance, was wrong to use the word "stupidly." But the essence of his concern -- that the arrest was unnecessary, was confirmed by the local prosecutor who had already dropped the charge against Gates and the Cambridge Police themselves, who called the arrest "unfortunate" and "regrettable."
The goal of dialog in race is not to convince the other side that your side is correct. That will never happen, because people's experiences in this country are partly determined by their race. Every study confirms this over and over.
The goal should be to respect the other side's opinion and understand that there are certain things you will not be able to understand.

Enough of this nonsense. It's time that the POTUS man up and admit completely that he made a mistake and that he should never have said anything. There are more important things to do right now than prolong this idiocy.
