Report: Gonzales Backs Holder on Prosecutor Appointment

Appearing on The Washington Times' "America's Morning News" radio show Tuesday morning, former U.S. attorney general Alberto R. Gonzales "defended the decision of his current successor, Eric H. Holder Jr., to investigate alleged prisoner abuse by CIA interrogators over President Obama's desire to look forward," the paper reported.

"As chief prosecutor of the United States, he should make the decision on his own, based on the facts, then inform the White House," said Mr. Gonzales, who was appointed to the post by President George W. Bush in 2005 and resigned in 2007.

Mr. Gonzales also said Bush administration lawyers clearly defined what interrogation techniques were legal and the few who went beyond the rules should be investigated, despite the so-called chilling effect it might have on future intelligence-gathering.

"We worked very hard to establish ground rules and parameters about how to deal with terrorists," he said. "And if people go beyond that, I think it is legitimate to question and examine that conduct to ensure people are held accountable for their actions, even if it's action in prosecuting the war on terror."

Without being aware of the impact of his own words, Gonzales has given the independent prosecutor his blessing to take the investigation all the way to the top, where the illegal orders were given, and bogus legal justifications were manufactured (watch out Dick!)

On the other hand, maybe Gonzales knew exactly what he was saying and has his own grudge against Cheney, Ashcroft, Yoo, Bybee and others who conspired to undermine the Constitution.

Either way, Holder should take this investigation all the way to the end, no matter how high up the co-conspirators. It's also crucial to his integrity that President Obama not try to impede this outcome, even if it will result in the indictment of the former president, vice-president and other top officials.

As Cicero said (106-43 BC), "A nation can survive its fools and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within.... "

Be forewarned: The findings depicted here are extraordinarily shocking and frightening. They are also deadly serious, and deserving of your immediate attention.

It is painfully obvious to the astute that every abuse of power and the breakdown in America's moral authority was justified by 9/11 - the lies, the torture, the covert assassinations and the 'war of terror. The way people responded to Cheney's paranoid delusions reminds us of our own insecurities. It is the product of our own fears that allowed Cheney, under a cloak of patriotism, to set up his own shadow presidency, intelligence agency and subvert MI6 and CIA into allowing a covert assassination ring of Blackwater thugs to beat out forced confessions and undermine the innocent to act as 'patsies' and go-betweens.

It is the courage and strength of will of a few notable women that have saved America from self destruction. It is the dedication of scientists and independent researchers that have yielded vital clues that have unmasked the military black operations that involved careful planning and skilfully executed deceptions.

The Achilles heel is the Pentagon attack that was so meticulous in execution that even George W Bush visited the Pentagon heliport on September 10 2001 and was due to return to the heliport on September 11th so that secret service could comb the area and plant evidence and Rumsfeld was out on the lawn after the 'attack' to personally direct operations. The video presentation, 'Nation Security Alert' is an example of conscientious digging, so difficult it has taken three years of hard work to reveal the truth behind the Pentagon attack.

I have spoken to many groups that are asking for a public investigation. THIS IS NOT WORKING - therefore it is essential to target schools and colleges and 12th grade students with as much hard evidence as is possible. I am working with local colleges to create a platform for debate. This will 'prime' young people to demand an official review of the facts. Please join a group before September 11th, that is eight days left and ASK your group for a platform to repeat my advice here.

Dedicated to the men and women who lost their lives when the Towers fell, to Dr David Kelly, to Robin Cook, to the thousand of children in Iraq left maimed and orphaned and to the bereaved Iraqi families - RIP - WE WILL NOT FORGET

When you've got Alberto Gonzales backing you, it might be a good time to rethink your strategy.

Tangentially related - has anyone seen this Gonzales opera that's been making the blog rounds today? Flipping brilliant.

Alberto, you are still going to live in Hell.
Not after you die, of course I would not know about that, but here on the world, while you are alive. Bush/Cheney creatures will not be rehabilitated, sorry.

LIMITED CIA PROBE HELPS COVER UP ONGOING DOMESTIC TORTURE

The limited CIA probe is a diversionary tactic that distracts from the discovery of a deeper horror -- the fact that the Bush-Cheney extrajudicial torture matrix is ongoing, and reaches into every city, town and county in the United States.

The Obama administration must dismantle a pervasive extrajudicial targeting and punishment apparatus that is destroying the lives and livelihoods of many thousands of unjustly "targeted" Americans...

...a multi-agency coordinated war against citizens flagged by ideologically-driven bureaucrats for their politics, their lifestyles, or their racial or ethnic background.

This extra-legal Gestapo fields a citizen volunteer army that uses covertly placed GPS devices as well as cell phone transmissions to stalk and harass the unjustly targeted -- and no federal or local officials will investigate.

Many of the victims of this oppression maintain that they are assaulted by silent, injury- and illness-inducing microwave and laser "directed energy weapons," which are being proliferated nationwide by various federal agencies including the departments of Defense, Homeland Security, and Justice.

Pronouncements of a reformed Justice Department ring hollow unless and until this Bush-Cheney- spawned gulag is taken down and the rule of law is restored at the grassroots. For more on this domestic threat, see "Gestapo USA" at:

Like Ridge before him, Gonzales is in for a terrifying late-night visit call from Dick Cheney...
