Palin, a travelling saleswoman for the GOP? As is said most often in British circles "Oh my!"

Should she in future travels be paired up with Tom Delay? The Dancer with the 'Stars.' What a travel show that would be! (lol) http://www.vernasmith.com

The WSJ printed excerpts from her speech. If they are the highlights Palin, isn't a good student considering the 14 months she's had to get up to speed on the material. Her framing of the current financial crisis was beyond simplistic and her 'solutions' probably had her audience (international investors) smirking at her ignorance.

She did not lay into the policies of the current administration, nor did she propose any of her own. She commented on difficulties in other countries, but never too heavily or in any detail. Her grasp of history extends to Reagan. She touched on a lot of topics, none of them deeply or with insight, and moved on to the next topic quickly. Moving targets are harder to draw your sights on, and she really didn't have much to say on any one thing anyway.

WilliamBanzai7

Hair brained nitwit flying here
Spreading necon garbage everywhere
Heaps of GOP brain disease
While the trailer trash population feeds
That junky GOP mama floats on polluted political water
An old custom to sell your daughter
Letterman you like number 23?
Leave your yens on the counter please
Hong kong nut house warden

Tourists swarm to see her face
A CLSA meeting is a puzzling place
Disoriented she enters in
Unleashing scents of wild moose and gin

Slanted eyes meet a troublesome surprise
A political gal with brains smalleer than dim sum size
"Oh, have some Chicken chow mein and chop suey guys"
Hong kong nut house warden puuuuulllease take her away

The Palin will get a send of from Hong Kong with six three in size egg rolls. Two for the conservative republican holes below the waist and two for that hypocrite evangelical Sunday Christian Mouth. Hopefully all six will have the Hong Kong Asian flu. The best Chinese remedy .

I heard she opened her speech by saying, "Hello! First, I'd like to greet you in your own language: ching chong, ching chong, ching chong!"

It's not racist, it's Sarah Palin's grasp on a foreign language.

It's funny because she speaks gibberish when she speaks English!

Posted by: republican_disaster | September 23, 2009 9:17 PM

A RACIST TRYING TO GET OVER TRYING TO TELL US CHINESE THAT "CHING CHONG" ISN'T A RACIAL EPITHET!!!

I understand she's considering relocating to Hong Kong permanently. It's a lot like Alaska. I believe you can see China from there.

Sarah Palin is an ACTRESS.
All style, no substance... IT'S ALL AN ACT.

Posted by: republican_disaster | September 23, 2009 9:15 PM

My Lord, Sarah Palin will sink our already dismal image in the world. I would bet she didn't know where Hong Kong was on a map before this trip, and hadn't a clue it was under British rule for 99 years. I'd bet.

Wow, from her pic there, I finally realize who she really is - Ann Coulter's identical (albeit older and less attractive) cousin!

Well, since Sarah can see Hong Kong, from her rooftop terrace, why not shoot on over and see it up close and personal.

Posted by: ssmd11 | September 23, 2009 8:22 PM

This is both ridiculous and AWESOME at the same time! Is Palin really still in the ruinning to "challenge" President Obama in 2012? THe GOP has lost what was left of their ability to think.

Posted by: free-donny | September 23, 2009 7:53 PM

Where and when did Palin get a view of anything on Main Street? "K" Street prehaps. But never Main Street. during her brief visits to reality she has shown to be out of her depth, her mind and Alaska.

Posted by: jpenergy | September 23, 2009 7:37 PM

Will she get the Hong Kong vote?

Posted by: AlanGoldberg54 | September 23, 2009 7:25 PM

Sarah Palin, the 0.625-term Alaska governor.
Save us all the trouble, Sarah. Quit now preemptively!

Posted by: gce1356 | September 23, 2009 7:01 PM

It is worth noting that Ms. Palin chose to travel to a foreign land to attack the government of the United States. And she took money for it.
They just don't make "patriots" like they used to.

The invitation to Palin to speak in Hong Kong was an elaborate joke played by the event's organizers. They are famous for such humor. The whole story http://www.businessinsider.com/sara-palin-just-another-clsa-practical-joke-2009-9

Posted by: whocares666 | September 23, 2009 6:18 PM

Palin is an insult to any woman that has a brain. It is appalling that she ever became a politician. The mere fact she ran on the ticket for vice pres. says the Rep Party is rather desperate or even lame.

Posted by: alwaysAlabama | September 23, 2009 5:43 PM

This person governs nothing and represents nobody. She did not even finish one term as governor (noting that only 115,00 people voted for her). Who cares what she says?

Posted by: JulieMcNamara | September 23, 2009 5:39 PM

When asked if she would have time to visit Macau, Palin said she left her cow back home in Wasilla.

Isn't it about time Palin faced some legitimate questioning over her accusations and statements from the health care debate and other items? She seems to feel she is entitled in some way, that her "main street" opinions are infallible and cannot be challenged.

What on earth does Sarah Palin know about "Main Street" in America? Let alone how Americans really feel. She is an insult to every thinkng, rational human being.

Posted by: Sonny53 | September 23, 2009 4:22 PM

Fortunately, we'll never have a blog called 45 The Palin Presidency.

Posted by: koolkat_1960 | September 23, 2009 4:18 PM

Alaska is nothing like main street, it is another culture, another planet almost.

So much for not criticizing a sitting President on foreign soil, especially in a time of war to the people who financed it!

Cons, where are you on this one?
