Lautenberg releases video of Newark airport security breach

Updated 3:40 p.m.
Associated Press
Sen. Frank Lautenberg (D-N.J.) released Thursday a surveillance video that shows a man sneaking through security to meet a woman Sunday at Newark Liberty International Airport, causing the terminal to shut down for six hours.

The video also shows a guard leaving his post, allowing the man to sneak into the terminal without going through security. The resulting shutdown caused massive delays at one of the country's busiest airports.

The video shows a guard leaving his podium for several seconds. The woman then comes from inside a secure, passengers-only area and motions to the man, who ducks under a rope. The couple embraces and walks arm-in-arm past the vacant podium.

The footage was captured by cameras operated by Continental Airlines after cameras used by the Transportation Security Administration were found to be not working properly.

Lautenberg requested the video from the TSA, and he said he released it publicly to help authorities identify and arrest the man.

"After viewing video of the security breach, I am even more outraged by the lapse," the senator said in a statement. "The more people who see this image, the faster we will find the person in question."

The security officer has been placed on administrative leave.

That is pretty crappy video. One frame per second? My iPhone can do better that.

How do we know this security breaching smoocher isn't a dangerous terrorist?

We don't. Nobody has tracked him down, yet ABC News and other news outlets state *confidently* that the guy was "just trying to give his girl a kiss."

Really? We know that ... how? Because they're cozy? And because nobody blew up an airplane that night? I guess terrorists can't smooch and explosives turn into a pumpkin at midnight.

For all we know, those people were play-acting and the guy handed explosives to the woman once they got off camera. That wouldn't take long. None of us can see him turn right around and leave -- which is what you'd if you were just trying to give a goodbye kiss. No, the "couple" walked back into the "secured" area. Off camera.

Maybe they're a couple, maybe they're not. Maybe he slipped a weapon out of his coat pocket into the woman's purse. Maybe he left put bomb-making material at some secreted location in the airport.

And now it's ... where? Any airport in the USA.

That's just great.

What ever, this administration is so bent on showing their capable of handling the jobs they have that BS like this is considered a threat. The guys probably dating the woman. But then again the Gov. and TSA is about as bright as a 25watt bulb. This may explain why they have been made to look like fools time and time again. As far as I can tell the bulk of threats come from over seas like the Christmas day attempt. But the (The Stup1d Agency) is to busy searching 85 year old American's to see the REAL THREAT. Close the TSA their a waste of time and money.

Like the pat downs their trying to use. To bad their ILLEGAL. So it’s inevitable that we the tax payer will end up paying of the law suites.

IMPEACH OBAMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So yesterday the cameras weren't recording, only showing live video and today the story is that they were working?

What gives?

Underpants bomber tale stinks -- but this DOMESTIC TERORISM is silent and potentially deadly. Stop scapegoating and take down bureaucrat saboteurs and Dr. Strangeloves:

What does Secret Service Director Mark Sullivan know about this?

• Regional Homeland Security- administered fusion centers use a nationwide microwave/laser electromagnetic radiation "directed energy" weapon system to silently torture, impair, subjugate unconstitutionally "targeted" Americans and their families -- an American genocide hiding in plain sight.

• Victims' own cell phones may be used to torture them.

• How a young FBI agent's "I believe you" gave victim the faith to go public.
