MARTHA'S VINEYARD, Mass. -- The First Duffer hit the links Monday on the first full day of his vacation, after a morning workout and a game of tennis with his wife at the 28-acre waterfront estate he has rented for the week.
The presidential foursome on the golf course includes President Obama, South Carolina Rep. James E. Clyburn (D), his friend Eric Whitaker, UBS Investment Bank president Robert Wolf and White House aide Marvin Nicholson.
White House officials declined to say which of the island's golf courses was hosting the president.
"You know, he's on vacation. So everything is a little bit loose," spokesman Bill Burton said at the elementary school gymnasium that is serving as the Island Briefing Room. "You know, you wake up, you have some breakfast, you work out, and then you decide, 'Oh, what I feel like doing today?' He's doing that just like anybody else."

JakeD - Try and pay attention: he's paying for it all himself, to the tune of about $25,000 for the week.

I found it! Over $2 BILLION per year that we taxpayers are spending to run the White House / fly pResident Obama all over the world:

Will the press please respect the interests of a Nation that is tired of the 24/7 Obama coverage? We need a vacation too. What next a Czar to let the public know when BO has a BM?

How much taxpayer money is being wasted during a recession on this "vacation"?

Good for him, now maybe less money will be spent and less handouts with him on vacation. Massachusetts deserves him.

Nothing wrong with a week's getaway with your wife and kids. Not like clearing brush for a month in Texas...

Debette:
$25,000 is hardly "paying for it all". If cost more than that just to fly AF1 there. You need to pay attention.
