One person produces something of value, another person buys it. That's an ideal free market scenario. Everyone contributes / everyone gets something of value in exchage for something of value. Works great.

However, today's so-called conservative thinks it's a good idea to enable and protect an ungodly number of profit sucking leeches who manuever and manipulate to place themselves between the producer and the consumer. The end result is that the people who produce are underpaid, and the people consume pay too much. The people in the middle,(e.g.insurance companies or useless behemoths like Enron) take the most of the money and run. They also bribe politicians through lobbying, and bribe news media with advertising, all the while using the wealth our labor created.

The workers and consumers pay for all of this nonsense.

Any of you half baked paranoids who want to yell "socialist" at people who are putting themselves on the line to rescue our country from entitled middleman thieves, can put your money where your mouth is and give up your own social security and medicare. Leave the rest of us alone. It hard enough working our butts off to fix the mess your jingoistic gullibilty created, but putting up with blatant displays of immaturity and ignorance makes this task that much more difficult.

Years ago someone threw a star spangled boomerang at us hard-working, humanity-hugging liberals. We ducked and it's now headed for the bigots who threw it in the first place.

Hey right wingers, this is America. Love it or leave it!

Ya know,

I think maybe the Indy's had it right when They suggested AIG should fail. Instead of paying them 85 billion to cover the bad loans they insured (along with your health care) we could have watched a bunch of these corrupt insurance companies die broke.

Sure, if they'd gone under things would be worse - but the flurry of dropped health insurance consumers would have ended the debate and we'd still have all that money.

And that guy at the town hall could have asked the president a better question.

Hey how about this, instead of ignorance and hate how about you express one good idea on how to move the country forward.

While Obama battles healthcare reform, our troops battle insurgents in Afghanistan. Priorities?

'Jack Smith — Working Class'

If whatever survey you're citing actually had stats like that, the question was probably prefaced with "if it were free of charge and you could ride unicorns to your doctor".

I see in your other postings on the web you id yourself as a Socialist. What a surprise.

I second the motion that panielsen be given a permanent break from posting here on WaPo.

Just watched the Montana "town hall". What a joke....
Listen to the paraphrased exchange between him and a local insurance agent, Mark Montgomery:

MM: Why did you change it from healthcare reform to health insurance reform, and why are you calling me a villian?
BO: Well, if I thought private insurance really was a villian, I'd just try and put you out of business. Instead, I'm going to force you to sell coverage at standard rates to people with pre-existing conditions and terribly expensive health problems. Now, even though the people with pre-existing conditions and poor health we force you to insure will be big-time losers on the books, they'll be new customers, so you'll have more customers, and that'll mean you're not being bankrupted by the government.

Huh????

That, and that "2/3's of the cost will be covered by reducing inefficiences" (!).

Dayum, BO. Are you really that desparate?

Is Obama a one term President if Health Care Reform passes or fails to pass?

The Post should ban "panielson" from posting anything unless he/she abstains from the horrible racist name calling. This person is unhinged and seems to be emotionally unstable.

Posted by: drain1 | August 14, 2009 2:44 PM

Obamacare is done. Ask the government to fix the fraud in Medicare estimated to be over 12 billion a year. That would be a good start.

Posted by: Bubbette1 | August 14, 2009 2:29 PM

Please delete Panielson's racist posts.

THIS IS IT!

More than two thirds of the American people want a single payer health care system. And if they cant have a single payer system 76% of all Americans want a strong government-run public option on day one (85% of democrats, 71% of independents, and 60% of republicans). Basically everyone.

AND NO INSURANCE MANDATES WITHOUT A STRONG GOVERNMENT-RUN PUBLIC OPTION ON DAY ONE! An insurance mandate without a strong government-run public option choice on day one, would be a DISASTER! And it would be worse than the GREED DRIVEN PRIVATE FOR PROFIT HEALTH INSURANCE HORROR! SHOW you have now. YOU MUST MAKE CERTAIN!! THAT DOES NOT HAPPEN AMERICA.

The healthcare reform bills released by the first two committees of the House Of Representatives are excellent bills as I understand them. They are bills with a strong, robust, government-run public option, and an intelligent, reasonable initial funding plan to cover almost all of the American people. They are carefully written, and thoughtfully constructed, informed, prudent and wise. These bills will save trillions of dollars, and millions of your lives. They are also now supported by the AMA.

