Al Gore on SNL: 'We're melting. Love, the Glaciers'

In case you missed it: former vice president Al Gore was on Saturday Night Live over the weekend in honor of NBC's "Green Week," joining Seth Meyers to promote Gore's new book Our Choice: A Plan to Solve the Climate Crisis. On the show, Gore proposed -- with his usual deadpan -- a series of outlandish schemes to call attention to climate change, such as taping toy guns to trees and planting them in congressmen's yards in the middle of the night or delivering letters, along with a bucket of ice water, from the glaciers.

That was good, glad to see it. Everyone should see it.

The WaPo comments section is funny, there's a certain retrograde hillbilly element that represents like 0.0000000000001 % of America. The same people that buy Sarah Palin's book, and get screwed by the people they vote for. The common clay...y'know...morons.

SNL is a comedy show, people. Period. I know you folks on the right, as is obvious by your remarks, don't know the difference between reality and TV shows, but the rest of us do and your ignorance is painful.

What do you expect when the Washington Post writes in the politics section about an appearance on SNL of someone who has no intentions of going back to politics?

Keep it up human lemmings. Exponential population growth is great. The savages, rats and cock roaches who survive environmental destruction of Civilization on this planet of fixed resources will eventually forget these good old 21st Century days.

The global warming alarmists are losing the debate because of their tactics and their lies. The interesting revelation of the so-called climate scientists' emails is not even a small surprise. They must think we are all stupid and that we would believe all their bombast. Now that their computer models have proven unable to have anticipated this ten or more year hiatus in warming, and with their hockey stick scenario proven a fraud and even now that the tree ring theory has been debunked, maybe it is a time for a little calm, rational discussion. Maybe Al Gore can stop with the tipping point hoax and they can all stop the scare tactics that are transparently false. Tell me your ideology, I'll tell you what your science is. This whole "debate" has ruined science and ideology and the lure of green money has permeated both sides. I don't believe anything I hear from either side and it is impossible even for those of us with advanced, Post-graduate degrees and professional levels of analytical skills to figure out where the smoke is blowing and where the truth is and nobody in the debate deserves any trust. The MSM is one of the big culprits here by failing to act as impartial watchdogs. How about a little honesty for a change? The warmists act more and more like a cult who dismisses and trashes apostates. The more they personally trash the people who disagree with them, the less credible they appear. That is why they are losing the debate.

"Remember this moment, folks," Andrew Breitbart's Big Hollywood announced. "One year after Obama's election and just more than ten months into his administration, 'Saturday Night Live' takes its first crack at Obama for something other than not being left enough."

But it's not the first time SNL has generated buzz by skewering President Obama. At the beginning of October, pundits declared the caustic "do-nothing Obama" sketch a turning point in the popular perception of the new president. CNN took it so seriously it actually fact-checked the comedy bit -- setting off a second wave of mockery.

"SNL's awakening is a sign that Obama's honeymoon is over," said Ellie Velinska on Right Pundits.com, who saw the China news conference skit as a reflection of a "public revolt against some of Obama's policies." Another Black Conservative's Clifton B agreed. "There appears to be growing noise on the left that Obama ain't all that," he blogged.
