Obama to delay start of vacation

Updated 4:24 p.m.
By Debbi Wilgoren
President Obama will push back the start of his year-end vacation by a day and remain in Washington while the Senate completes work on health-care legislation.

"I will not leave until my friends in the Senate have completed their work," the president told reporters Tuesday after a meeting with community bankers. "My attitude is if they are making these sacrifices to provide health care to all Americans, the least I can do is be around and provide them any encouragement and last-minute help" they may need.

Obama was supposed to leave Wednesday for Hawaii, where he grew up and where he likes to spend Christmas with his family every year.

The Senate voted in favor of the package early Tuesday, in a party-line split, and is expected to have another preliminary vote Wednesday and a final vote Thursday at 8 a.m.

Press secretary Robert Gibbs said at the morning briefing that the White House will "make a decision later this evening about when the president will leave" for Hawaii.

What purpose is he serving here? The Senate will do their screwing of America whether Obama is in town or in Hawaii. The house has to rubber stamp this before he can sign it, so what's the diff?

I totally celebrate President Barack Obama's clear thinking and active immersion in all dimensions of this very inspiring Presidency. He DOES work very hard, and also lives a balanced family life, plus stays physically fit, eats consciously, etc. Yes, a true servant of the Highest Good of all, as best he knows how, which is creating VERY excellent and inspiring results. I give thanks in every moment for such a brilliant and dedicated leader of our country and of the world. Such a blessing his dedication and effective leadership is to every human being of good will on this planet.

an obama christmas

as many americans go to church on Christmas Eve to to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ,

they will watch childrens nativity plays, sing carols and hear the Bible story read

and on the same day--Christms Eve,obama, reid, ben nelson (d. neb) and pelosi can read their favorite part of the Christmas story:

"Matthew 2:16 (New International Version)

16 When Herod realized that he had been outwitted by the Magi, he was furious, and he gave orders to kill all the boys in Bethlehem and its vicinity who were two years old and under, in accordance with the time he had learned from the Magi."

and obama, reid, ben nelson (d. neb) and pelosi can sing carols and celebrate THEIR Government Funded Abortion plan

around the obama "holiday tree"

Hmmm. Hasn't this guy been on vacation since his inauguration? Let's see. Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Egypt, Mexico, Cape Cod, date night in New York, trips to China, and Japan, and on and on. Between his vacations and speeches ad nauseum, when does he work?