These are the type of bills that all Americans can feel good about. And these are the type of bills that have the potential to dramatically improve the quality of healthcare for all Americans. Rich, middle class and poor a like. Democrats, Republicans, Independents, and all other party affiliations. These bills have the potential to dramatically improve the quality of life of every American.

The house healthcare bills released by the first two committees should be viewed as the minimum GOLD STANDARD by which all other proposed healthcare legislation should be judged. All supporters of true high quality healthcare reform should now place all your support behind these healthcare reform bills released by the first two committees of the United States House Of Representatives, as the minimum Gold standard for healthcare reform in America.

You should all now support the first two committees bills with all your might, and all of your unrelenting tenacity. These first two House committees healthcare bills are VERY, VERY GOOD! bills for all of the American people. Fight tooth, and nail for every bit of these bills if you have too. Be aggressive, creative, and relentless for these bills.

From this time forward, go BIGGER and DEEPER with the American people every day until passage of healthcare reform with a robust, government-run public option.

FIGHT!! like your life and the lives of your loved ones depends on it. BECAUSE IT DOES!

SPREAD THE WORD

BTW,
When you and your Little Socialist She-Males decided not to honor the long standing unspoken agreement that the children of a sitting president were not to be used for political purposes by attacking the children of President Bush, you left yourself open to any and all reference to the Nigglets.

Posted by: panielsen | August 14, 2009 1:01 PM

Please Mr. Babooma,
Tell us all about how you, the First Hoe and the Nigglets are going to be covered under the exact same policy as the rest of the peons of the country.

BYTW, will your policy also cover yet another face lift for Nancy Peloci, if so, she will end up with one heck of a mustache.

to rwbently:
The level of your paranoia astounds me. I don't supposed you have ever benefited from any government program? Like maybe the federal student loan program (this a very efficient and pretty easy to take advantage of), social security, medicare, veterans benefits (including healthcare), our great interstate highway system, the national park system etc., the post office (I suppose you get mail every day). etc. etc.

Obama is meeting with "regular" folks today in Belgrade, Montana. The tickets were handed out on a first come first serve basis so there was no screening. I know this because my daughter lives there. Again your paranoia astounds me. get your facts straight. Your anger says to me "don't confuse me with the truth".

I consider myself a "plain little folk"
too. Why are people like me, who have an opposing view, your enemy? I am middle class, married, have 5 children (4 in the military) and 2 wonderful grandchildren. I have private health insurance, I'm lucky. I support health care reform and hope to benefit from it in the future. I hope that our Congress will pass a plan that has a safety net for folks like me who are one illness away from catastrophecase.

My family has experienced first hand
what happens when you have private insurance and some who's covered gets very sick. All sorts of claim denials, caps and the cost of the treatment long term exceeds the lifetime limit. My sister's family was faced with this - losing a lifetime of hard work through bankruptcy just so that she could continue to be treated for cancer.

Would you trust your insurance company with your health care? To me, a government option is a far less scarier prospect. Finally you should think twice before calling people Nazis - my father fought Nazis in world war II and Obama is no Nazi, in fact my 87 year old Dad voted for Obama.

Anger doesn't get anything accomplished. Civil dialog and action do. I hope you act on your beliefs but leave the anger behind.

Another town meeting for Obama? Like the last one? ie. a audience of planted stooges-teachers, union goons?
He doesn;t have the cajones to meet with an open audience of -yes the mob-plain little folks-grandmas, seniors, businessmen who all have legitimate concerns that Obama's Nazi regime now wants to suppress and denigrate as anti-American. It's his socialist tyranny that's unAmerican and will stoop to anything to suppress any dissent. That's now proven and that's why the "mob" of seniors and others will never trust a tyrannical socialist govenment with thier lives. Oh yes, Britain, Holland, Canada all have practiced health care rationing, usually on the backs of their seniors-and ther's plenty evidence that euthanesia would also be crammed our throats. Our very American traditions, values and, indeed our lives are now threatened by this regime.
Oh, and you can take this to the white house; I'd be proud to be on their enemies list!

Shame on you for making things up.

The first people in line were the people that were allowed into the meeting. Maybe if the "crazies" would have rolled out of bed earlier they could have go in. Leave it to the liberals to be responsible enough to get there early.

You throw around words like "nazi", "anti-American", and "socialist" as if you knew what they actually ment. Shame on you for being stupid and loud.

"The problem with the world is that stupid people are Cocksure and intelligent people are full of doubt."
