Gay Rights Lawyer Selected for an Ambassadorship

By Michael D. Shear
President Obama has named a noted gay activist to be his ambassador to New Zealand and Samoa, marking only the second time that an openly gay person has been selected for a top foreign posting.

David Huebner, an attorney who has served for more than a decade as the chief lawyer for the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, will head oversees pending Senate confirmation.

"We congratulate David and know he will bring the determination and expertise that he has brought to his work at GLAAD to this new post," said GLAAD President and former Massachusetts state senator Jarrett T. Barrios.

The first openly gay ambassadorial nominee was James Hormel, who was considered to represent America in Fiji by President Bill Clinton but ran into conservative opposition. Hormel ultimately became ambassador to Luxembourg through a recess appointment.

If confirmed, Huebner will join an administration that already has several other high-profile gay members. John Berry, the director of the Office of Personnel Management, is the government's highest-ranking gay official.

The TRUTH will set us free ... and in the beginning it was the WORD. Only Gay people can say whether or not they were BORN GAY with HONESTY. From all others, it is merely JUDGEMENTS!

God created Gays for a good reason. Maybe to curb the world's overpopulation, bring loving parents to children abandoned by straights, or to utilize their "creative" gifts! Gotta trust in God's plan!

People continue to insist that being Gay is a choice. This idea perpetuates hate, discrimination, condemnation and crucifiction. It also leads to non-acceptance of their own children, grand children, and great grandchildren ... possibly resulting in suicide!

The Catholic church is pouring obscene amounts of money into an initiative in Maine to prevent Gay people from having equal rights. Money that could be used to curb starvation, poverty, homelessness, and ignorance to many in the world. What would Jesus say?

We could all work together, both Gay and Straight to make this a better world. It's called WIN-WIN. I pray this new "openly Gay" Ambassador will bring enlightenment to both the Samoan and New Zealand communities to look beyond "judgements", unlike Fiji's conservative oposition... WHAT ONE SOWS, SO SHALL THEY REAP!

It seems to me that this country is going downhill by leaps and bounds. We have those who want to remove all references to God and the Christian Faith from our pulblic forums while allowing others to teach their Athiest Faith is schools unchallenged. Now we have gay folks who try to tell us that they have no other choice but to be gay because they were created that way taking being given positions of leadership in America. Please! Enough is enough, we have been on the downhill slide long enough since prayers were taken out of schools. Note that before that fiasco, we didn't have mass killings in schools by students. Please, let's bring faith and santity back into this country

Those who practice "alternate lifestyles" and/or subscribe to progressive "dissident" political views are among the prime targets of THIS American shame:

• A genocide-politicide hiding in plain sight, enabled by law enforcement, the military, and security/intel agencies of the federal government -- America's horrific shame.

Where is the DOJ Civil Rights Division investigation into the covert deployment of silent, harmful, injury- and illness-inducing, neurologically damaging microwave and laser directed energy weapons systems on unjustly targeted Americans and their families by a Bush-legacy federal-local "multi-agency coordinated action program" that continues to commit civil and human rights violations under Team Obama...

...including government-enabled, warrantless GPS-activated, covert "community stalking" harassment, surreptitious home entries, and terrorism? OR RE: "GESTAPO USA"
